From jazz to pop to classical repertoire, I can can guide towards playing any brass instrument you are interested in! Having played trumpet for 18 years I have acquired the skills needed to be a professional brass player. Brass instruments are challenging and wonderful. I've studied many techniques that I now apply to my own playing and will be able to apply to yours.

About Cole
On any given day you may find Cole K. improvising in a small club in Brooklyn, circuit-bending a Speak And Spell, or arranging horn parts for pop stars. He is a trumpet player, electronic musician, and composer living in Brooklyn, NY. K. is currently involved with a variety of projects including chamber indie band Cuddle Magic, People’s Champs (west African influenced dance music), and his own solo project for trumpet and laptop. He, along with The Superpowers Horns, arranged and recorded the horn parts for Beyonce Knowles’ two most recent albums (4 and Beyonce.) He attended New England Conservatory of Music where he received a Bachelors degree in Jazz Studies.

Cole tailors each lesson to the students needs. From learning the fundamentals of your instrument to expressing your individual creativity, the process is focused and fun. C
ole has taught 4 year olds to write songs and 40 year old how to play jazz trumpet.

This Cole is King! I would give Cole 10 stars if it were possible. I had lessons with Cole in the summer of 2014 on the trumpet and let me tell you the guy is a giant on trumpet. I learned so much. I learned more in a summer's lessons with Cole than most people get in years. He made learning trumpet a lot of fun but at the same time I leaned basic skills, like how to keep beat and count. Can't say enough.

About Matthew
Music has been a part of my life since I was 5 years old, when my father would record my brother and I singing. I always loved singing and learned many of my favorite songs as a child.

I started playing the trumpet in the 4th grade, which has led me all the way to receiving my degrees in Trumpet Performance and Music Education! I was lucky enough to attend one of the nation's top music schools, The Peabody Institute, and I now work toward my Master's degree at California State University, Long Beach. I have enjoyed performing in everything from big-band-lead to principal trumpet in the orchestra, leading brass quintets and brass ensembles, and much more! The trumpet has been a huge passion for as long as I can remember now!

While I was learning songs as a child, I decided I wanted to join a band! Now here we are 10 years later and
I've have the fortune of performing as a lead singer in bands across the country, and let me tell you there is no bigger thrill than getting in-front of a crowd full of cheering fans, performing music you love.

I've also been playing the guitar for just under 10 years. Playing the guitar has been both a complete joy, but also a fantastic learning experience. I have been learning songs of my favorite artists and even written my own material, and having the opportunity to immerse myself in my favorite music and create music of my own has taught me so much more about music and being a musician. I hope to impart this experience onto all of my students.

Whether it's trumpet, voice, or guitar, I love all things music and my #1 objective is to for my students to learn how it feels to experience what music REALLY has to offer, so to you reading this, let's make some noise!

*** Lesson Details ***
For starters, understand that you're going to have a blast! Within months of working together, I'll have you playing your favorite songs, or feeling prepared for that upcoming audition. I remember what it was like to have second thoughts about auditioning and performance, and I'll make sure those thoughts are a thing of the past for you!

During our lessons, I enjoy addressing the material you have to work on, whether in school or just for your own enjoyment. At the same time, I will present music and materials of my own, and I encourage you to do the same!

I have always enjoyed learning from my students as they have learned from myself, and I could only hope to express how rewarding it is when I see a student of mine progress from week to week and achieve their own goals.

Whether you are a beginner or an advanced player, you can be guaranteed we'll make steady progress and we will achieve your goals. Get ready to wow your friends and family!

*** Studio Equipment ***
Metronome
Post-it Notes
Music Stand(s)
Chairs
Computer/Internet
Keyboard
Guitar(s)

*** Travel Equipment ***
I would provide utilities including music stand, metronome, some external source of pitch.

I expect the student to bring any and all assigned music/material they wish to work on. The student will also begin the lesson prepared with basic necessities, including a pencil (please, no pens) and all music assigned from prior lesson (if this is a first-lesson, bring any/all music you currently have and/or are working on). Vocal students will bring a bottle of water. Trumpet students will have their own valve oil and mouthpiece (if not originally included with your horn).

*** Specialties ***
Trumpet methods include (not limited to) Arban's, Clarke, Sachs, Rubank, Getchell, Adam, Schlossberg, Colin, Bai Lin.

For instruments outside the trumpet, methods will address school curriculum, unless student has advanced beyond provided materials.

I strongly encourage students of voice, guitar, and piano to pick material of their choosing.

Classical and rock are the genres to which I am most attracted

I've been taking lessons with Matt for about 2 months now. Right away it was a very comfortable environment and vibe, which is important, especially as a beginning, aspiring singer. Takes the lessons slow and easy going at first, then jumps into exercises and focuses on directly what style the student is interested in. Very awesome dude, would definitely recommend! Thanks Matt!

I have been playing the trombone for the last 17 years, and love having the opportunity of helping others enjoy the process of learning. I have played my trombone all over the world and have been very fortunate to master many different styles of music. In a lesson I will do my very best to create the most productive experience possible for you. We have the option of working on technique, music from band or orchestra, improvisation, and anything else you would like to learn.

About Isaac
At the age of 26, American conductor Isaac is already establishing himself as one of the most impressive of his generation. His cross-genre musical acumen has resulted in a career that encompasses artistic activities spanning the symphonic, operatic, musical theater, and pops repertoire.

Isaac began gaining noticeable recognition in 2012, a year in which he was a Semi-Finalist for the American Prize in Conducting. That same summer he was a member of the Castleton Festival Orchestra, under the direction of the late Maestro Lorin Maazel, and was invited to join the orchestra on a groundbreaking international tour to Oman. In the year that followed, he served as Assistant Conductor to Metropolitan Opera Conductor J. David Jackson, at the Siena Music Festival in Italy. This included assisting with productions of Turn of the Screw, Cendri
llon, La Forza Del Destino, and I Vespri Siciliani, as well as several concerts.

A graduate of the New England Conservatory of Music, Isaac completed a Bachelor of Music in Trombone Performance, with Honors, under the tutelage of long-time Boston Symphony Orchestra and Boston Pops trombonist, Norman Bolter. During that time he simultaneously studied with BSO Associate Conductor, Marcelo Lehninger, with further mentorship from Bill Drury and Stephen Lord. His time at NEC was preceded by intensive study at the prestigious Orange County School For The Arts, where he received hands-on experience conducting his peers in the various school ensembles. During that time he also served as an apprentice to conductor Barry Silverman, who continues to serve as a mentor to this day. As a result, Isaac is regularly invited back to the school as a guest conductor and mentor to currently enrolled students.

His affinity for conducting pops repertoire was further cultivated during his time as Music Director of Celebrity Cruises, a multi-faceted role that entailed conducting and artistic planning and administration for all music programs in the Celebrity fleet, including the Theatre Orchestra.

Following in the footsteps of his icons, namely Leonard Bernstein and Gustavo Dudamel, Isaac has a passionate desire to bring music education and appreciation of the arts to all children in the belief that music can be a unifying force in the world. In 2016, Isaac co-founded the New York Conductors Symphony (NCS), in partnership with acclaimed violinist Eric Silberger. This innovative ensemble plays a pivotal role in fostering the next generation of conductors by providing them with opportunities to develop their talents in a creative environment of the highest artistic standard.

He continues to develop his unique skill set under the guidance of his current mentor, music director and conductor for broadway national tours, symphony pops guest conductor and arranger, Maestro David Andrews Rogers.

Trombone is, and should be, FUN. It's my main instrument, and I have 20 years of experience: both my Bachelor's and my Postgraduate Diploma are in Trombone Performance. If you want someone who knows the instrument inside and out, who can help you with intricate technical issues, and who is well acquainted with trombone repertoire and how our instrument is used in different styles and ensembles, I've got the knowledge and the skills -- and I'll do it all in a way that helps you LOVE playing.

About Holly
My 20 years of musical experience taught me that JOY is as important as knowledge and technique. We'll pursue a learning trajectory that suits you and your goals (large or small!), all while providing you with the encouragement to enjoy the process as well as the results. My teaching style is dynamic and positive; I want you to look forward to your lessons. And I have both the teaching and performing chops to challenge you and impart some serious skills.
I have my Bachelor of Music from the Peabody Conservatory and a Postgraduate Diploma in Trombone Performance from the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, England. I've taught a wide range of students -- from children who've never before picked up an instrument, to accomplished high schoolers, to adults who've always wanted to learn and finally have the freedom to do so.
I enj
oy helping people as much as I enjoy performing, and I'd love the chance to inspire and encourage you however I can.

I began playing trumpet again after a 45 years break (I played in HS). I was concerned because I tend to be very self-conscious and nervous. Holly is amazing, not only because of her technical expertise, but because she has taken all the stress and worry out of learning to play. She has made music what it should have always been ... FUN! I love our lessons together and enjoy practicing. She is a wonderful instructor and I would highly recommend her to anyone wanting to learn to play an instrument.

I'll be glad to answer any questions anyone may have.

Students can be expected to play not just repertoire provided from their school but also assignments given by me. I enjoy teaching to better my Students musicianship not just to get in to region band or get Superior ratings at solo and ensemble. Bettering ones musicianship will almost certainly lead to these things however.

About Jeremy
I am a college student working towards my music education degree. Helping students achieve their musical goals has always been extremely important to me. When I teach I prefer to focus on expanding a Student's musical ability rather than focus on a specific piece, however if there is a piece a student wants to learn I will surely be very willing to help.

Music making with the trombone is my greatest passion, and my primary goal is to foster this same passion for music within my students. I want to give my students the tools they need to progress as a musician on their own in their musical ability and expression in an atmosphere that not only makes producing music fun and engaging, but meaningful.

I have been playing trombone for nearly nine years and learned many things, both about music and life, on my journey in music. I want to share my experiences and these things that I have learned with whoever wants to take a lesson with me. I teach beginning students of any age who are just learning what an awesome instrument the trombone is, to advanced students that are passionate about the trombone and wanting to refine their skills and talent as a musician.

Listening is a big part of my pedagogy, and I push the importance of listening to great music, whatever it may be, as well as great trombonists, just as much as practicing. I ...

About Daniel
I have been playing trombone for nearly nine years and am a trombone performance major at the Bob Cole Conservatory of Music, at CSU Long Beach; I am a student of Steve Trapani.

I have been a member of the El Paso Symphony Youth Orchestra in El Paso, Texas and am currently a member in many other large ensembles including: The Bob Cole Wind Symphony, The Bob Cole Conservatory Symphony, and the Orange County Youth Symphony. I have also earned sub positions at the American Youth Orchestra, and YMF's Debut Chamber Orchestra.

I have studied with many professional musicians, including: Steven Trapani, Michael Hoffman, Jeremy Wilson, William Booth, Robert Frear, Robert Cowan, and Joel Chavaria.

I have also attended masterclasses with Timothy Higgins, Ian Bousfield, Sergio Carolino, Jeremy Wilson, Megumi Kanda, Douglas Yeo, James Mille
r, Alex Iles, David Rejano Cantero, John Lofton, Randall Hawes, Michael Roylance, Robert Frear, David Cooper, Sean Reusch, Kyle Covington, Julie Landsman, Jen Baker, David Vining, Seth Vatt, Andrew Glendening, Scott Sutherland, and Gene Pokorny.

Another educational experience that I attribute to my growth as a musician took place during the summers that I attended high school, I marched Baritone and Euphonium for four seasons with, The Mandarins Drum and Bugle Corps, from Sacramento, California. The Mandarins are a World Class marching ensemble that competes in the Drum Corps International organization.

My pedagogy and philosophy is a mix of all the wisdom that I have acquired from all of these amazing musicians, and I want to share as much of it as I can with my students.

Basics are very important in my teaching practice such as breathing, scales, etudes and of course musical interpretations.I will teach my students details and guide them through the instrument and later in life they won't have technical problems which occur with most brass players.Getting good habits instead of bad ones is very important in my lessons.together with your practice and patience and of course my skills as a teacher we can accomplish a lot. Also we always will have such a words as :I can do it and everything is possible.Personal approach is very important too. Each student comes with their own needs ,we will work on individual level to fix those problems.Thank you.Hope to see you in my class.
