I've worked with some of the biggest names in the songwriting businesses, like the legendary Paul Simon, co-written with artists who've toured with Justin Beiber and recorded with grammy winning producers and won songwriting competitons and awards for my own writing. I have 17 years of professional experience in this industry and I've got a very down-to-earth personality so I can work with you at any pace or level you're at.

About Dylan
I'll teach you whatever you want: whether it's crash course music theory, songwriting, guitar technique or just learning a couple pop songs. You can get the same education I paid $80k for at Berklee but WAY less expensive. I'm a professional songwriter, guitarist, performer and recording artist. I graduated at the top of my class with a B.A. in Professional Music at Berklee College in Boston, MA.

My students can expect to steadily improve their technique, theory, chords structure, improv, song list, understand of the language of music, writing abilities, and find music to be fun rather than a chore. We can focus on an intense practice regimen or just learn songs together. No pressure at all, we'll go at whatever pace you'd like to.

I've worked with songwriting legends like Paul Simon, co-written with artists who've toured wit
h Justin Beiber, worked with grammy winning producers, toured U.S., self released two albums and I've had a successful career as an independent musician. I can teach you the in's and out's of the business as well, things like: social media for musicians, ad targeting, finding your fans, and a lot more.

Specialties: Pop, Indie-folk, Fingerstyle, Improv, Blues, Funk, Jazz, Two Hand Acoustic Tapping, Music Theory, Ear Training, Harmony, Live Performance, Social Media for Musicians, Lead Guitar, Loop Pedal Performing.

As a fairly experienced pianist transitioning to guitar, Dylan was great. He gauged what I knew but still broke down the basics of guitar, helping me get the basics of finger positioning, strumming, and transitions, and tying back to the elements that I knew from my years of playing piano.

I have composed many songs myself, as well as helped musicians compleat their compositions when stuck on the bridge section etc.

About Tony
Tony has been performing professionally for over 35 years. When he arrived in Los Angeles in 1969 he studied guitar with virtuoso Jimmy Stewart. Later, he studied with master guitarist George Van Eps.

Tony played guitar with many top recording artist in the mid 1970's. Later, he started to teach formerly at the John Waltrip Music School in Arcadia California. From then on, he began to teach privately.

In addition, he is teaching 6th and 7th grade guitar classes at St. Cyril of Jerusalem School in Encino. Tony is a bonded and certified by the LAPD and FBI. Tony finds it very rewarding in helping beginner and advanced students to learn the beautiful music the guitar can make.

As Tony's teacher, George Van Eps taught him to think of the guitar as a "Lap Piano" so Tony does the same. The guitar is a versatile chordal and melodic inst
rument, and should be taught as such.

In addition to the above, I play guitar and arrange music for various Inde-Alternative and Jazz recording artist. I have arranged music for large orchestras, including a 35 piece orchestra in Hong Kong.

Tony has been a great instructor; he is a very knowledgeable and skilled guitarist with so much passion that is very infectious! He really gives me the motivation to try harder until I get it! He is very patient and tries to understand how I learn and what I want to learn and customizes the lesson to my learning ability. It's not easy teaching me, but some how he figures it out! About Alex
I have been playing music since I was 7, and now play the guitar, bass, violin, piano, and I also sing. By the time I entered the University of Southern California, I had released my first album of original music, toured the west coast with my own band, toured internationally to China, Canada, France, England, Hungary, Ukraine, and Austria, and performed with The Vienna Boys Choir among other notable musical ensembles.

Since receiving my Bachelor's degree in Guitar Performance (with a minor in Music Recording) from USC, I have released three more albums of original music, produced four albums for other artists, and have toured nationally with my own band. I currently play in three Los Angeles area bands and am the live sound engineer for another. I have taught guitar at West Coast Music Academy 18 months, and have taught private lesso
ns for the last 6 years.

With all of this experience and knowledge, I offer a student a very rich understanding of many styles of music. I can ensure that a student gets on the right track towards a bright musical future, whether they want to become a professional musician or whether they want guitar as a lifelong hobby.

*** Lesson Details ***
When you take lessons from me, you will be taking the fastest route to success: playing a lot of guitar! We will cover everything from music theory to technique to soloing to playing your favorite songs, but we won't be spending the lesson time talking. Everything you learn will be quickly put into a playable, practical context, so that you learn the most, and have the most fun!

I have high expectations for my students, and practicing every day is a requirement. But because my curriculum is personally tailored to each individual student, and involves a lot of the music that the student is most passionate about, I find my students often love to practice! I also use a variety of musical texts to enrich the students learning (including, but not limited to, Practical Theory for Guitar by Don Latarski, Effortless Mastery by Kenny Werner, the Real Book series, and various Mel Bay books).

After about 6 months, a new student will have learned most basic chords and scales, the building blocks of playing solos, and a good handful of their favorite songs! More experienced students will have enriched their understanding of guitar and how it relates to the music they love, and music that is new to them!

*** Studio Equipment ***
Lessons will happen in a studio room at the guest house, electric/acoustic guitars, bass and amps are available, it has instruments on the wall, computer with recording equipment, free street parking. In the event that a student in allergic to cats/dogs, the lessons can occur on the backyard at a roofed area.

*** Travel Equipment ***
guitar, amp, any effects if necessary. student must provide guitar (any kind)

*** Specialties ***
I specialize in rock, pop, folk, and jazz guitar styles. I focus on material that the individual student is excited about and wants to learn, and incorporate fundamentals and other pertinent skills necessary to maximize the students ability.

For bass guitar I specialize in rock and pop.

Contemporary songwriting technique is not genre-specific and I can teach any type of songwriting, from hip hop to country to rock. I have been a songwriter for 7 years, and have released 3 full length albums and one EP of my original material. I was also a student in the pilot classes which later became USC's Popular Music degree program. These classes focused on songwriting and were taught by industry veterans Chris Sampson and Richard Smith.

I was trained in advanced music theory as part of my degree from USC. I integrate theory into my other lessons but I can also teach theory alone.

I have advanced skills with ProTools and have extensive experience (5 years) in recording, from professional studios to personal home setups.

Everybody can write a song, right? Well mainly, yes, with some musical background, a song can be written.
When you're pushing for a certain level though, it can really help to have some tools to analyze both your composition and performance to hone the piece, the style, and the arrangement.
I have written or produced dozens of songs, many of which have been featured in major motion pictures or released in their own right putting me in a perfect position to help you with your work and share all my secrets!!

About Andrew
British born and Educated at London's prestigious Trinity College of Music and The Royal Academy of Music, my professional musical career has spanned over two decades to date. I have performed with world renowned acts such as Sia, Dave Stewart and Horace Andy, and have been a featured recording artist on many of the worlds most famous film scores while myself having authored or co-authored over 30 movie scores.
A Suzuki violin student since the age of 3, I added piano, guitar, singing and composition during my teenage years. The Suzuki method encourages advanced aural development from very early on and this has turned out to be my strongest suit. With my ear, I have impressed some of the most notable orchestrators, composers, directors and producers in London, Hollywood and the world over. In fact, it was these on the spot aural magic tr
icks that allowed me to impress the Hollywood composer that first invited me to Los Angeles to work on my first blockbuster. That opportunity led to many years of success in the industry and some notoriety.
I have always had a passion for teaching, sharing my knowledge with others and watching other people take immense pleasure in their own achievements. I have been told time and time again that I have a very special gift for teaching and I would very much like to share it with you, whether you want to learn an instrument, musicianship, ear training, composition, hone your vocal or mic skills or learn how to arrange an orchestral piece in just a few hours!
I look forward to talking to you about your specific needs and goals and having the opportunity to help you realize them in a fun friendly and authentic atmosphere.

I've been Teaching piano, and music, and developing my own revolutionary method for 25 years.
I taught classes, and privately for 8 years at "Colton Piano" Superstores, several locations, all ages.
Then my performing career took me around the world, playing keyboards in world famous rock bands.
I have continued to teach, a select few students during that time, but now I'm opening my doors again to be available to teach YOU, and your family the wonderful world of Music!
I teach all styles, in the process. Starting with YOUR favorite songs!
Your skills and ability to play will grow as your interest grows, by having fun realizing that yes, you CAN make music, and even "play-by-ear"!

*** Lesson Details ***
Depending on student level.
If you're a beginner, then we start with just getting acquainted with the keyboard. And then sett
ing a goal, towards music "YOU" like, and learning to play it.
If you've already had lessons, I always ask, questions like "Do you already know this"? Then we'll move on past it.
And, questions like "If I'm using a word or 'term' that you're not sure you understand, then stop me, and we'll learn it.
I'm very empathetic, to the process of learning music! I think it's exciting, and I enjoy teaching it because of that!

*** Studio Equipment ***
Downloadable Lesson Method Materials. Webcam.
Pianos / keyboards / Synthesizers / Computer based Keyboards

*** Specialties ***
1) Piano/Keyboard-"Play by Ear"/ while learning Music Theory.
"I believe in the concept that we could get milk out of the refrigerator, before we could spell it. And we could say "refrigerator", before we could spell it. And Based on that understanding, eventually learned to spell it, and for some, even repair it." I've proven that music can be taught this way, in a gratifying way, without ignoring "Training" that traditionally has intimidated so many.

2)Synthesizer fundamentals.
Whether it's a keyboard, or a computer. If you want to know what all those knobs do, ask me. Sure you can experiment. But There are a handful of knobs and buttons (ADSR/ Filter/ Envelope/LFO etc.) that are the same, across the gamut. That fundamental knowledge makes it possible to control every sound, and create them from scratch, into anything you imagine! If you don't understand what "MIDI" means, or "ADSR", I can teach you in a few short lessons. Knowledge is power.

For about five years now, I have been actually completing playable music. The past couple years, my school's jazz combo has even taken a couple of my songs to compete with at local jazz festivals. I have studied primarily under the fantastic composer, guitarist and teacher, Tom Hynes the past couple years. Prior to my studies, I was self taught, as a way of expanding my improvisation. I write primarily for Chamber ensembles, Jazz small ensembles, and even some pop music. I use Handwritten, Finale and Logic pro for notation, so whichever is most convenient, I'll use. In lessons, I will ask students to bring in material they have written each week, which we will review together. I'll add some suggestions, but will not change the integrity of the music, just refine it. We shall look at composing in different styles, as well as expanding upon the styles in which the student is most interesting in pursuing.

About Eric
Hi! I'm Eric, a Saxophonist, Composer, Singer, and Teacher that was born and raised in Southern California. I've been playing the saxophone for over ten years now, writing music for as long as I can remember, and singing since I was in elementary school. I play for a variety of groups in Los Angeles, and sometimes perform in L.A. and surrounding areas at venues such as the LightHouse, Saint Rocke, Avalon, The Mint, and the Baked Potato.

I keep my lessons fun, efficient, and applicable. I give students assignments to work on, not only so they don't forget what we talk about, but also so they can also expand upon the concepts given in lessons, (which familiarizes them more with the information). I look forward to helping you unlock your potential!

I have been writing songs since I was in grade school. Currently I'm in the process of recording a debut EP under the name of Redgrave Jones. I LOVE writing songs and would LOVE LOVE LOVE to help you write your own songs!

About Lynn
I have been studying voice and piano and performing on stage in various capacities since I was a small child, acting professionally on stage, in films and TV for most of my adult life. I've been blessed to study with countless music luminaries in varying genres, from jazz and classical to rock n' roll and blues.

I studied music at the university level both at Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA and The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music in NYC. I received my BFA in Jazz Vocal Performance from The New School in 2008. I was given an incredible foundation in ear-training, music theory, composition, arranging and song-writing through these institutions.

My diverse music education and experience means I am able to teach music in many different styles and music of many different genres. I can accompany my students on piano a
nd help them to prepare for auditions. I can teach how to read music, to play classically on the piano, to read jazz charts, or help you figure out parts for a chord progression for a pop or rock song.

My acting training is equally many-faceted and I have an incredibly strong foundation based in the teachings of Sanford Meisner, Stanislavsky, Lee Strasberg and Larry Moss. I use the knowledge of these great teachers along with the wisdom I've accumulated from MY mentors over the years in my teaching and coaching.

Lynn is stellar. Her background and training are substantial and impressive. She is prompt, courteous, calm and absolutely wonderful with our daughter (Age 9) who has challenges focusing and staying on task. Lynn is kind, but navigates the lessons confidently, fluidly and with a focused energy. She works with our daughter's playfulness, incorporates humor and positive, encouraging energy into every lesson. Our daughter has shown signs of great improvement with Lynn. Lynn assigns tasks and practicing points each week for our daughter to work on which are balanced and also bring in a component of improvisation, which is SO helpful for kids who have challenges with focusing. Lynn is awesome, highly recommend!
