Our drum classes explore Drum Technique, Rudiments, Reading Music and Playing a variety of musical styles including (Rock, Pop, Jazz and more)!

I began playing drums/percussion at the age of 10 and have been playing for over 20 years. I love playing and teaching all types of styles of music, especially jazz, rock, funk, Latin, and country. Within the first few lessons, I will provide you with tips on technique, how to practice, and how to listen to music in a new way. You will be grooving in no time!

I have studied under many world-renown teachers and have codified a method for creating a strong foundation for all aspects of playing the drums, covering in depth the three key aspects: muscle control, facility around the kit, and tone quality. Everything I teach is universal, it can be applied to any type of drumming.
No matter where you are in your drumming, you will walk away with an understanding of how to find the areas that need improvement and which practice techniques are most effective for you.

Attacking the students aspirations and goals of their personal requests to the trainer, and getting to know the client and where they would like to see themselves in a limited time of training so the clients money and time isn't left in the mud! We will play and organize our curriculum through music and melody, with a counted rhythm to the beat we are attacking. Listening to our favorite songs is a good way to learn how to play an instrument, it gives a familiar count and sound that we can connect to! Music is simple but fun so our sessions will always revolve around repetitive lessons ,BPM , counting, rhythm, and listening to many many songs and playing them!

Having performed jazz, funk, rock, pop, and blues, among other genres, I use the fluidity between these inform each of my lessons. Whether a student is a beginner looking to play their favorite song on the radio, an intermediate looking for some rhythm theory to give them more options in their playing, or an advanced player looking for improvisatory techniques, I tailor each session to the desires of each student and their learning style.

My experience spans over 25 years of performing and teaching every drumming style. Each lesson will include period of rudimental work, rhythm reading, and playing different styles behind the drum set. I believe in creating an environment that is focused on playing music well and where the student can have fun while gaining confidence. It is important to develop drummers into functional musicians with good technique, reading skills, and time. We will cover all styles of drumming from jazz to rock/pop, including funk, progressive rock, all of the Latin styles, even hybrid drumming and other percussion as desired.
