From jazz to pop to classical repertoire, I can can guide towards playing any brass instrument you are interested in! Having played trumpet for 18 years I have acquired the skills needed to be a professional brass player. Brass instruments are challenging and wonderful. I've studied many techniques that I now apply to my own playing and will be able to apply to yours.

He is a trumpet player, electronic musician, and composer living in Brooklyn, NY. He attended New England Conservatory of Music where he received a Bachelors degree in Jazz Studies.

This Cole is King! I would give Cole 10 stars if it were possible. I had lessons with Cole in the summer of 2014 on the trumpet and let me tell you the guy is a giant on trumpet. I learned so much. I learned more in a summer's lessons with Cole than most people get in years. He made learning trumpet a lot of fun but at the same time I leaned basic skills, like how to keep beat and count. Can't say enough.

About Matthew
Music has been a part of my life since I was 5 years old, when my father would record my brother and I singing. I always loved singing and learned many of my favorite songs as a child.

I started playing the trumpet in the 4th grade, which has led me all the way to receiving my degrees in Trumpet Performance and Music Education! I was lucky enough to attend one of the nation's top music schools, The Peabody Institute, and I now work toward my Master's degree at California State University, Long Beach. I have enjoyed performing in everything from big-band-lead to principal trumpet in the orchestra, leading brass quintets and brass ensembles, and much more! The trumpet has been a huge passion for as long as I can remember now!

While I was learning songs as a child, I decided I wanted to join a band! Now here we are 10 years later and
I've have the fortune of performing as a lead singer in bands across the country, and let me tell you there is no bigger thrill than getting in-front of a crowd full of cheering fans, performing music you love.

I've also been playing the guitar for just under 10 years. Playing the guitar has been both a complete joy, but also a fantastic learning experience. I have been learning songs of my favorite artists and even written my own material, and having the opportunity to immerse myself in my favorite music and create music of my own has taught me so much more about music and being a musician. I hope to impart this experience onto all of my students.

Whether it's trumpet, voice, or guitar, I love all things music and my #1 objective is to for my students to learn how it feels to experience what music REALLY has to offer, so to you reading this, let's make some noise!

*** Lesson Details ***
For starters, understand that you're going to have a blast! Within months of working together, I'll have you playing your favorite songs, or feeling prepared for that upcoming audition. I remember what it was like to have second thoughts about auditioning and performance, and I'll make sure those thoughts are a thing of the past for you!

During our lessons, I enjoy addressing the material you have to work on, whether in school or just for your own enjoyment. At the same time, I will present music and materials of my own, and I encourage you to do the same!

I have always enjoyed learning from my students as they have learned from myself, and I could only hope to express how rewarding it is when I see a student of mine progress from week to week and achieve their own goals.

Whether you are a beginner or an advanced player, you can be guaranteed we'll make steady progress and we will achieve your goals. Get ready to wow your friends and family!

*** Studio Equipment ***
Metronome
Post-it Notes
Music Stand(s)
Chairs
Computer/Internet
Keyboard
Guitar(s)

*** Travel Equipment ***
I would provide utilities including music stand, metronome, some external source of pitch.

I expect the student to bring any and all assigned music/material they wish to work on. The student will also begin the lesson prepared with basic necessities, including a pencil (please, no pens) and all music assigned from prior lesson (if this is a first-lesson, bring any/all music you currently have and/or are working on). Vocal students will bring a bottle of water. Trumpet students will have their own valve oil and mouthpiece (if not originally included with your horn).

*** Specialties ***
Trumpet methods include (not limited to) Arban's, Clarke, Sachs, Rubank, Getchell, Adam, Schlossberg, Colin, Bai Lin.

For instruments outside the trumpet, methods will address school curriculum, unless student has advanced beyond provided materials.

I strongly encourage students of voice, guitar, and piano to pick material of their choosing.

Classical and rock are the genres to which I am most attracted

I've been taking lessons with Matt for about 2 months now. Right away it was a very comfortable environment and vibe, which is important, especially as a beginning, aspiring singer. Takes the lessons slow and easy going at first, then jumps into exercises and focuses on directly what style the student is interested in. Very awesome dude, would definitely recommend! Thanks Matt!

Students can be expected to play not just repertoire provided from their school but also assignments given by me. I enjoy teaching to better my Students musicianship not just to get in to region band or get Superior ratings at solo and ensemble. Bettering ones musicianship will almost certainly lead to these things however.

About Jeremy
I am a college student working towards my music education degree. Helping students achieve their musical goals has always been extremely important to me. When I teach I prefer to focus on expanding a Student's musical ability rather than focus on a specific piece, however if there is a piece a student wants to learn I will surely be very willing to help.

Take lessons with a experienced teacher that actively performs and teaches. What makes me a good teacher is the fact that I struggled during the first few years that I started playing. I had a work through those struggles in order to become the musician I am today, so I know how to break things down and to cater lessons to each individual student. There is no cookie cutter method for all, we each have our own issues to work on. Some naturally gifted teachers will just tell you to play something and make it work...but since I had to work hard to become successful, I can use what I learned to help you to achieve success. I will help you to build a strong fundamental base and to turn your weaknesses into strengths! Whether you are preparing for school band or ensemble, for honor band auditions, college auditions, or solo and ensemble festivals, I would be happy to help you to become the musician that you want to become.

About Christian
I've been playing brass for over 20 years, and have been teaching for about 20 years as well. I am married, have two young children and two cats. I'm so blessed to have had the opportunities to perform and travel as a musician, and I wouldn't have made it to this point with out the Lord's blessing and without people in my live teaching me, mentoring me, and supporting me. It took a lot of work to get to this point, and if you work hard you can get there too. We all start in the same place, which is, knowing nothing, and we go from there! I would be happy to help you to get there as well.

Currently, I perform as the principal euphonium with the 40th Infantry Division Band of the Army National Guard, the principal euphonium of the Southern California Brass Consortium, and the principal euphonium with the Salvation Army's Western Ter
ritory Staff Band. I also play with my church brass band at the Salvation Army!

I have experience performing as a soloist in San Diego, Los Angeles, Boston, San Francisco, Las Vegas, New Jersey, Atlanta, Seattle, Norway, United Kingdom and most recently Angola. I've also performed in Alaska, Arizona, Denver, New York, Kentucky, Pennsylvania, Canada, Mexico, Brazil and Germany. I enjoy playing in almost any medium from Brass Band, Wind Ensemble, Orchestra, Big Band, and even Bavarian Octoberfest Bands. I've also been known to play a little valve trombone in contemporary worship bands, but don't tell any slide trombone players that because they tend to get jealous!

I have a passion for helping people grow and improve as musicians, whether you are 8 years old or 80 years old, or any age. We can all improve and grow!

Music making with the trombone is my greatest passion, and my primary goal is to foster this same passion for music within my students. I want to give my students the tools they need to progress as a musician on their own in their musical ability and expression in an atmosphere that not only makes producing music fun and engaging, but meaningful.

I have been playing trombone for nearly nine years and learned many things, both about music and life, on my journey in music. I want to share my experiences and these things that I have learned with whoever wants to take a lesson with me. I teach beginning students of any age who are just learning what an awesome instrument the trombone is, to advanced students that are passionate about the trombone and wanting to refine their skills and talent as a musician.

Listening is a big part of my pedagogy, and I push the importance of listening to great music, whatever it may be, as well as great trombonists, just as much as practicing. I ...

About Daniel
I have been playing trombone for nearly nine years and am a trombone performance major at the Bob Cole Conservatory of Music, at CSU Long Beach; I am a student of Steve Trapani.

I have been a member of the El Paso Symphony Youth Orchestra in El Paso, Texas and am currently a member in many other large ensembles including: The Bob Cole Wind Symphony, The Bob Cole Conservatory Symphony, and the Orange County Youth Symphony. I have also earned sub positions at the American Youth Orchestra, and YMF's Debut Chamber Orchestra.

I have studied with many professional musicians, including: Steven Trapani, Michael Hoffman, Jeremy Wilson, William Booth, Robert Frear, Robert Cowan, and Joel Chavaria.

I have also attended masterclasses with Timothy Higgins, Ian Bousfield, Sergio Carolino, Jeremy Wilson, Megumi Kanda, Douglas Yeo, James Mille
r, Alex Iles, David Rejano Cantero, John Lofton, Randall Hawes, Michael Roylance, Robert Frear, David Cooper, Sean Reusch, Kyle Covington, Julie Landsman, Jen Baker, David Vining, Seth Vatt, Andrew Glendening, Scott Sutherland, and Gene Pokorny.

Another educational experience that I attribute to my growth as a musician took place during the summers that I attended high school, I marched Baritone and Euphonium for four seasons with, The Mandarins Drum and Bugle Corps, from Sacramento, California. The Mandarins are a World Class marching ensemble that competes in the Drum Corps International organization.

My pedagogy and philosophy is a mix of all the wisdom that I have acquired from all of these amazing musicians, and I want to share as much of it as I can with my students.

I’m a graduate student at University of Southern California with a performance background in many styles, including orchestra, jazz, contemporary, and even hip hop. Each of my trombone students have custom lesson plans tailored to their individual goals and needs. I emphasize the importance of finding joy through music, and we’ll also focus on fundamentals of playing with ease. I’d love to help you unlock your musical potential on this wonderfully versatile instrument! All ages welcome!

About Alex
I’m an aspiring freelance musician from Monument, Colorado, which is a small town in between Colorado Springs and Denver. I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Trombone Performance from Oberlin Conservatory, and I am currently pursuing a Master’s Degree from University of Southern California.

Before moving to Los Angeles, I have been active as a versatile trombonist all around the nation. I have performed in many incredible venues including Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Chicago Symphony Center, Pikes Peak Center for the Performing Arts, Kresge Auditorium, and Finney Chapel. In 2013, I participated in a brass quintet at Interlochen Arts Academy that performed live on Interlochen Public Radio, and placed in the semifinals of the Fischoff Chamber Competition. I have also participated in multiple recording projects on the Oberlin Record Label,
including Ricercare VI with guitar soloist Dieter Hennings and the pilot soundtrack for the TV show “Truth Slash Fiction”. During my time at Oberlin, I also premiered dozens of pieces with the Oberlin Contemporary Music Ensemble. At the Cleveland Museum of Art, I performed as a bass trumpet soloist on Harrison Birtwistle’s Cortege for 14 Musicians. Last spring I was able to perform on tour with Contemporary Music Ensemble at the Brooklyn Museum in New York City for the Bang on a Can 30th Anniversary Music Marathon.

In addition to my work as a graduate student at University of Southern California, I continue to find projects as an independent artist. I recently collaborated with soundcloud artist TapDaddy to record the album “To Be Perfectly Clear”, and I produce my own music as a hobby. I also work as a stagehand at Bovard Auditorium and I am a production assistant for Thornton School of Music. I coach a weekly pop combo class at St. Vincent Elementary School and I am hoping to maintain a private studio of 5 to 10 trombone students.

Each of my trombone students have custom lesson plans tailored to their individual goals and needs. I emphasize the importance of finding joy through music, and we’ll also focus on fundamentals of playing with ease. Message me if you’d like to work with me!
