Highly recommend. I played flute in high school (15 years ago) and am new to keyboard as a hobby. He's attuned to my level of comprehension and has been helping me master skills at a good pace. Highly proficient musician and instructor; answers all my questions and demonstrates songs/skills as we go. Has an excellent Zoom setup using multiple views, which has made remote learning a breeze. Thanks Aaron!

Aaron was great with my son who is just starting out with drums. He slowed down where my son needed more support and sped up when he was gaining skills quickly. The support with recordings of the lessons and practice plan for the week is fantastic and the multiple camera views during the lesson was really helpful when showing techniques.

Murray is friendly and accessible. He is able to combine his skill with an obvious love of teaching. His approach seems to emphasize technical skill, fun, and a bit of boldness on the student's part. I appreciate his ability to represent the many potentials of drumming, not just as an art but also as a modality of expression and healing that can meet the needs of the moment for a person or a community.

Murray was an AWESOME teacher! Learning musical instrument via zoom sounds like it may be difficult or not as productive as in person but Murray proved that wrong. Each class was fun and interactive and came away feeling more confident than the last.

For past 8 years, I've been teaching students Pre K- 8th grade to play percussion instruments to create a rhythm and keep a beat. They were taught to explore different percussion instruments. As a music student, you'll learn about drums, tambourines, xylophones, and other instruments you strike, shake, or rub to make music. You will also learn the types and parts of percussion instruments and then explore how pitch changes based on the size of the air column.

I was out of town when my 15-year old son had his lesson with Kevin, so I sent a text to my son to find out how it went. "He is the best guitar teacher ever!!" my son replied. I think that says it all.

I've got a drum set, a djembe, and a dumbek in my studio. Along with many shakers, a wooden fish, lots of sticks, tambourines.... We can start at the beginning of counting to four or work out of the the book Pure Rhythm by Adam Rudolph if you are really into advanced Polyrhythms.

My first lesson was a lot of fun! Peter is great at helping you feel at ease and comfortable. I was extremely nervous and he was great with making me feel like I was right at home with a friend! I also appreciate that he is not rigid in his teaching techniques or format. He caters your lesson to what your learning desires are and is very good at recognizing your skill level (or lack of 😁). I also appreciate how encouraging he is. I’m super excited to continue on my Saxophone journey!

My child really enjoyed his first lesson with peter. Peter is a very talented musician and he made the lesson fun! My child seemed to learn a lot from just one lesson with peter and he enjoys practicing what he learned at home.

I play and teach a variety of percussion instruments, including hand drums (congas, tubano, djembe, bongos), xylophone and other toned percussion, shaker-type instruments, tambourine, guiro, etc.
Percussion instruments are a great way to introduce very young children to playing music. In the past, I taught music classes to toddlers and preschoolers, with an emphasis on percussion. I have also taught percussion to teens and adults.

About Linda

I have been teaching music (guitar, bass guitar, keyboard, banjo, mandolin, ukulele, recorder, music theory, and classes for toddlers, preschoolers, school-aged children, and adults) for over 20 years. I am also a band/show director at the School of Rock! In addition to teaching music, I also tuto

"Kevin is a fantastic instructor!

I have been taking private lessons from Kevin for two years now as we'll as receiving instruction in Band for the last three years. Kevin not only is an incredible percussionist himself, but he has a knack for being able to convey ideas to students that they can understand. New and better approaches to teaching rhythm, personalized lesson planning to suit a student's needs, and a vast knowledge of music from years of professional experience are just a few things that Kevin brings to the table. If you're looking for a percussion instructor, I would highly recommend Kevin as your first choice!"

"To the extent of what I learned in my experience, Andrew is a great percussion teacher for students looking to join a band or marching band. He obviously had a great amount of knowledge and experience with the instrument itself but also the teaching of it. By the end of the first lesson we had already moved to patterns with 8 strikes on each hand and was presented with an arsenal of other exercises for afterwards to find a rate of improvement when given time. He is a very patient teacher and is sensitive to mistakes and which ones to focus on. I could safely recommend him to any of my friends who are also into percussion, and can speak from experience that any nervousness of getting a new teacher quickly dissolves after the first lesson. Great teacher."

"Rainice has helped me grow tremendously as a musician and develop a greater appreciation for percussion. I've studied with her for two years now and she is always super welcoming and positive in her approach. Rainice has helped me organize my audition preparation, overcome various technical issues I was having--especially on auxiliary percussion and marimba, and develop a better ear which has been particularly helpful for playing in orchestral settings. She has also given me lots of helpful advice based on her experiences in the field. Highly recommend!"
