Drum Lessons in Davisville. Amazing Teachers.

I curtail each lesson to the Students needs no matter what level to go at their pace, and yet give them the tools necessary to improve proficiently and quickly. I enjoy sharing my experience and knowledge with drummers of all backgrounds and experience level, and take immense pride in watching my students grow and improve in their craft!

Together we will go from basic coordination exercises all the way to advanced grooves. We will talk about the composition of a drum part to a song. Aside from drum set technique, we can also learn hand drum techniques. In a world where you can not always bring a drum set to every gig, we will learn how we use other percussion instruments to achieve the same feel as using a drum set.

My lessons are both fun and educational, with flexibility to honor each student's needs and goals. During my time as a drummer, I have had the pleasure of studying music with Dr. Richard Ripani, Eddie Bell, and renowned big band drummer Duffy Jackson in Nashville, TN. I graduated in May 2017 with a degree in Studio Music/Jazz Performance at UT Knoxville, studying with Professor Keith Brown. I want to pass on all the knowledge I gained from them to you! ABOUT ME: I’m a drum teacher and artist who resides and has a studio space in Northborough, MA. I primarily teach at my studio, but will also travel to your home or have lessons via Skype or FaceTime. I have been playing drums since I was 6. I first started teaching in 2000. I could never fathom my life being void of this connection and want to pass on this healthy bond to others.

The diversity and abilities of my current and former students speak to my innate ability to connect, efficiently and effectively, and to teach. If you asked each of them independently, they share this common answer: they come away with a solid understanding of rhythm and the role of the drummer in a band, as an accompanying instrument, as a sound-base for meditation, as well as a holding the firm knowledge of the techniques and attitudes that make for excellent musicianship.

I teach the basics of drumming (technique, rudiments, four-way coordination and limb independence) as well as any and all styles related to drum set including rock, jazz, funk, hip-hop, country, Latin and much more. Lessons are customized for the students based on their interest and experience. I will cover the basics and rudiments with new students but allow them to create and follow their own musical path using a variety of methods and musical styles.
