Trombone is probably the most fun brass instrument. I enjoy getting beginners started and intermediate students to the next level.

About Jacob
*** Travel Equipment ***
I expect the student to provide their own instrument. I will bring mine. I will suggest music to get in the student doesn't have their own.

*** Specialties ***
I teach all brass instruments (trumpet, horn, euphonium, baritone, trombone, and tuba), and trumpet is my specialty. I can also teach beginning to intermediate piano and guitar lessons. In addition, I have extensive experience teaching ear training, music theory, and composition. I am fluent in all styles--Classical, jazz, pop, funk, etc.

Jacob has been working well with my son. We had to change schedules to accommodate my daughters activities otherwise he was a superb teacher. Hope my son will remember all the tricks learned from Jacob.

Jacob was always accommodating with our ever-changing schedule and was so patient with teaching my 12 year old to play the double valved french horn, given the limitations of being many miles away and the difficulty of playing this instrument.

My mission, is to create a private and educational environment to students of all ages. One that enriches their senses to music, through reading, writing, ear training, performance and technique.

About Nicholas
Nick comes from a family of four generations of music in the GREEK/Balkan repertoire. He graduated from Columbia College of Chicago with a concentration in Music Composition in December of 2009. Currently teaching and performing professionally, Nick enjoys all styles of music, but has been declared as an "old soul" by many of his friends. He enjoys playing lots of Motown, funk, and jazz, but is proficient in Classical, Rock, and Blues as well. When not playing music (rarely), he is a Board member for the GivingBackPack Foundation which provides school supplies to underprivileged children. Nick's dedication to education is shown through his music and his personal volunteer hours, he feels his diverse background gives his students an advantage to a broader perspective of music and theory.

*** Lesson Details ***
I set an individual c
urriculum based on students needs, wants and aspirations. We will focus on proper technique, theory, musicianship and sightreading to become a better all around musician. After a few months of lessons, you will have the proper fundamentals to grow as a musician and discover the art of music.

*** Studio Equipment ***
All necessities on site.

*** Specialties ***
I am well versed in many styles, I have played professionally and teach, ALL forms of Rock, Jazz, Blues, World (ethnic musics), Pop, Acoustic, Folk, and most other styles.

I hadn't played the trumpet in 30 years. My first lesson with Nicholas was like starting from scratch. He is very knowledgeable, polite, professional, and definitely patient. I feel that that homework Nicholas assigned was spot on. I'm playing better already after only two days. I would certainly recommend him to a friend.

Nicholas really tailored the lessons to what I needed. They weren't cookie-cutter lessons, and I appreciated that. He answered all the questions I had, and helped me understand some concepts that I never would have gotten just learning online. I definitely recommend him as a teacher.

Nicholas was very patient, took the time to write down information that was helpful (very helpful). Nicholas understood where I was in reference to me knowing nothing about the guitar and he is very knowledgeable with the music trade. He was very clear and kept things simple. I truly enjoy his instructions, can't wait for the next lesson.

*BRAND NEW DISCOUNTED PRICES FOR SUMMER!*

With almost a decade of teaching experience, I provide a personalized approach to learning this wonderful instrument. Have a question? Please contact me! I am more than happy to answer any questions.

About PAUL
NEW SUMMER AVAILABILITY

Hi! My name is Paul. I graduated in 2016 from Arizona State University with my Master of Music in Performance. I just completed the second year of my Doctorate of Musical Arts program at Arizona State University.

I have almost a decade of teaching experience that ranges from private, one-on-one lessons to larger masterclasses. My private students have auditioned into numerous all-region and all-state ensembles. Most recently, I have provided various workshops and masterclasses for local, Phoenix-area schools.

My performance experience is quite varied. I was a tenured member of the Washington-Idaho Symphony on bass trombone for five years. I left to pursue my Masters degree from ASU. Other orchestral experience includes several Summer Pops concerts with the Great Falls Symphony, some featured artists such
as Kansas and Charlie Daniels. I have spent several years playing in jazz bands, Jazz I from the University of Idaho and Concert Jazz Band from ASU. In the spring of 2016, I performed with ASU's Concert Jazz Band at Highland Jazz Festival where we featured Wayne Bergeron and Andy Martin. Recent performances include Salt River Brass' " Made in America" program featuring trumpet soloist Rex Richardson, Phoenix Theatre's run of "Bullets Over Broadway," and performing with and conducting the Arizona State University Trombone Ensemble at the 2017 International Trombone Festival. In December 2017, I made my solo debut performing with Salt River Brass. I recently attended the 2018 Pokorny Seminar where I worked with numerous musicians including Tim Higgins (SFO), Jim Markey (BSO), Dr. Andrew Glendening (Host/RSO), and Gene Pokorny (CSO).

I could tell Paul definitely knew all the tiny details about mastering the trombone since the first lesson. He recognized what I needed to improve upon in order to reach my goals in a timely manner, armed me with the tools to do so, and I have no doubt that I will achieve those goals as the lessons progress.

Students can be expected to play not just repertoire provided from their school but also assignments given by me. I enjoy teaching to better my Students musicianship not just to get in to region band or get Superior ratings at solo and ensemble. Bettering ones musicianship will almost certainly lead to these things however.

About Jeremy
I am a college student working towards my music education degree. Helping students achieve their musical goals has always been extremely important to me. When I teach I prefer to focus on expanding a Student's musical ability rather than focus on a specific piece, however if there is a piece a student wants to learn I will surely be very willing to help.

I have been playing trombone, and more specifically, bass trombone, for over 20 years. I have studied trombone at New Mexico State University with Dr. Allan Kaplan, and at CalArts with James Miller of the LA Philharmonic. I have played, performed and recorded professionally with choirs, theater productions, jazz bands, marching and concert bands, symphony orchestras, small ensembles, and brass bands all over the world.

I work to make my lessons enjoyable AND engaging. I will spend time with you on fundamentals such as key and scale studies, tuning, functional harmony, breathing studies, arpeggios, mouthpiece studies, rhythm and counting exercises all the way into more difficult materials such as extending your range, melodic and improvisation skills, single- and double-valve studies, and even into extended techniques, such as multiphonics, split tones, circular breathing, quarter tonal methods and more.

About Tyler
Hi, I'm Tyler! Born and raised in Roswell, New Mexico, I am the son of a band director. That being said, I have literally been involved in music since I was an infant! I played trombone, bass trombone, and bass guitar all the way through high school, and went to New Mexico State University where I received my Bachelor's Degree in Music, and then moved to Los Angeles, California, where I received my Master's Degree at California Institute of the Arts, where I also learned to play the other brass instruments, as well as composition and arranging.

Throughout my career, I've been able to do some great things with music. I have been able to travel Europe and work with one of the world's finest brass instrument manufacturers, Michael Rath, I have toured Colombia with my University's Wind Ensemble, I've recorded at Capitol Records in Hollywo
od, and have written and premiered numerous works for orchestra and rock ensemble, trombone choirs, and even a duet for quarter tone trumpets!

I have an affinity for modern and avant garde music, but am well-versed in all genres and musical styles! I also like to play in and record rock and roll bands, I've amassed a quite a few years of recording experience as well. From gypsy bands to thrash metal groups, I've recorded a wide array of music.

I also taught in the classroom from grades k-12 for a few years before following my true passion of teaching privately. I love to reach you at your own level and work to grow with you from there.

My goal is simple: I simply want you to come to love music as much as I do, if not more! I strive to give you the tools to become a successful musician in your own right, and I work to keep my lessons fun and engaging.

In a very short time my daughter was able to play songs and even performed with Tyler for some music store promos. His knowledge of music is extensive yet he is able to convey that knowledge at varying experience levels. Tyler is a great instructor!

Mr. Lesley has taught my daughter piano for the past 6 years. In that time she has developed enough skill to be able to sight read and play just about any piece you put in front her. Mr. Lesley now helps her with her confidence and more complicated pieces. He has developed a relationship with my daughter to be able to understand what she is thinking by hearing what she is playing. She can be quiet and shy, but Mr. Lesley always takes a caring approach with her to bring out her personality and talent. He considers her likes and interests when selecting classical and popular pieces. Throughout the years he has coached my daughter in singing as well. Mr. Lesley is very flexible with scheduling if there is a conflict which is helpful to a mom of 3 kids. Pricing is also reasonable. We definitely feel very lucky to have taken lessons from Mr. Lesley for so long!

Rob Lesley (Mr. Lesley) is an experienced music teacher with a passion for music and teaching it to students. He is able to take traditional music/teaching styles and give them a modern twist to encourage and excite his students. Rob is always very patient and greatly flexible when it comes to making compromises (with lesson times, student's learning speeds, etc.) He's very understanding and provides constructive criticism in a kind way to help to improve greatly.
I, Chloe, a 12 year old girl who plays guitar, have been taking lessons with Mr. Lesley for 6 years. He always encourages me to do my best and because of all of the kindness and humor he always shows, I would never consider any other instructor. My brother, Brady, who is learning percussion from
Mr. Lesley, feels the same way and always enjoys himself during our weekly lessons.
In conclusion, Rob (Mr. Lesley) is an outstanding and irriplacible music instructor who is greatly recommended by my family.
