What I like while I'm teaching trombone is also to introduce some harmony aspects that helps to understand the music that we perform and it helps to make a bigger progress.
I adjust every program according to the student. I like to do arrangements from the pieces students want to play and I make a specific method for each student.
About Alba
I'm a performer in jazz music. Coming from a musicians family I started to play the trombone at the age of 9. I have my bachelor in classical trombone in ESMuC (Spain). Studied classical with Daniel Perpiñán, Brand Attema between others. I performed with many orchestras but I had focus more in the

Hello! Through my four years at the Juilliard School I have taken lessons with some of the worlds most prominent trombonists, including Elliot Mason, Steve Turre and Joe Alessi. In addition, I have a vast experience of teaching both classical and jazz students. I've created my own general lesson plan comprised of exercises I have received from these world renown teachers, as well as from other working professionals in NY.
I'm very quick to notice your skill level and create a cohesive, unique lesson plan catered to working on your weaknesses and polishing your strengths! A mediocre teacher will simply give you default exercises to work on-- a task better left to google. A good teacher, however, can diagnose a student and find the most efficient way for he/she to improve.
I promise to be a caring, fun, informative teacher. Please contact me for more information about my lessons.
Teaching is my biggest passion, I can't wait to work with you!
Happy practicin'!

the connection was a little weird at first but it was on my end I think because the second I moved to my living room it was steady. Rather than find a local teacher I just figured to see if I could find someone affordable online, and wow, he also went to Juiliard!

I'm a very flexible teacher. Whatever you feel that you need to work on, we will work on. Currently, I am taking lessons from Steve Turre at Juilliard. He has performed with many jazz greats including Dizzy Gillespie, Woody Shaw, Rahsaan Roland Kirk, and J.J. Johnson. If you're interested, I wouldn't mind teaching you some of the things I am learning here at Juilliard.

I am an experienced teacher, having been a low brass teacher for over a decade. Over 90% of my students that study privately through their senior year of high school receive some form of college scholarship for musical ability, as well as excellent standardized test scores. Additionally, my students have received placement in state rankings for organizations such as NYSSMA, TMEA, ASBOA, as well as Interlochen and Tanglewood summer institutes.
My lessons are customized to each students needs and goals, with the primary goal being a cultivation of great fundamentals.
As a performer, my experience as a freelancer in NYC and performing with word class ensembles like the Metropolitan Opera, Broadway shows, and chamber ensembles makes me an excellent choice.
