My teaching style is very flexible & hands on. My goal is to make beautiful music and I do this by taking technical exercises and giving them musical meaning. This means I focus on the ideas of time, vocabulary & dynamic playings, but within this still teaching essential technical exercises in order to create a well-rounded musician.
After each lesson I will email detailed notes, as well as any supplemental documents and/or music.
About Ross
Using my experience I am able to cater my lessons to students of all abilities, be it brand new or a seasoned player. I shape my curriculum to fit the needs of each and every student I meet & my end goal is always with the goal of maximizing their creativity potential to its fullest.

I have been playing drums for over 30 years. I have toured with bands, recorded albums and played with many different musicians. I have also learned to play other instruments such as guitar and piano. And I have found great amazement and wonder while continuously learning on this musical journey. I can give a wide perspective, not just from the drum throne. Drumming can be a very special part of your life. It does not have to be a career, but can be an amazing way to express yourself and learn about the world through many different rhythms and patterns. Music can be very formal, but there's also a lot of room for everyone to learn about improvisation and self expression.
About Robert
I have been playing drums in some form or another for over 30 years. I currently play with a cover band that plays mostly rock from spanning from the 50's to today's music. I have recorded a few albums with bands that I've played with over the years and even toured a little along the way. I have

I am thrilled to hear that you or your kid is ready to start taking drum lessons! I have been teaching drum set and percussion for eleven years, and last year finished my master's in percussion performance at CU, after a music education degree in Michigan.
I start students off with "repeat after me" style exercises to develop technique, coordination, and musical tone on the instruments. Then, we can dig into playing the music (s)he loves! I'm always curious to hear if there is a certain band or drummer my student admires?
About Stephen
Hey drummers! I am a working drummer and percussionist in all major styles, from blues, funk, and jazz to classical and marching band. In my off time, I enjoy playing in the mountains with my girlfriend and our cat.

I offer 24 years of experience playing, and 17 years teaching privately and as a public school band director. My curriculum focuses on technique, theory, style, and interpretation.
To develop quality drumming technique, an emphasis on playing position, grip, and sticking is incorporated in each portion of a given lesson.
The importance of theory and rudiments is outlined and taught with each lesson. A challenging assignment to improve technical ability and music theory knowledge directly correlated to the assigned repertoire will help students understand the structure of the music they are practicing.
Students will dedicate practice time to both rudimental drumming and set drumming. Demonstrating the highest level of performance and knowledge of a piece is the desired result. A portion of each lesson is also dedicated to students learning the various styles on the drum set.
If you are up for a challenging and fun workout on the drums, hit me up for lessons!

Hear From TakeLessons Drum Students
Over the past 12 years, we've given over 3,000,000 lessons to happy customers around the world.

Our son, Jonah, has been taking lessons with Mike for a little over 18 months. It was one of the best decisions we ever made for him. Mike established rapport with Jonah very quickly. He has learned our son's quirks, likes, capabilities - and tailors instruction accordingly. Mike is very professional, reliable, and there has never been a disconnect with communication. His studio is inviting to visitors, and we're so lucky to have him teach in our neighborhood."

What do you call a drummer without a girlfriend/boyfriend? Homeless! OUCH!! Funny but all too often true.
