He completed his bachelor’s degree in music education and performance at Texas Tech University, and his Master’s in trombone performance, and his Performer’s Certificate, at the University of Denver. *** Lesson Details *** My lessons are geared towards a set of goals that are created between the student's wants and my expectations for them to be successful at what the student wants to achieve. For each student, I use a different set of pedagogical tools designed to get them to the goals they want. The main goal I have for all my students is that their fundamentals on their instrument will be at the level that they can complete their goals with ease. Over their time with me, they will have the skills to coach themselves when they practice and tackle any music they come across.

Bill is a stand-up guy. My 11-yr-old beginner daughter is happy with her lessons so far and he interacts with me in a friendly and polite manner. He is respectful of our time and does what he says he's going to do. Can't ask for much more. We are looking forward to a summer of trombone lessons with him.

Over my teaching career, I have worked with over 200 individual students. Many of my students are not only successful in their bands but in regional honor bands and Solo and Ensemble competitions as well. While I now only teach part time, I have years of full-time teaching experience as well. When I was full-time, I worked directly with several Nashville-area schools, including the nationally-acclaimed Oliver Middle School band. When country musician Adam Sanders sought school musicians to accompany him at CMA Fest in 2018, 75% of the brass section was enrolled in my private lesson studio! Last year, competing against hundreds of students from all over the region, my students took second-chair trumpet and trombone at MTSBOA Mid-State.

Zachary Al-Radiedeh is an avid performer and educator currently residing in the Greater Atlanta area. His eclectic career in music began when he chose the euphonium in fifth grade, mistakenly thinking it was a French horn. Since then, Zachary has become an active performer on many other instruments, including trombone, tuba, voice, and bass, and his performance idioms have ranged from classical to punk to folk fusion. His diverse career has led him to performances in a wide range of noteworthy venues, including Strathmore Music Center, the 9:30 Club, and Mile High Stadium. Zachary holds a Bachelor of Science in Music Education from Towson University. He is currently pursuing a Master's of Music in Music Performance and Pedagogy at the University of Georgia, where he studies with acclaimed teacher David Zerkel. Notably, Zachary has st
udied euphonium with Matthew Shipes Seth Horner and James Hicks, and trombone with Natalie Mannix. He has performed under the baton of several esteemed conductors and composers, including Jason Fettig, Johan de Meij, and Timothy Holtan.
Outside of concert-style performance, Zachary has built a reputation as a sought-after educator and consultant in the world of marching music. As a marching member himself, he joined the Troopers Drum & Bugle Corps for two national tours in 2015 and 2016, was a member of the Cadets2 Drum & Bugle Corps in 2014, and was a featured soloist with the Towson University Marching Band in 2015. Zachary has taken these experiences in top level ensembles and applied them as an active and engaging instructor for marching ensembles in the Baltimore area and beyond, including the Towson University Marching Band, Pioneer Drum & Bugle Corps, and the Urbana High School Marching Band.
Zachary's professional affiliations include membership in Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, Tau Beta Sigma, the Maryland Music Educator's Association, and the National Association for Music Education. In 2018, Zachary was a recipient of two prestigious honors at Towson University: winner of the University Concerto Competition and Second Prize in the Peggy Gordon Friedmann Music Competition. Zac taught me how to properly perform an aria in front of a whole lot of important people that I was stressed about. He gave me some excellent pointers on how to work with a pianist. His knowledge of music and his experience in performance has certainly shaped the way I perceive my own performances ever since that lesson.

It is Rapturous for me when a student realizes their own musicality by going past just playing the notes on the page, to actively expressing the Message (which could be a Thought, Emotion, or a Scene) that is inherent in the piece.
In a Low Brass lesson, I have the student play: -A quick and effective warm-up with me. -A quick review of their assigned technical exercises. -Their assigned Etude or Chart or Solo. -A Duet with Me.
Technical aspects of Performance: 1. A mastery of ability to Sight Sing. 2. Clean Articulation. 3. A wide (and well-sounding) Range. 4. Moving between partials is Flexible. 5. A beautiful Tone.
I wish for my students to become more than just good instrumentalists, I want for them to always have fun with music. When a student realizes that music can ultimately be Emotional and Creative Outlet for them, they will be Musicians for life!
I am a Bass Trombonist, but teach all brass instruments. I have been teaching for 20 years. I help my students build their Tone, Technique and Articulation by teaching a simple Warm-Up routine. I have written an 8-page eBook entitled "Optimal Brass Playing" that describes ten areas of best practices in Brass playing. Each of my students receives one of these. I also heavily emphasize instruction on Sight Reading. In fact, I have recently written a book on the subject that I will soon publish entitled "Page to Performance". As a Composer, I have also written Duet parts to all 65 Introductory Melodious Etudes that were fist compiled by Alan Raph. I use these Duets in lessons to help my students strengthen their Listening Awareness skills.
Mr. Scott really is a nice person to meet. For my first voice lessons, He helped me identify what range I was comfortable with and introduced a few of his works that opened my perspective on reading music. He knows how to teach his material if you specify what exactly you want to accomplish.

Scott is someone who expertly emphasizes both the fundamentals of trombone playing and musicianship. I have had the opportunity to read his melodious etudes arrangements with him and his arrangements are expertly crafted to force the performers to work on listening, phrasing, intonation and sound quality all in one fell swoop. Scott's attitude is very warm and not condescending in the slightest. He is very positive while always encouraging the player to grow. If you are a low brass player who wants a deeper understanding on the intricacies of low brass performance and overall musicianship, you should absolutely give Scott a try.
I have had the pleasure of working with Ethan for two years at Stokes Forest Music Camp in northern New Jersey. This
program takes place in July for two weeks and consists of talented students from ages 12 to 17. They are involved in many great activities such as orchestra, band, chamber ensembles, rock band, jazz band, and musical theatre. As a fellow teacher here at Stokes (French horn and Music Theory), Ethan and I have joined forces to promote a fun and effective teaching environment for the camp's Brass Ensemble. Ethan was the driving force behind this group, and without his enthusiasm and patience, this ensemble surely would not succeed! His teaching methods kept the students involved, and they definitely had lots of fun last year performing New Orleans jazz (without music!).
