Songwriting is both a creative process and methodical process. As a songwriting teacher, I try to help students support their creativity by learning about the craft of songwriting. I am as much a student of songwriting as I am a professional and believe the reason I was able to land my publishing deal was because of my study of the subject of songwriting. I'm looking forward to sharing those lessons with you!

About Alvin

Whether you are looking to write or produce, I can help bring both beginners, intermediate and advanced students to the next level. I've written and produced songs that have appeared on Power 105.1, NYC's biggest Urban Radio Station, CBC, Canada's biggest radio station and some of the biggest Spot

Alvin is very passionate about what he’s doing and ambitious. Very nice person, easy to talk to, easy to do deal with.

Alvin is a great producer and collaborator to work with! I have been working with Alvin the past few months, and it has been a great experience! He is dedicated to making quality music, and really understand the needs of a songwriter and vocalist from the role of a producer and arranger. He takes the time and care with his clients to deliver results in a timely manner, and I look forward to creating more great songs with him in the future!

I have few lessons with Keith so far. Keith is a very patient and flexible teacher. He customizes lesson plan accordingly to my level and needs. I have learned a lot in short amount of time. Thank you!
Princesse S.
He is the best! It’s been 3 weeks and I’m singing everywhere I go!

Keith is very knowledgeable, patient and methodical. By letting me play a few notes and asking a few questions, he already knew where I should start and had the whole study plan figured out. His lessons are very productive but not in an overwhelming way. After two classes, I actually already feel I've improved significantly. I'm getting more and more comfortable playing to musical notes, which I tried to teach myself several times but all failed. I finally feel I'm on the right track!

Writing songs is almost like breathing for me. It is a great source of joy in my life and I've been helping others find that joy for many years. Whether you are a beginner or seasoned songwriter I can help you shape and improve your writing skills, find your way through writers' block and inspire your creativity to a whole new level.

About Marie-France

I have taught piano and voice most of my adult life. After working with hundreds of students, I realized that I needed to adapt my teaching style to the uniqueness of each student, especially those whose perceptions differ widely from the general populace. I love what I do, helping each student dis

I enjoyed my 2 sessions with Marie, at the end of my second lesson she offered to email me a list of acting/improv classes in NYC because everyone she knows was in NYC.
This was contradictory because initially she told me she just moved here and doesn't know anyone up north. And besides that, I expressed how happy i was with her classes which was down the road 35 minutes and not commuting to NYC which is over a couple hours.
Anyway, I am glad that I actually learned something and got to do exercises and not leave with the feeling that i wasted my money and most importantly my time like other acting coaches on here.
Hannah
Great teacher. Very encouraging and patient which is what an adult learner needs. She supports her students and gives them interesting contemporary pieces to learn (that is the genre we picked so we stay interested in practicing!). Thanks Marie France!
Jason
I enjoyed my 2 sessions with Marie, and from work she was a 35 min commute vs 90 mins to NYC.
With her I felt engaged, she was prepared, professional, stayed on topic and gave relevant critiques and feedback.
At the end of my second lesson she offered to email me a list of acting/improv classes in NYC which she did.
Anyway, I am glad that I actually learned something and got to do exercises and not leave with the feeling that i wasted my money and most importantly my time.

"I have been looking for somebody to help write and notate my songs. I went to some producers and music teachers for help with my songs. I wish I would have to run into Carlos back then. Carlos is very knowledgeable about songwriting and just music in general. He takes his time to always listen to my ideas and then helps me organize my melodies and chords. He even helps me write my songs down. I am glad I am working with him and would like to recommend Carlos to any songwriter."

"Lorin helped me hone my songwriting skills immensely, by not only teaching but collaborating with me when necessary. It was refreshing to find someone who put his teachings into practical learning, where I could see the outcomes become apparent. He’s a nice dude, and is experienced equally across his fields. He guided me to making intelligent choices for equipment purchases, both instruments and pro audio gear. We first met while he was living in New York, and boy has he traveled since. I think living in so many different states, and being that well journeyed has given him good cultural depth to his work. Check out some of his own collabs with singers and musicians from all over the world...that really says it all."

"My voice has significantly improved after lessons with Hannah. My tone and pitch have also improved dramatically. If you are interested in writing songs, Hannah is also a great teacher for that. I have written many songs since taking lessons from her. You don't even have to leave your home because Hannah can teach skype lessons. Many people don't like Skype lessons because they seem impersonal. I recommend trying a free lesson. You will see that Hannah makes it seem like she's there in person. I live in the country so this has been very convenient. I love her teaching style. She has empowered me to create many beautiful songs. She is very well qualified and knows what she's talking about."
