Kris has really improved my singing, both in terms of how I sound and how comfortable it feels for me to sing, and has taught me valuable techniques that I'll continue to use into the future. He pointed out problems in my singing, such as pitch issues as well as a "shaky/nervous" and helped me fix these.

Kris is awesome!

Kris is awesome! You will never meet anyone who loves musicor teaching as much as Kris. I startedwith him almost two years ago, and as an adult, beginning voice student I ampretty inhibited. Kris has an enthusiastic manner about him though, that reallyhelps you relax and feel more confident as he instructs you. When I started outthere was a real tightness in my voice that was probably more psychological thanphysical, but he showed me some important techniques for voice relaxation andamplification. For someone as shy about singing as I am, some of histechniques may seem a little outlandish at first, but they really do work! My karaoke buddies tell me that I sound even better than before! Iwholeheartedly recommend Kris to anyone who is looking for an enthusiastic andknowledgeable teacher.

One of the most fundamental of all instruments. What you learn here can be transferred to many other instruments, including guitar and piano.

About Ken
I've been playing music my whole life, but it was as a high school student when I was asked to teach the school's guitar class that I became a teacher. Since that time I've gone on to earn several awards, played in many different types of projects, and earned a Master's degree. You might have heard my music before too if you've ever listened to a podcast, TV commercials, Indy films, or played any video games. My most successful student thus far however, would have to be Jacob Tilley from the rock band Young the Giant.

Not everybody wants to be a rock star though, and there are many aspects to the world of music. During the course of my musical adventure I've played with orchestras, been in rock, bluegrass, reggae, pop and blues bands, classical ensembles and more. I have also had the opportunity to play for celebrities and diploma
ts. Basically I've done a little of everything and I believe that it is this diversity of experiences that makes me a better teacher. Having worked in so many settings gives me a broad understanding that I use to help you reach whatever goals you might have.

I have also become adept at writing, recording and producing music, studying under Frank Wright of the legendary rock band Chicago. If you have an interest in creating and/or recording music I can definitely help you get there! Check out my chill/downtempo instrumental album 'Night Music'.

*** Lesson Details ***
I can teach you about playing several different instruments, how to write, how to record your own music, and how to get your music career off the ground! As a youth, I was largely self-taught so my inspiration was always to have fun. I never had to deal with the 'homework' style of practicing so I've naturally incorporated that approach to my lessons. My goal is to keep you (the student) inspired and having fun. When that happens you will become good at your instrument and feel as though you 'played' your way to success! As your teacher I will also provide almost all of the materials for free and show you great free apps to help you along with your learning and keep costs to a minimum! I know we will have fun together while you learn and I look forward to meeting you!

*** Studio Equipment ***
Guitars, piano/keyboard, drums, bass, banjo, mandolin, ukulele and a ProTools recording studio.

*** Travel Equipment ***
I provide the learning materials but I expect the student to have their own instrument, be that a guitar, drum set, etc.

*** Specialties ***
Commercial music is definitely my specialty, but I am also capable of doing various styles such as classical, bluegrass, traditional/folk. Just focus on what you want to learn and I can teach it to you.

My experience spans over 25 years of performing and teaching every drumming style. Each lesson will include period of rudimental work, rhythm reading, and playing different styles behind the drum set. I believe in creating an environment that is focused on playing music well and where the student can have fun while gaining confidence. It is important to develop drummers into functional musicians with good technique, reading skills, and time. We will cover all styles of drumming from jazz to rock/pop, including funk, progressive, all of the Latin styles, even hybrid drumming and other percussion as desired.

About Mariano
My experience as a performer and teacher ranges from early music to today's rock and pop, including various percussion instruments from around the world. When studying for my bachelors and masters degrees in music, I did course work in music recording, jazz studies, and music history. In addition, I incorporate my knowledge of development, physics, and other sciences into my instruction. I can discuss playing music with beginners to professionals as we pursue opportunities in the music industry and education to develop functional musicians with creative outlets as students are able to explore any area or level of music. Some of my students have gone onto college music programs and high school programs such as OCHSA while others are enjoying playing music with friends. The goal is to take a student's excitement for music and percussion in
a direction that will feedback into more learning and a drive to explore more styles of music.

Mariano was an amazing percussion and drum set teacher. His lessons were engaging and productive, and he was always able to communicate an idea or musical concept in a way that I was able to understand and connect with. After about 2 years of lessons I was accepted into the Orange County School of the Arts for percussion and I owe my success to the lessons I took with Mariano. I continued lessening throughout high school and my skill level contined to grow. What I loved about Mariano's teaching was his unique ability to take very simple exercises and make them more difficult and therefore much more beneficial. Along with stressing the importance of basic technique, he would constantly inteoduce me to new things - Afro beats, traditional grip, Latin beats, new ways to sight read, and 4 mallet marimba technique. I would highly suggest taking lessons with Mariano if you are looking for a fun, encouraging teacher who has lots of experience with a variety of percussion performance!

Ray R. is what I would call a "Performance Teacher" to me. I am a guitarist and play with him to improve everything from rhythm to live performance skills. Not only is Ray an absolute beast of a musician, he is a wonderful teacher. As many people may know, just because one is a good musician it doesn't necessarily mean you also know how to be an effective teacher. Ray is the best of both worlds! I have improved leagues since I started playing with him some months ago. I COULD NOT recommend his as a teacher enough.

I have 17 years of experience playing and studying drums, and I look forward to sharing that with you! I'm a flexible & fun teacher who likes to see my students succeed.

I like to tailor lessons to whatever your goals are. We can learn one of your favorite songs, I can teach you drum-set exercises to improve your coordination, or we can practice rudiments to ensure you've got a great drumming foundation.

Please feel free to message me a question!

Kevin has been teaching my daughter Ellie for 9 months now. I found him through an old UCLA friend who's also part of the music scene here in LA. Ellie started as a percussionist in her middle school concert band and used to bang around on the set after rehearsals, but now that she's in 7th grade she decided to join the jazz ensemble. So we wanted to get her proper training on the drum kit. She always looks forward to her sessions with Kevin (we try to fit in a weekly session around club soccer and chess - yes, I'm breeding a Renaissance Woman), and she has seen astronomical growth in her abilities since she started with him last summer. As a musician myself, I can tell you that Kevin is a consummate drummer (check out his band Sure Sure!!) and teacher, not to mention a responsible (and hilarious) young man. He really emphasizes control and syncopation with Ellie, and her band teacher has been super impressed with her growing talents. Rumor has it she's even getting a drum solo at the spring concert...

My drum lessons has huge focus on the development of each and everyone of my students on a personal level, beginners to more advanced players, and my goal is to help strengthen my students natural talents and to improve his/her weaknesses.
My goal is to help my students to become not only better drummers but also better musicians therefore I focus greatly on musicianship, how to be a good team player in a band situation, improve a professional state of mind and listening skills. I teach hand technique/ foot technique, rudiments, sight reading, systems to improve independence and creativity.
The main genres I teach is rock, funk, latin (brazilian & afro cuban), metal and jazz. I also have knowledge in styles like second line, ECM and reggae.

About Adam
I am a Swedish professional drummer and I graduated from the Los Angeles College of Music with an Associate of Arts degree. Before my education I was taking private lessons from an MI graduate drummer named Svetlan Råket and I have also studied privately with my mentor Joey Heredia. I did also play in various bands and groups for 13 years back in Sweden. I have been studying with great drummers such as Ralph Humphrey (Frank Zappa, Don Ellis etc.), Joe Porcaro (Natalie Cole, Frank Sinatra, Pink Floyd etc.), Joey Heredia (Michael Ruff, Scott Henderson, Stevie Wonder, Frank Gambale etc.) and Gary Ferguson (Glenn Hughes, Gary Moore, Steve Lukather, Lana Del Rey etc.).

My students can expect personal one-on-one lessons in which I as a teacher will help the student to hone and improve his/her natural talents and to help get rid of any weak s
pots. I also highly focus on how to be in a band situation and/or working with an artist and how to be and act as a professional musician. I teach various styles in drums such as rock, pop, funk, jazz and latin. We will also run through rudiments, hand/foot technique, sight reading and ear training.
During the first lesson I use to ask my student to play various things on the kit or the pad so I can get a good and clear picture on what level we will be start working. My level of students reaches from beginners to advanced players.

I hope my services sounds interesting and don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions!

Best Regards

Adam
