Lesson regiments are tailored to synthesize student goals and musical passions, setting a foundation in the instrument of interest.
Technique and practice-exercises provide the core for study and development (but we won't let that get in the way of the fun!).
My teaching philosophy largely derives from experience with master-drummers of different fields of study; therefore, my modality is a synthesis of concepts designed to ensure anyone's improvement. We all have rhythm!

I have over thirty years of experience teaching students of all ages and abilities. My youngest student is seven and my oldest student is seventy six. I am a graduate of Berklee College of Music and have years of experience playing with jazz, rock, funk and country groups as well as playing shows for touring acts. My versatility allows me to teach many styles. Whether it's teaching a beginning student how to play rock, helping a teenage student prepare for marching band or jazz band or showing a retiree how to play to their favorite song, I always enjoy help my students learn and improve.

With a long background in music, but not drums, I studied with Rich for four years and would be still were it not for unrelated physical issues.
There's no one I could recommend more highly, as a drum teacher...as a person. Studying with Rich is not only drum education, it's enjoyable.

(Drum lessons available from in-home only). Drums were my first love, and I always get a special kind of feeling when I play them. I look forward to sharing this feeling with my students, because it really is a lot of fun. Since I've played my whole life, I've spanned a lot of genres. I can teach you subtle finesse, relentless fury, and when to use what.
About Chaetan
Having played music for as long as I can remember (my father is an accomplished Jazz and Soul drummer), music has always been a key ingredient in my life. From playing the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles theme on the drum set as a toddler, I have gone on to learn electric/classical/lap steel guitar, e

I look forward to my weekly guitar lessons with Chaetan because he is a very knowledgeable, relaxed, and patient teacher. He tailors my lessons to meet my personal goals (learning those pinnacle acoustic songs). But as an exceptional instructor, he also guides me to meet goals he has for me as a student, such as learning to build chords on my own. The quality of his instruction has already increased my progress on the instrument. Overall, his talent and interest in music motivate me to practice so I am fortunate to have found Chaetan as my guitar teacher.
Chaetan is a very friendly instructor who tailors his lessons to meet both the experience level and type of music a student is interested in. Chaetan has a lot of energy and makes the lessons fun. He appears to know every aspect of what he is teaching as well as plays other instruments. My daughter and I are both very happy with Chaetan.

I have been playing drums for more than 10 years and have been teaching for more than 3. Throughout that time, I have played across the country in New York City and even in Japan. I am currently a Jazz Studies Major at Sacramento State University. My goal is to make every student a well-rounded drummer who knows whats going on when they are in any type of musical situation. My favorite style to play is jazz, but I am well-rounded in all other styles such as rock, Latin, blues, funk, and country.
In my lessons, I base the material on the student depending on how advanced they are. If the student is just starting out, I will teach them the basics such as holding the drumsticks properly, basic rudiments, reading rhythms, learning about the hardware, and so on.
If you have any questions, don't be afraid to ask :D
About Gabriel
I started playing drums when I was in second grade and formed a band with my 2 older brothers who played bass and guitar. It was something to do when we younger but when I got into high school, I took playing drums a lot more seriously. I was in a very competitive marching band playing bass drum an

We have gone to see Ed perform in several venues and he always takes the time to talk to us during his break. I highly recommend Drum Lessons with Ed for those at any skill level."

I have had many different types of music teachers through out my life and Mark is by far the best. He is very serious about helping his students do what they want to do. I had specific goals I wanted to accomplish. Mark took my goals seriously and did what he could to help me understand the techniques to be a good drummer. He broke things down in to little steps that helped me to practice on my own and figure specific drum patterns out, He gave me the tools to improve myself as a musician, Mark did not have to but he chose to put a lot of his own time in to teaching me what I wanted to learn He obviously cares about his students and takes them seriously. I highly recommend him to any future students"

I came to Mike with no prior experience in playing drums or reading music. Mike's teaching technique is easy to follow and he explains things in a manner that is easy to understand. Mike is very comfortable to study under and he is always so positive."
