As someone who was nervous and horrible at singing Joe made me feel comfortable and confident.

About Geoff

I played on a toy piano when I was very young, learning a bit of sight reading from my Mother, while listening to classical, jazz, and rock music. When I was 12, I learned guitar and later took private piano lessons from a prominent Philadelphia instructor. After playing in a rock band in high sc

I totally enjoyed my class with Geoff. We immediately started my lesson with tuning the ukulele. Then we went over the cords and strumming. I have been researching on playing the ukulele and his explanation on the strumming was a lot better than the book. He is teaching me how to play by listening to the notes which is great because I would be able to play the Hawaiian music for my hula classes. In addition, his studio is only a 5 minute drive from my house, which means I don’t have to deal with traffic.

"Hannah's awesome! I contacted her mainly for songwriting feedback but also for guidance while applying and auditioning for BYU's commercial music program. She always went above and beyond in assisting me from songwriting, to voice lessons, to guidance with production and recording and navigating the local music scene. Hannah knows what she is talking about in both vocal and music techniques, as well as the business side of music. And even more important, she truly loves what she does and has a natural ability for teaching in a way that will help you grow immensely! If you are even slightly on the fence about taking lessons from her, don't be--you won't be disappointed!"

It's a year and a half later and I'm still benefitting from his tutelage. From beginner to advanced, you've found the right guy for the job."

"Having worked with Greg over the course of several years now, I have the deepest respect for his teaching ability. As a performer with over 25 years of experience, I find it a rare and special talent for someone as gifted as Greg is (as an artist) to be as humble and willing to listen as he most certainly is. He promotes a learning atmosphere of safety while also ensuring excellence is produced by students. His grasp on musical theory is second to none, and his skill as a seasoned guitarist ensures that what is being taught by him is both credible and of the highest standards.
I am privileged to know Greg personally as well as professionally, and I can vouch (once again) for his humility, skill, professionalism, credibility as a working artist, integrity, and work ethic. His heart is to watch the lights go on in his students and his passion in doing so serve to distinguish him as one of th"

Songwriting 101: Using the "Long-Line" Concept

One of the most wonderful and rewarding things about the art of songwriting is that there are many different ways to approach making your own music. Arlington,TX music teacher Ric F. previously shared with us his tips on using rhythm as a guide to writing. Today, Ric would like to add another aspect to your understanding of writing songs, something he calls the "long-line" concept. Unlike visual art where you can see it all at once, music takes “time” to reveal itself. Today I would like …
