Ronen really rocks! He is terrific with my son who can tend to have a short attention span and be fidgety. His explainations of the lessons are clear for my son comprehend and he is very patient. The lesson at Ronen's home which is very welcoming and he leaves in a great neighborhood which is a plus.
After years of playing with some of the best musicians on the planet, as well as learning from the great masters of the past, giving clinics and guiding countless students through their musical paths, I've built gradual methods of internalizing rhythm and movement that are meant to not only help the student learn that which they're pursuing in the most efficient way possible, but inspire them along the way -- cultivating their passion and encouraging them to engage with the material with the type of fascination and curiosity that brings about the best student they can be.
We will be working on knowing where One is, technique and movement around the drums/pad, soloing, harmonic rhythm, as well as any material the student themselves would like to work on.
Touring drummer, educator, multi-instrumentalist, clinician and composer, collaborated with artists such as Avishai Cohen, Pat Metheny, John Patitucci and others, teaching private lessons in Brooklyn.
The methods of internalizing rhythm I've developed are intended at providing the student with an inspiring, musical approach to their practice, so as to become the best drummers they could be. The material is built for ALL LEVELS, from the aspiring beginner to the most advanced professional. We will explore the fundamentals of rhythm, movement, coordination, phrasing, and anything else we'd consider to be in-service of the music
As a percussionist, I play a lot of different drums. Let me know what you're interested in learning and I will teach you!
David is a Juilliard-trained percussionist and timpanist available for in-studio and in-home lessons in the New York City area. An experienced performer and teacher, he brings an exciting and collaborative approach to lessons with students of all ages.
Very professional, organize materials according to your level and needs. best teacher.

My 9-year-old son, Luke, who is on the spectrum (PDD-NOS) studied with David for the better part of a year and the experience was terrific. In addition to being extremely communicative and reliable, David was kind and patient. David kept Luke focused and entertained while also inviting him to think about rhythm in ways that made sense to Luke's brain. We happily traveled from Inwood to "Downtown Brooklyn" for lessons because the level of instruction was that good and, I think, Luke's progress demonstrates that. Luke was bitten by the hockey bug, so we are taking a break from percussion right now, but I wouldn't hesitate to return to David's studio should time allow in the future.

I have experience with students of all different ages, abilities and experience levels. I've studied percussion and drum set since 1990, and rudimental and hand drums since 1999. I can teach students

As a professional touring and recording artist, I am happy to share my knowledge of playing in multiple musical settings, and the "business" of playing music. My passion is for live performance, and it is essential to help students feel confident while playing for an audience.
Our focus will be on developing proper technique, listening carefully and critically to recordings, and building a foundational music vocabulary via reading and writing.
I look forward to sharing my knowledge and expertise with you!
I have been playing drums for over 10 years and have a bachelor's of music from NYU. I am experienced in many styles of music including Rock, Jazz, Pop, Classical, Dance and more. My goal as a teacher is to help you reach your drumming goals, whatever they are. My lessons will offer the best of both worlds: the foundational and advanced knowledge I gained from music school, set in a relaxed and friendly environment where the main goal is to have fun! This is, in my view, the best and fastest way to improve.

Thanks to Patrick, I finally have a basic understanding of the II-V-I progression. He managed to explain it patiently and effectively. I cant recommend him highly enough. A rare combination of technical mastery and effective communication...

Great teacher with a lot of patience and a very creative way of communicating. The best part was that as a french person, I was to take the lesson in French! Patrick is bilingual.
I have been working with students of all ages and levels for over 26 years and have learned something meaningful from each and every one them. Nothing makes me happier when I see them getting into great schools and acquiring lucrative jobs that make them happy, My students walk away with tools to not just play a musical instrument but a skill set strong enough to tackle any task. I am equally versed in performing on and teaching drum-set (Pop, Rock, Jazz, Latin etc...), all the percussion instruments of the orchestra (ask about my state of the art recording studio where all of these instruments live), and hand drums including congas, bongos, Djembe etc... Anything you can strike scrape or shake is available for study either online or at my studios.
David R. has collaborated with some of the finest talents in pop, jazz and classical music. After joining Barry Manilow’s band in 2003, he has appeared to sold out arenas all over the world and recorded Grammy nominated, Emmy winning and chart topping albums and DVDs. David received two Grammy nominations for both the classical and pop genres which include Absolute Ensemble’s Absolution and Manilow’s Gold album In The Swing of Christmas, both featuring The Matt Herskowitz Trio with whom he has traveled the world. The trio’s albums, Forget Me Not and Jerusalem Trilogy were nominated for the Felix and Juno Awards for “Best Contemporary Jazz Album of the Year”. David has worked with Stevie Wonder, Lady Gaga, Kesha, Tony Bennett, Michael Buble, Andrea Bocelli, k.d. Lang, Leslie Odom Jr., The Killers, Paul Simon, Usher, Baby Face, Reba McEnt
I was honored to take a hand percussion lesson from David after hearing him perform with a major arena tour and a phenomenal jazz trio!. Although the setting for the lesson happened to be intimidating, David was able to help me focus on my strengths as a player and showed me how to build on them. He excels at building confidence and inspired me to integrate world percussion into my work as an elementary school teacher. I highly recommend him as an educator who knows how to motivate and bring out the best in students. I look forward to taking lessons online in the future!

David taught me since 2011. He is the most handsome, serious, responsible teacher I ever had. He helped me become a well-round musician rather than just a percussion player. To be honest, he is the most suitable teacher for me.

As an instructor, David exudes the perfect balance of amiability and intimidation. He will inspire you to work your absolute hardest without scaring you away. Personality-wise, he is that happy medium somewhere between Mr. Rogers and J.K. Simmons in Whiplash. I studied with David during my college years and 7+ years later I still utilize his concepts in everyday practice. There are many specific stories, ideas and exercises of his that have always stuck with me and come up quite often when I am working on something new or teaching a lesson or class of my own. Whether we were learning orchestral excerpts, 4-way independence, Bach fugues or just playing quarter notes with the metronome, I always left our lessons feeling highly motivated and anxious to practice. It's also great to have a teacher that can blow your mind with his own playing. It might be difficult for some teachers to get students into something like the tambourine or triangle but when he picked one up and casually played some insane rhythms and advanced techniques I was immediately inspired to learn to do the same. Not to mention his drum work on Matt Herskowitz's "Forget Me Not" - some of the things he does on that record still keep me up at night. I'm very grateful for my time as a student of David's and glad I can still learn from him as a friend and colleague!
I believe that each person is drawn to the drums for different reasons; some have dreams of performing in stadiums for thousands of people, others simply want to be able to play along to their favorite records in the garage on a Sunday afternoon. Whatever your goals are, my goal as a teacher is to always keep sight of your initial motivations for drumming, craft an individual plan to help you get there, and to have some fun along the way! (All styles & levels welcome) *Please check out my Drum Lessons Introduction video below to hear more and see my lesson studio!

It has been a pleasure to begin to learn to play the drums with Zach. He has made the lessons immensely enjoyable and given me the time and space to master one element of drumming before on to another.

Zach is not only a kick-ass drummer, he’s a great teacher too. I never thought of myself as musically inclined but after six months of lessons with Zach I have changed my tune. Thanks to Zach’s patience, kindness and skill, I’m actually learning how to play the drums at age 45! I look forward to my lessons every week and highly recommend Zach to aspiring drummers of any age.

Zach has been my drum instructor for a little over a year now, and after stopping playing for several years beforehand I foun Zach, I thank him helping he rebuild my passion for rocking out! He never fails to take his time with me and break down certain beats, songs, etc, whenever I’m having trouble getting the grasp of things. He makes his classes very personal and it’s clear how much he cares for how I perform and how much I understand what I’m doing

"Daniel is the man! I've always wanted to learn how to play the drums, and finally found the time in my life to pursue it. Daniel took the time to walk me
through the basics and made sure each step made sense to me. I never once felt judged or ashamed of my lack skill. You can see he thoroughly enjoys teaching his passion and makes each session fun. I'll be coming back twice a week from now on!"
"Ross has improved my drumming so much in such a short period of time. He is truly amazing!!"
"Looking forward to working with Rene to help my son become a proficient drummer."
"Bobby has a wealth of knowledge and passion about music and can help you learn how to play your favorite songs on drums from any genre (alternative, indie
, pop, hip-hop, jazz, classic rock, dance and more). 2 months ago, I knew nothing about drums, and in just 9 lessons so far I can now play a handful of songs and grooves. I learn so much each lesson, and Bobby does everything he can to help me succeed. I highly recommend Bobby."
"Michael has been very patient and flexible with my inconsistent schedule as a working adult. He brings a positive energy with a lot of praise and positive
reinforcement that makes me look forward to my weekly lesson. If learning how to play drums is on your new years resolution/bucket list, Michael makes that commitment a fun experience! I've tried a few drum teachers but I especially noticed a huge improvement in my drum skills since I started lessons with Michael. I've played songs that I wouldn't have imagined playing a year ago. He is of course very knowledgable with the drums, published his own drum lesson book, but he doesn't just go through rudiments or textbook material. He gives various resources that are useful in drumming and never makes the learning experience dull. Very professional and easy-to-approach guy, I would recommend him to anyone wanting to learn drums, especially if you're an adult wanting to try something new!"
"Working with Shon taught me a lot! Great attitude and awesome personality really helps when you struggle with a part of a song, and that's Shon's way of
working! Straight forward gracious and loving in his teaching methods! I appreciate all he did for me in our season together."
"Outstanding Drum Instructor
Casey has been instructing our 9-year old son for over a year. He is an outstanding drum instructor and I highly recommend hi
m. Casey goes above and beyond as an instructor and his passion for music AND teaching is always evident. Casey connected with our son by taking the time and effort to get to know him to understand how he learns and what he likes. He adapts his approach to ensure our son is having fun while learning. Best of all, the results are tangible ... our son enjoys his lessons, looks forward to practicing, and has learned how to play and read music. I would not hesitate in the least in hiring Casey as an instructor."
"Great teaching skills"
"I definitely recommend everyone go see Daniel for drum lessons! He was a super fun teacher, but still patient and made me feel very comfortable. Not to me
ntion he made learning a breeze. Thanks for making me a better musician Daniel! :)"
As you progress in your drum lessons, you will learn to play more advanced drum patterns. Here, Federal Way, WA drum instructor Kendra M. shares some exercises to help you play 16th-note drum fills...
When you create a four-fill beat, the possibilities are endless. Many beginning drummers, however, tend to rely on the same pattern every time they play a one-measure solo. One of the first fills most drummers learn on a five-piece kit moves from snare drum down through all three toms as f …
