I break down drumming to its most basic rudiments so that you will grow by leaps and bounds instead of just crawling along.

You have to walk before you can run so getting it right initially is very important to moving forward and getting you playing your favorite songs quickly and accurately..

I am a professional percussionist and .educator I have been teaching private lessons since 2010 and is currently available to teach lessons at your home or in my home studio, and online.I have helped my students to learn how to read music, obtain good hand posture, develop their technique and musicality.
I received Bachelors of Music in Percussion performance from the Chicago College of Performing Arts, Roosevelt University in 2015 and Masters Degree in Percussion Performance at the DePaul School of Music in 2018. I look forward to helping my new students achieve their goals.
Beginner students will learn how to read music, how to properly hold drum sticks, learn basic strokes, drumming techniques, beginning rudiments.
Intermediate and advanced students will learn how to improve their playing technique and virtuosity. They will also learn how to approach a specific piece of music; how to become expressive and creative with their skills.

Able to teach everything from hand percussion (Congas, Bongos, Djembe, etc.) to full drum kit. Also will cover music theory and teach drum notation. All genres. Online students are expected to have equipment prior to lessons. If you do not want to begin with a full set, please have at least a practice pad and drumsticks.

I have over thirty years of experience teaching students of all ages and abilities. My youngest student is seven and my oldest student is seventy six. I am a graduate of Berklee College of Music and have years of experience playing with jazz, rock, funk and country groups as well as playing shows for touring acts. My versatility allows me to teach many styles. Whether it's teaching a beginning student how to play rock, helping a teenage student prepare for marching band or jazz band or showing a retiree how to play to their favorite song, I always enjoy help my students learn and improve.

One of my favorite instruments to teach , and definitely a fun instrument to learn, is the full Drum Set. You will love my method as it is very easy to follow. Starting with very basics of learning rhythms, within the first two lessons you will be able to play beats with a band! Study with me for over twenty years if you like and you will learn all styles of beats, polyrhythms and more.

Lesson regiments are tailored to synthesize student goals and musical passions, setting a foundation in the instrument of interest.

Technique and practice-exercises provide the core for study and development (but we won't let that get in the way of the fun!).

My teaching philosophy largely derives from experience with master-drummers of different fields of study; therefore, my modality is a synthesis of concepts designed to ensure anyone's improvement. We all have rhythm!
