About Richard
I have studied, performed and taught music for over 30 years. Accordion was my first instrument at age 7 which was a great introduction to the keyboard, melody and harmony. That was followed by guitar and other stringed instruments (Banjo, Ukulele) as well as drums. I studied with great teachers

I specialize in flamenco guitar, one of the most challenging styles of guitar playing. The techniques and fundamentals of flamenco are valuable resources for any guitarist, regardless of genre or style. While everything is taught through the filter of flamenco, students will gain a wealth of knowledge applicable to the guitar in general.
One can expect to start by developing a full technical routine aimed at developing stamina, strength, precision, and speed. All fundamental techniques will be introduced, including arpeggios, rasgueados, pulgar, alzapúa, picado, tremelo, ligado, and golpe. Rhythm plays a critical role in flamenco and will be emphasized throughout. Harmony studies will be introduced where appropriate. Repertoire will be given according to each student's capabilities and tastes, including resources for accompanying dance and singing.
My own teachers have included master guitarists Pedro Sierra, Pedro Barragán, and Paco Cortés. I'm also influenced by the music of ...

I have a long experience teaching students of all levels and ages. I am patient, friendly, and I strive to make my lessons as entertaining and informational as possible.
My curiosity as a musician has led me to become familiar with most genres of guitar music. I also have an excellent ear and I can pick out any song you are interested in learning right away and make an easy arrangement according to your level.

Antonio focuses a lot on flamenco and classical technique and music as well as practicing performing, applied to any music genre.
Because of how shy I am its been hard for me to perform but with the lessons I have received the confidence to perform for family and friends!
He is a great guitarist, very recommended!"

Looking forward to working with Bem for a long time...."

I also called Edward when I was choreographing a play at MiraCosta College and needed a guitarist to create the music for the play and perform it live. He is extremely creative, a problem-solver, and team-player. I couldn't ask for a better person to do the job."

I have learned so much in the little time I've been taking lessons with David.
Not only is he extremely talented, but he's also very patient when it comes to teaching (which is necessary when I don't grasp the techniques right away).
I started off as a beginner, knowing nothing about how to play the guitar, and am now recognizing notes and memorizing and playing full songs.
He is very flexible with hours, and genuinely has a passion for Flamenco music!
Two thumbs up!!"
