I worked with Andrew for over 2 years learning the drums. Fabulous teacher! Andrew taught me technique, timing, different genres of drumming but most importantly inspired me to keep stretching in my playing. His love of music shines through his teaching.

Awesome teacher! Not just a great drummer, but patient and articulate. He was really able to help me understand and execute in ways I never could before. Seems like he would also be great with kids...super patient and encouraging!
Janna R.
David is a very skilled drummer and a very enthusiastic teacher. In lessons, he seems to like to split time between practicing rudiments and learning to play different rhythms on the set. He is also exceptionally patient and supportive with my 9-year-old, highly distractible daughter. David is very positive, pointing out things that are going well and interesting rhythms that they discover. I am really glad we found David--he is an excellent teacher and I love watching my daughter learn so much about music!

Jean Pierre has been an amazing teacher for my son, who is learning the drums. We have weekly lessons scheduled and Jean Pierre is always on time and ready to begin the lesson. He has vast knowledge of drums and other percussion instruments and is able to teach with patience and approachability when Xander has questions. We were first worried about having an online drum teacher (Jean Pierre lives in Malta). But it has been flawless as we have used the take lessons application to connect and set up a stand by the drum set so Jean Pierre can see Xander's drumming. We are very happy with Jean Pierre as Xander's teacher and would recommend him to other students.

I've been teaching music for 15 years and my students have gone on to play in bands and some even went on to study music in college. Within the first few lessons, you'll be able to play a few basic rock patterns and as time goes on you'll be able to play fills while also keeping the music steady. I specialize in understanding rhythms and practicing them slowly in order to develop the physical coordination which is needed to be successful on the drum kit. Generally I will make recordings for you to play along with. This makes it easier and fun to practice. I love working with students of all ages and experience levels and I can't wait to meet you!

About Michael

Michael C. was eleven years old when he began to play the electric bass guitar. He decided to get an electric bass because it was the one instrument needed to start a band among his friends. In addition to playing the electric bass, Michael enjoyed time practicing on the guitar and piano in high sc

Besides teaching drum set and marching percussion (see description on "drums"), I also teach varied auxiliary and mallet percussion found in a typical middle-high school percussionist piece. Lessons can be on orchestral snare, mallet percussion (vibraphone, marimba, xylophone, glockenspiel, etc.), timpani, concert bass drum, auxiliary percussion (triangle, crash cymbals, etc.) and basics of hand percussion (bongos, congas, esp. goblet drums).

Lessons are tailored to the individual student and their experience, goals, and materials available. Having the respective instruments at the teaching location is preferred, but the minimum materials required are drumsticks, a drum pad, and a stand for the drum pad.

About Kevin

I've been involved in music since fifth grade loved it since! As a performer, I was heavily involved in my high school's music program being involved in: the advanced jazz band (drum set), advanced choir (baritone), musical pit (drum set/auxiliary percussion), show band (vibraphone/tenor drums), an

"Zaky is great with my son who has a history of brain injury which causes him to have short term memory problems. In just a few weeks he has much more confidence in himself and is even a slight bit ahead in band class. He is now able to help some of the other students which he loves. There are very few things that at school that don't overwhelm him, and Zaky has helped him find success in music."

"Kevin Rank is an outstanding teacher.! My son is just beginning his 5th year of lessons with Kevin Rank. In the last 5 years, my son has grown from a shy, unsure, extremely quite young man into a confident, 3 time all region percussion player. My boy has grown not only in his musical ability, but in his overall development. I am a strong believer that music is quintessential for all individuals. I am happy to have Kevin Rank helping my son to achieve his full potential as a percussionist and as a leader. He has made impressive advancements in his marimba playing, and Mr. Rank is instrumental in helping him achieve these goals."

"Steve D. is an excellent teacher! My daughter is in the band at her middle school, and she started taking lessons a few weeks before school started. She was worried about having to play a part on the bells that she did not know. Steve showed her exactly how to play it, and she was able to play the whole piece before leaving her lesson. She came worried, and she left confident! Steve is very patient, and is able to answer any question you ask him regarding percussion. He is very kind as well, and I would recommend him to anyone who needs lessons."

*How to play the drums with different genres of music

"I am a high school band director and Cameron was our percussion instructor last school year. He did a wonderful job with the students! He covered all areas of percussion from marching band, to concert band, and even percussion ensemble. He pushed the students and expanded their skills on all percussion instruments, all while keeping things engaging for the students. He programmed for and rehearsed our three percussion ensembles last year. Cameron was an integral part of our band program and our students loved working with him!"
