Experienced trombone teacher of 7 years available for eager students of all playing levels and ages! I structure my lessons so students learn what they want to learn, while also building a strong foundation of technical and musical skills. I specialize in both classical and jazz styles, emphasize musicianship and ear training, implement a variety of books and exercises, and also have the following tools available to use during lessons: in-home studio, keyboard, and music stand.

I studied trombone at college and have taught private trombone lessons over the last 10 years.

Graduate in Music Performance from the Indiana University School of Music. My renowned teachers include Edwin Anderson (Cleveland Orchestra), Lewis Van Haney (New York Philharmonic) and Robert Tennyson (Kennedy Center Orchestra).
We all descend from the great "Chief" trombone teacher: Emory Remington - and that is the method I teach beginners. Along the way I support your needs and desires to grow in your musical understanding and appreciation, and excel at the greatest instrument ever made - The Trombone!

As a trombonist, I have been playing my instrument for the past 16 years, as well as tuba, bass trombone and euphonium. I have had the opportunities to perform across the country and world with prestigious groups. Not only that, but have also been in the realms of music education, where I have been teaching music of all ages for the last 7 years. I taught privately in both New Mexico and Texas, and I have also been a band director teaching in Texas. I believe that every student has the potential to grow with the correct guidance and a great teacher-student relationship. If you are choosing to making music a hobby, that is okay, because these lessons will also build your life skill, such as responsibility, independence, and leadership. Those choosing to make music as a career, I will guide you to taking the correct path and aim to achieve your goals.

I am currently a trombone major at the New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music and have studied with some of the best trombonists in New York. I have a lot of playing and teaching experience, having performed at venues such as Carnegie Hall, Jazz at Lincoln Center, and many other venues around the city. I can teach you any style you are interested in and will make sure you have fun doing it.

I've had the unique experience of relearning how to become a musician after being away from it for several years. I joined the Air Force after high school and decided to pick up my Trombone to pursure my love of music once I got out. After a lot of time and effort I can happily say I now attend ASU where I play both Bass and tenor trombone. I have playing experience in both jazz and classical. I hope to share my experience and to provide an avenue to become a better musician.
