I've been playing guitar, composing multi-instrumental music, producing music, playing in professional and local bands, and have been an active studio session player for 17 years.
I have been teaching guitar for just as long, and helped many students understand break-through concepts and acquire skills that other teachers were unable to.
I have taught total and complete beginners to play their favorite song after 2 weeks, with 1 hour per day practice time. I taught my best friend and my brother to play guitar, both are now in professional touring bands.
About Peter
I have been composing and producing music for 20+ years. Since I got my first guitar at 13, I've been playing in bands, writing, recording & mixing songs. Touring with bands throughout the U.S. And personally learning from my network of industry veterans who have worked with bands such as: The Roll

Electric, Acoustic, Slide? What language does your soul speak? There are folks that play the blues professionally six nights a week and have for the last 50-plus years. While there are many exceptions to the rule, a majority of Blues songs use but three chords. Often these same three chords are played in the same order....song after song.... night after night.. Seems like it would get boring right? NO WAY!
The Blues is its owe musical beast! Born of the human body; vocals, stomps, claps, early Blues musicians took the strongest chordal resolve of Western Classical Music, the "five to one" (a G chord resolving to a C chord for instance), and built an entire musical mentality around it. Borrowing 'what you want' from Classical music and adding syncopation or 'emphasis on weak beats' (tap quarter notes to "Who Do You Love?" by Bo Diddley. Notice that only the first and last notes of the riff hit with your tapping, the rest are 'syncopated') makes for a freedom of expression never ...

I can honestly say that Christian has exceeded my expectations, but it might be for the non-musical aspect that he has. As far as ability goes, just watch his videos and you will see he knows much more than necessary to teach anyone else how to play. However, what makes Christian so great at teaching is that he doesn't translate that ability into unreasonable expectations for his students. He realizes the personal nature of music and will help the student achieve their own personal goals and even more, if the student wishes to do so and puts in the practice and effort of learning.
He has been very good at building on what he has previously taught. Christian has also given much attention to where I seem to connect with music, which is personal only to me. I don't connect to music the same as he does. He knows that and makes an effort to see music from the way I am seeing it, at least he does that during our time in the studio together. This helps each student be the best that THEY can be. This is what a good teacher does. A great teacher also, with time, slowly makes himself obsolete. He teaches the student to figure out how to teach themselves. Christian does this as well. It is not his intention to lose students. But he absolutely wants me to see WHY I am doing what I am doing so I can apply that theory to other aspects of the guitar ON MY OWN.
So, I am not saying he is the best teacher out there. "Best" is a funny word anyway. What I am saying is: Christian will help you be as good as you can possibly be within the realm that you want to be in, as long as you want to actually learn the instrument fully by putting in the work -- work is always necessary.
So I should also mention that I am a song writer and a piano player, and have been for over 20 years. That is why I can say I am speaking from experience. I have had instructors before. I know what it is like and I know what to look for. You can't go wrong with Christian, if you are really looking to learn how to play the guitar and get the most out of your dedication to the instrument."

After I finish writing this review, I will be signing up for additional lessons.

Ready to get started with learning blues chord progressions? Here's an intro by Austin, TX guitar teacher Samuel B... In order to properly respect and understand both the theory and structure of ANY kind of American music, it's essential to be able to play the blues. Although the form is said (by some scholars) to have originated in Africa within the story-telling traditions of village griots (historians/poets/musicians who would play a five-stringed instrument known as the halam, which …
