Drum Lessons in Roxbury. Amazing Teachers.

The student will be instructed on the basics of proper playing techniques, music theory, and musicianship. They will learn to read music and also play by ear which will make them a well rounded player

Experienced teacher of ten years. I specialize in beginner and intermediate piano, guitar and drum students. All ages welcome. Lessons will focus on building a solid foundation of note reading and technical skill while also being customized to your interests and goals. Let's get started!

Beginning students will begin studying from the book "Progressive Drum Grooves" by Craig Lauritsen which he/she will be required to have each lesson.

Although instructor will have drumsticks, brushes etc. students should carry them along for every lesson.

A drum set or practice pad will be a very crucial part in seeing growth from our lessons.

The lesson room also has a PA system for CD/MP3 player capabilities.

I can provide practice pad if needed. If student is learning the drum set they will need to supply for in-home lessons.

Groove is everything! Drumming is far more about feel than it's about flash. If you want to be the drummer who is in high demand you need to have both feel and flash, but feel is something that is not common. It's easier to learn flashy antics than a meat and potato drumming foundation. I've been a professional musician for over 30 years in the studio and touring all over the US, Mexico, and Central America. I can teach you how to play with seemingly effortless technique, how to bring your internal groove monster out, how to improvise solos, and bring thunderous energy into your playing venues! I've been teaching for 10 years professionally. My teaching style is motivating students to achieve their fullest potential. My goal as a teacher is to give the highest quality learning experience to all students! I pride myself on being both technically advanced as a drummer and skillfully adept at explaining complex material.

I can teach all areas of percussion from mallets and music theory to drum set and rudimental snare drum.

Experienced teacher and performer. I teach at the college level all the way down to youngsters (5 year old minimum age for me). I LOVE music and playing the drums and I'd like to share my experience with YOU!

As a performer I've toured the country multiple times with various artists, sometimes playing to crowds as large as 7,000. I've been on dozens of recording sessions and I've performed in just about anything type of venue you can imagine.

As a teacher I've maintained a roster of private students for over 10 years while also teaching as adjunct faculty for multiple colleges in Massachusetts. Additionally, I have a music therapy background which has shaped and informed my teaching style.

My favorite genres are jazz, rock, R&B, country, metal, basically anything with rhythm! Lets connect and get you moving forward on your instrument.
