Andy was such a great teacher. My 7 year old son looked forward to his lessons with Andy every week. We were very bummed we had to stop lessons because of moving out of state. Andy has such a great way of teaching and has such patience with kids.

Private Blues Guitar Teacher

Hello from Adam! My career has been an awesome mix of formal education, teaching and touring.

On the school side, I am a graduate of New York University's Music Business + Technology program.

I have been teaching since 2010, doing both private lessons as well as group and individual sessions at Denver's famed Swallow Hill Music. Part of my duties with Swallow Hill included working with their House Of Rock summer camp program instructing young adults in the 12-18 age range.

I am passionate about teaching guitar and someone that prides themselves on tailoring each lesson to the individual student by putting in the necessary time to prepare materials in advance. I don't have a one-size-fits-all "method" and strive to only provide helpful and applicable instruction. My comfort zone goes anywhere from kids just starting out to adults in working bands that need to add some tricks to their guitar ouevre.

I have been the subject of a full-page feature in Vintage Guitar magazine

About Adam

According to Vintage Guitar Magazine I am "looking to bring a new sound to instrumental guitar music" and that my original songs are "a memorable mix of country, jazz, rock and soul that transcends all genres." As a sideman, my resume includes numerous tours with national acts and I've also had son

Adam’s got some cool blues pockets. I’d never really thought about lead as pockets - kind of like a drummer would think about a fill. So I guess if you think about lead as discrete pockets it should be “easier “ to break down the lead guitar.
Bob G.
Adam is a patient and wonderful teacher. He writes down the lessons and is helpful by sending videos as well. He has reinforced my instrumental play by refreshing the basics, the major and minor pentatonic scales.

Adam is incredibly knowledgeable, professional, and most importantly a great teacher! He's patient and great at breaking down trickier ideas to be understood by someone with minimal theory knowledge like myself. And he's a great player to boot! I would gladly recommend Adam as an instructor to anyone looking for general music theory knowledge on the guitar all they way to more advanced level jazz techniques.

Thanks Adam!
Andy
Adam is a fantastic guitar teacher. He paced his lessons so that the amount of information I had to cover was reasonable for my busy schedule, and every week I came away feeling more and more confident in my playing!
Yami
Adam taught both my daughters. He is very knowledgeable and has a natural gift for teaching. The girls were engaged in the class and considerably improved in technique. He really is the best instructor ever!

I've been teaching high level guitar, vocals and bass for the last 20 years, and as a result of my extensive teaching experience, I know what works for people and what doesn't. I know how to get the results that help people grow as the musician they want to be as quickly as possible. My name Paul Campo and I grew up in the Boston area where at the time the public high school system offered high level music theory classes. I took advantage and had an understanding of high level music theory by the time I was 17 years old. At 17yrs old I started studies at Berklee College of Music in Boston, but after a year I moved to L.A to pursue a music opportunity I was offered. I've been playing guitar and singing in bands for 40 years and teaching full time for the last 20yrs on the West Coast from L.A to Seattle. I see alot of the insights to the musicianship of classic American music fading away and getting lost in oblivion, so I try to teach what I've learned over the years, while helping ...

"I came to Mich an with 8ish years of self-taught acoustic experience looking to make my first foray into electric/lead playing/improvising/soloing. After two weeks with Mich, my playing has improved exponentially. He's extremely patient and is more like your buddy showing you cool things than a rigid instructor. If you're committed to putting in the work and really wanting to get better, Mich the guy for you."

"Andy was my guitar instructor for more than year. He is a master in theory and practice and is able to bring you to the highest levels. The breath of learning opportunities he offers in terms of techniques, styles, rhythms, songs etc is huge and allows for training and development in the desired areas at every possible level. And he can back up the lessons by the underlying music theory as needed. In practice, Andy quickly spots where issues lie and provides useful hints to overcome technical problems. In addition he offers useful material which helps when practicing at home.

"I was very impressed, satisfied and happy about my guitar lessons with Greg.
I'm German and booked just 5 lessons due to travel reasons. There was very vage input from me to Greg when we started (I always play the same; want to get new ideas; ...). Greg did not just provide a regular standard lesson. He focused and addressed 100%+ my desires and needs. Greg provided me very conrete and great input in several aspects to what I can do to improve my guitar playing. This was very useful to me and enabled me to move my guitar play forward. I highly recommend Greg to anybody."

"I'm an older self taught player that finally decided to take lessons. I have been working with William for a little over a month now. He began with cleaning up my playing position. This was really big for me as I have had issues that prevented me from playing as long as I would like due to back and hand pain.
William spent the time to figure out where I was and wanted to go. Im very pleased with the progress I'm making and am confident that taking lessons with William was a great choice. He has also been very giving of his time to help pick out instruments and gear to move my instruction along.
I see a lot of instructors here that are players trying to augment their gigging money by giving lessons. Williams education and background really show in his lesson presentation and effectiveness."

5 Blues Guitar Secrets That Will Make You a Better Player

Learning how to play blues guitar? Pay extra attention to these five things from guitar teacher Mike B.... 1. In Tune Bends The blues guitar style is full of bending strings. Bends, as well as hammer-ons, pull-offs and slides, give guitarists the ability to imitate the way singers use various inflections while singing melodies. However, unlike hammers-ons and slides, bends are not guaranteed to be in tune. Since there is nothing worse than an out-of-tune bend in the climax of a great solo …
