Experienced drummer with 13 years of experience, performing in multiple bands genres ranging from Rock, Blues, Jazz, Punk, Country, and more.

I began learning drums through Rock Band, yes.. I said a video game. After a month or two I was playing songs on hard or expert difficulty and I soon began applying the rhythms and rudiments I was learning in Rock Band to a real drum set. I began playing drums every day. I played in a few different bands in my teen years, recorded in studios and currently I accompany musicians around San Diego regularly.

About Kevin

I am a Multi-Instrumentalist who teaches Guitar, Drums, Bass, Music Production, Audio Engineering, Cinematography, Photography, and Video Editing. My instrumental experience includes 13 years of live performance, recording and songwriting. I focus my lessons around the understanding of music the

Great lesson, I leaned so much from Kevin! He has so much patience and is really good with giving tips and tricks.

Highly recommend Kevin! Just started drums and did 2 months of lessons with him at his in-home studio. Really cool set up, and he listens to what you’re interested in learning, while also recommending what to practice during the week between lessons. Also had a few jam sessions with him which were awesome!
Super chill guy, and I’m sure he’s great for every skill level and age. Thanks Kevin, will be back soon for follow up sessions!

Kevin is very resourceful and his instruction is clear and effective. As someone who did not have any experience with music software before, I’m already getting familiar with Logic and making songs with it after few weeks. Looking forward to future lessons.

Great Teacher

Yuichi has been a really great teacher for our 7 years old son. He is very patient and really great with kids. He's made a real effort to get our son interested in drumming and music more generally, introducing to different sounds, rhythms and types of music. My son really enjoys his lesson and is making good progress!

Our son is 7 years old and started drum lessons with Yuichi several months ago. My son absolutely loves his classes with Yuichi and would go more than once a week if he could. We are very happy with Yuichi. He makes the lesson fun and interesting for our son, and at the same time teaching him what he needs to know so he continues to make progress. He is a great match for our son.

I'm into my second month of weekly guitar lessons with Brett and can't believe how well I am playing already!! I've had some basic guitar lessons in the past but still very much a beginner. Brett knew precisely where to start and what I needed next to advance my playing, and broke it down into attainable steps. So far I've learned a good handful of strum patterns; I can finally play two songs pretty well and sing along; and I am in the rudimentary stage of learning to finger pick. Really love the fact that beautiful sounds are coming from my instrument! Highly recommend if you're ready to make the commitment to becoming a capable player.

What a terrible experience. I signed up for lessons for my wife from Brett as a gift because he listed times that would work for my wife given that we have a young daughter, and have a hard time making time for lessons. Brett told us 3 days before the lesson that the time wouldn't work, then simply never showed for the rescheduled first lesson. Worse, he simply refused to do scheduling via email (he would leave voicemails and failed to return my wife's call when she called back as they were playing phone tag), and then told us he had another commitment during the slot we had supposedly reserved for him. Worse, he failed to update the site as he continually cancelled lessons and never showed up for scheduled times. I now have a huge hassle of getting a refund on the money I paid for lessons as opposed to a lovely gift for my wife. Life's too short and we're too busy for such an awful experience.

Great teacher for my young daughter

Brett has been a great teacher for my 5 year old daughter. She is just learning the basics of piano and Brett has been great at expanding her skill sets. She really enjoys practicing with him and actually looks forward to when he comes over every week!

Mike taught Leo in person before the pandemic started and has been doing online lessons with him for the past eight months. He is amazing with both. Leo has a very short attention span, but a deep love for music. Mike has been able to hold Leo’s attention every week for over a year — even during online lessons. Leo has become an awesome little pianist, and has developed a love for the piano. It has given him the ability to express all of his feelings and has helped his attention span for his schoolwork. Mike has so much patience, and always inquires about Leo’s favorite activities. He is great with kids and makes them feel so comfortable. Leo loves his “booming voice” and the free play blues music they get to play together every lesson.

"I started lessons with Bobby about 2 years ago as a total beginner with an awful case of performance anxiety. I'd never picked up a drum stick in my life, but decided on a whim that I wanted to play along with my favorite rock songs. The first song I wanted to learn was by Motley Crue, and without any hesitation whatsoever, Bobby walked me (the complete novice, mind you) through Tommy Lee's crazy-tough grooves and fills. Thanks to Bobby's patience and guidance, I can now play that song and many of my other favorites.

Bobby has been an incredible teacher; he is consistently patient, kind, and fun. He has a great way of creating engaging lessons that include a mix of learning to play specific songs and also working on drills that make playing those songs a little easier. If you're looking for a talented, supportive, and down to earth drum teacher, Bobby's your guy! I highly recommend him!"

"Andrew is an awesome drum teacher! I started studying with him in a group class setting, where he easily worked with students of all ages and levels of musical experience to teach the fundamentals of drumming. I moved into private lessons with him, which he always balanced nicely focusing on a variety of things: technique, exercises, reading, listening and songs. He is very skilled and knowledgeable, dependable and a wonderfully nice guy. I learned so much from him in the years that I studied with him and was sad to see him leave Los Angeles. I highly recommend him as a drum teacher for students of all ages!"
