I am a professional full time Trombonist. At the same time, teaching has always been a big part of who I am - I love teaching. My music career has taken me around the world and back but more than that it has given me a wonderful tool of self expression, and for that I am forever grateful. My band performs regularly in Opera houses as well as coffee houses... Other than the Trombone I do play the Trumpet as well, and I have over 8 years of Piano under my belt.
About reut
I am a trombonist and teacher, with many years of experience teaching Hebrew as well as music.
As a music teacher I have worked with children starting from private lessons to young children beginning to learn, up to master classes in universities worldwide. I love teaching, and I feel confident teaching trombone and trumpet up to advanced level. For piano, I would prefer to stay with beginners and young ones only :) - but I promise you they will have a wonderful experience (and yes, I do have 8 years of piano studies under my belt).
As a Hebrew teacher, I teach both Hebrew reading and pronunciation and modern conversational Hebrew. My professional experience includes teaching at Golda Och Academy in West Orange, B'nai Abraham in Livingston, Central Synagogue in Manhattan and more, as well as many private lessons. In

In the first few lessons beginner students will work on breathing techniques to focus on producing a clear sound. Breathing is something we all do every day, but breathing for trombone playing is a skill to work on from day one for as long as you play your instrument! Buzzing, slide positions, and reading music will all be layered together to start making music!
About Justin
I studied music at the College of New Jersey and have orchestral, wind ensemble, brass quintet, pit orchestra, jazz, and drum and bugle corps performance experience. I am currently pursuing my Master of Arts in Teaching Music at Montclair State University.

Professional jazz trombonist with 5 years of teaching experience! Especially experienced in teaching beginners.
Proficient in teaching all styles of music to all ages and levels.
Lessons are customized and catered to the needs/goals of each student. Instead of simply training students to read music and play notes, I prefer to teach my students to think, play, and act like musicians. My lessons feature improvisation skills, sight-reading, playing by ear, building a strong technical foundation and music analysis.
I assure you will see leaps of improvement by working with me!
About Alejandro
I originally arrived in NYC from Argentina at 9-years old. The rich musical environment of NYC allowed me to study and absorb all styles of music at a young age.
I have had the opportunities to study with trombone masters such as Michael Dease, Jason Jackson and Wycliffe Gordon. These learning experiences directly affect the development of my students.
I currently play in a wide range of musical situations all over NYC, from jazz combos and big bands, to musicals and classical orchestras and even other genres such as
As my student, you will develop critical skills that will help build a strong musical foundation which will define you as a musician. I will evaluate the level in which you currently are and provide a clear defined path in order to reach our goals.

I can't wait to work with you and help you reach your ultimate goals!

I studied with some of the finest trombonists in the world while getting my undergrad degree in Jazz Studies from The Juilliard School in New York City. I have played the horn for over 13 years, and for 6 years professionally in New York working with people such as Wynton Marsalis, Ron Carter, Jazz at Lincoln Center, The Juilliard Jazz Orchestra, in addition to regular performances at high level jazz clubs such as Dizzy's Club Coca-Cola. Also as a composer I can offer lessons on composition, music theory, improvisation, ear training, and piano as well.
In addition to performance success, I have been teaching private students for 5 years, with several students still coming back when they are in town after several years.
Beginning students can expect to work on fundamentals of getting a good sound on the instrument and learning scales, arpeggios, and simple melodies.
Intermediate students can expect to be learning repertoire (the style dependent on what the student wants) and ...
About Will
My students can expect a very knowledgable and straightforward teacher, but not a harsh one. I believe that everybody finds their inspiration at their own time and my job as a teacher is to do my best to correct technical issues as they arise, but to also provide materials that will inspire and want to push you forward.
Because I have studied and performed at a high level, I am prepared to take on whatever problems Advanced and intermediate students have to offer.
My background as a Youth Minister in the Methodist Church granted me patience that also opens up the possibility to teaching beginning students. Truth be told, I had to re-learn many things when I arrived to New York in order to correct bad habits that I learned in high school. So I have gone through the process of building from the ground up and have a defined system to provide a foundation to build upon for a great musical future.
Having worked with many fantastic musicians such as Wynton Marsalis, Elliot Mason, and Ron Carter, I have been immersed in a depth of American music that most people have not.
I look forward to providing you with guidance and inspiration!
