As a trained, classical singer, I love teaching classical technique and the traditions of the art for.
Why Choose Carla:
• Work on your singing in a warm, friendly and private studio with an experienced teacher that makes singing fun! Students of all ages are always welcome!
• Member of the National Association For Teachers of Singing (the only selective professional organization for Voice Teachers) whose mission is: To encourage the highest standards of the vocal art and of ethical principles in the teaching of singing; and to promote vocal education and research at all levels, both for the enrichment of the general public and for the professional advancement of the talented.
• Voice students learn more then just how to sing, they learn how to be performers and musicians.
• I will not take on a student I cannot help.
• Voice students have MANY performance opportunities offered to them that are appropriate for their level
My unique studio uses the basics of Bel Canto technique to teach all styles of music to all ages. Parents often comment on how much fun their students have in lessons, while getting feedback from outside professionals (adjudicators, directors, etc) on how much their technique has improved. Adult students are commonly shocked by how easy singing can feel as they meet their career goals.
Current students can be seen performing with: America's Got Talent! Hardrock Cafe LAS VEGAS! Broadway Bound Bellevue Opera Puget Sound Concert Opera Seattle Gilbert and Sullivan 5th Avenue Theater Theater Schmeater 13 Coins Hwy 99 Blues Club The Showbox Chop Suey Dicken's Carolers And MORE!
I realize that voice lessons can be REALLY scary and I totally understand why, especially for kids and beginners! I do my best to use modern psycology and technology to help my beginning students feel confortable in what can be a frightening new endeavor.
Personal Performance Experience: Extensive lead and supporting opera performing experience with Bellevue Opera, Puget Sound Concert Opera, Skagit Opera, Tacoma Opera, Portland Opera,Seattle Gilbert and Sullivan, Seattle Opera and Seattle Youth Symphony. Prior to that spent 7 years performing Jazz and Gospel and 10 years in musical theater.
Personal Education: BA in Music from Seattle Pacific University 2002, MM in Opera Performance (Unfinished due to 1 year of German) at University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana.
Teaching Experience: 8 years as a private voice teacher in my own studio, 3.5 years teaching opera workshops throughout the USA, 2 years working in studio with local bands as a 'fixer.'
Have you tried lessons before and felt unsuccessful?
Not all students learn the same way and for years voice teachers have been treating every student as an aural learner. What I have found is that students with a history of struggling with matching pitch simply need to be taught in a different manner. That is why I now ask students to take a voluntary learning style inventory prior to their first lesson.
Visual Learner? Not a problem when "Adam" started with me he could only match pitch 30% of the time. But after finding that he needed to see concepts in order to learn them I have now made all of his lesson visually based and he is now averaging 90% pitch accuracy 3 months later.
Kinisthetic Learner? I had the hardest time helping "Clark" learn new music until we realized that by taking the time to have him play his parts himself on the piano he could learn them in minutes. He just is a person that learns by doing and now that we know that, music has become so much less frustrating for him.
Physical Learner? With "Steve" the traditional 'visualization' style of teaching that most voice teachers start with just wasn't helping him improve his sound and reach the high notes we both knew he had. After we figured out that he needed large muscle movements to understand concepts I added the use of a resistance band to his lessons. He has had so much success with this technique that he 'stole' my resistance band so he could use it in recording sessions and before he got on stage.
The stories just go on and on.

*** Lesson Details *** Students help structure their lessons by providing a general overview of their goals during their first lesson. Just as not everyone's voice sounds the same, neither does everyone's lesson!
A typical lesson begins with vocal warm-ups specifically targeted to strengthen the students technique and help them learn more about their voices capabilities. Next students work on songs of their choosing, that help them develop the freedom of voice, control, stamina and overall vocal health that they will need to be confident in their performing.
Additional opportunities for performance are provided for students as desired. These may include Karaoke Nights (for adult beginners), no-stress recitals, studio sing-a-longs, community choirs and small roles in local productions.

Carla is a teacher who focuses on each individual student. I have observed the results of her students’ success in multiple music genres. I have studied with Carla for classical training, musical theater, jazz, and audition prep, and have seen positive results in each of these areas. Carla really works to make sure her students gain experience (she often arranges public performance opportunities at venues such as coffee shops, etc.) and she makes sure her students are aware of (and prepared for) upcoming auditions. Each lesson is followed up with an email from Carla re-capping the main points stressed in that lesson. I highly recommend Carla, whether you are a beginner or a seasoned performer.
Having studied and performed classical voice for years, I understand and will teach the correct breathing, posture, and technical skills required. I believe the techniques and skill set required for classical singing are useful for many other styles of singing as well. A classically trained student will find that other genres come more easily as a result of their training.
Hi! My name is Kristen Reinsch and I am originally from Monterey, CA but am now a Utah native . I am a singer and teacher who loves music more than chocolate and can be found singing in nearly any scenerio! I started my music career in theater at the early age of 8 and haven't stopped singing since. I grew up singing and playing instruments with my family and I encourage my students to do the same. Having been both an instrumentalist and vocalist, I feel it is important to not only know how to sing, but to be able to read music and understand what you are singing. After graduating with a music degree from BYU-I, I feel I have the tools to teach these skills and more. Through my years as a musician, I have come to appreciate many different kinds of music ranging anywhere from Broadway to opera to Jazz, etc. I feel this gives me the a
bility to cater to my student's individual goals as musicians. One of my goals as a teacher is to help you to learn to sing what you love while giving you the correct foundation to build on. Music is supposed to be fun! I believe self confidence is extremely important as a vocalist. "Stage fright" is one of the most common things that holds us back from reaching our full potential. Singing with confidence makes you feel great, and sound even better. Sometimes it is all that's missing from a potentially amazing singer. I have helped many students overcome this road block and emerge filled with confidence and self assurance.
*** Lesson Details *** Did you know that people can hear a smile in your voice? Smiling while singing actually produces a different sound that is pleasant to the ear. I want this experience to be fun for my students. I do, however, believe self discipline is a very important aspect of music. I will encourage students to practice regularly and come prepared to learn. I will usually request that young students bring a recording device so they can take home our lessons and practice. This also allows you to hear how you sound during lessons and reproduce(or improve) that at home. During my lessons, we will cover topics ranging from technical skills, basic singing principles, ear training, sight-reading, to theoretical knowledge. We will also discuss voice maintenance. That said, I feel it's important to get out of the lessons what you want, so I don't have a set curriculum. I tailor each lesson to the student. All in all, I am a patient, fun-loving teacher who will work hard to bring out the very best in all my students. I will neither push too hard nor be too lenient as we strive to reach the goals we have set together.
*** Studio Equipment *** Piano and music books provided
*** Travel Equipment *** I will provide some music for the student. I would prefer that the student have access to a piano and bring a tape recorder and notebook to each lesson.
*** Specialties *** Although I was classically trained and studied opera in college, my younger singing experience largely involved musical theatre. I have always been told I am a natural on stage. I strive to instill that confidence into my students because confidence really is half the battle. I especially love to help students prepare for auditions!
Very sweet and kind. Generous with time. Great teaching technique.

Kristen was a great vocal coach. She was easy to work with and gave me several suggestions for improving my voice. I recommend her to anyone who is trying to improve their singing ability.
Extensive background in opera performance, over 50 roles both nationally & internationally.
Doctorate degree - Training in production & stage direction.
My interest is in developing singers to become a better version of themselves and help them reach their goals. Many of my students are singing professionally in Colorado, New York and internationally.
Background includes international and national performance credits in both opera and musical theatre. My last major gig was Carlotta in Andrew Lloyd Webber's German production of Phantom of the Opera in Hamburg, Germany for ten years. We sang eight times a week in German! All backstage activities were in English due to the truly International cast. I loved every minute of living and working in Continental Europe.
In May, I'll be singing one of the leading soprano roles with Opera Fort Collins in The Fairy Queen by Purcell. I'm hoping my costume will have a set of white wings like the Gynbourne production.
I am an opera singer who has experience teaching multiple genres including pop, rock, jazz and classical. I create monthly plans for my students and teach them techniques to feel in control of their singing and confident.
I am an opera singer and pianist who studied at the Aaron Copland School of Music in NYC and I recently moved to Texas to further my studies in music education.
I started teaching piano and voice privately in New York City in 2012 and I continue to in North Texas. I have experience teaching ages 4 to 80 in both voice and piano. I started training in both singing and piano in 2001 and as result have performed from Carnegie Hall to the Vatican.
My daughter has been taking lessons for a few months now and the results have been amazing. Natasha has brought her out of her shell and helped her become confident in her singing abilities. She teaches such interesting details about vocal methods. She is amazing.

Working with Amanda Baker during the spring of 2017 truly revolutionized the way I think about my voice. We explored techniques that enabled me to understand the ease required for singing above the staff, as well as the intricacies of resonance. The time we spent together was an amazing stepping stone for the Young artist opera program I attended during the summer of 2017. If not for our working together I would not have performed as successfully as I did. She was extremely prudent, diligent, compassionate, and encouraging. She is a grade-A 5-star teacher in my book!

If you’re searching for a professional Music Teacher and Performer who can give you the personalized attention you deserve, look no further! I've been offering my instructive services since 2016 to clients in the greater Milwaukee area. I can help you unlock your full vocal potential by providing the technical guidance and fundamental skills you need in order to succeed.
My lessons focus on controlling the voice. For beginning students I teach the basics of posture and breathing that will lead to a healthy control of not only the voice, but the whole body. As we continue I move onto learning different individual skills based upon what the students needs most. Some of the most common goals of my studen
ts that I address are learning to sing with more volume without needing a substantial amount of effort, extending the range, and eliminating habits that can cause permanent damage later in life. For my more advanced students or those looking to sing a variety of styles I teach how to alter the voice subtly such that a student could sing drastically different songs with quality.

I specialize in singers, actors, and public speakers and focus on developing proper technique to protect and enhance your voice while still sounding uniquely "you"!

My goal is to help share the fantastic techniques I've learned from the A-Level coaches with the masses at a fraction of the cost. Students of mine often hear a big improvement in their voice after only two weeks of lessons!
Norwood is extremely humble and easy to work with. He never made me feel like I wasn’t good enough but always made me feel like I could reach a higher level of excellence for my unique range. He embraces each voice as its own and meets the student where they are at. He is extremely knowledgeable on how sounds are created, how space is made in the voice, and he is able to communicate that knowledge effectively to the student. In short, I loved having Norwood as a teacher.

My 10-year-old son Lucky started taking lessons with Norwood a few months ago, and it’s like a star has been born! He has seen a big boost in his confidence, his pitch has gotten much better, and he really enjoys the lessons. He has even started performing! The changes have happened very fast.

Norwood is an excellent teacher! He is very knowledgeable and is very kind. I was always very shy to sing, but Norwood helped me overcome that!
I have a passion for teaching people to sing to the best of their ability with the instrument they have been given! I want to teach others to sing like THEM, not like someone else or in a certain style, but to unlock their potential! There aren't shortcuts, but we can be relaxed, comfortable, and laugh on the journey to improvement! This is first and foremost a safe space to make mistakes and learn the correct way to use our bodies to sing. I have a bachelor's degree in music and performance from the University of North Georgia and have been teaching lessons for over eight years with students of all ages and backgrounds. I am excited to share what I have learned to help YOU sing to the best of your ability!
I am a professional musician who has held multiple positions as director of music at churches and has taught individual voice lessons with students with ages ranging from 5-92. Life is hard, let's learn music together in a way that builds us up. I believe that everyone with the singing bug has a diva waiting to be born and developed so they can shine!
I am currently a content creator, a private voice teacher, and the mother of a 3-year old. I would love to help you work toward your personal and professional goals with music goals in mind! Melissa has a lovely, well trained voice! She doesn’t sing with strain- she correctly supports her voice! She worked with me for 5 years in our choir. The choir always enjoyed her vocal and anthem preparation! So- not only does she have the talent and training- she understands how to work with singers for the best results. As a retired high school and college choral director, I have the highest respect for Melissa. I miss her!

I've sat in on a few lessons, and she certainly knows her stuff. While she won't let you take the easy way out, you'll come out of it with proper technique and great tips and tricks if you stick with her.
"Amazing/kind person with so much patience, a really diverse vocal range and good teaching skills. She works really well with both kids and adults; you can
tell she really loves to share her talent. I always felt 100% comfortable with her. Love her and would recommend her to anyone interested in deepening/exploring their musical talents."
"I have worked with Tamari and found her very knowledgable about music. She has a great teaching technique and is very helpful."
"Rachel was extremely patient and could figure out how to help a new singer like me navigate their body and find a true sound. Her positive feedback encour
aged me to do better along with her comforting wit and humorous exercises that really made me open up. I believe she was the absolute best person to help me along and open up more than I had ever before and I think if she continues educating that she will do amazing things, and have fun all the while!"
"Kristen is an excellent teacher! Her fun personality and immense knowledge of the voice combine for enlightening and productive lessons. She’s a joy to be
around and knows just when to encourage or challenge someone. I would strongly recommend her for anyone looking for voice lessons!"
"I am so excited about my voice lessons. I am a university trained classical singer with extensive operatic and art song experience who wanted to get back
to singing after a long absence. I was looking for a teacher that could help me to navigate the changes in my voice due to the aging process and provide me with the tools to steady a vibrato that had gotten out of hand. Michelle and Robert are exactly what I needed. They have extensive and commanding knowledge of the voice and support mechanism and teach from the Italian “Bel Canto School” perspective. That is to say pure vowels, open throated but focused sound and a healthy, low laryngeal position. I am loving my voice again and it has only been 3 lessons. They are exceptional at finding the beauty in the individual voice and not requiring a “carbon copy” sound. One of the best things about my lessons is that they complement each other as teachers and find a number of ways to facilitate a natural and beautiful sound by articulating suggestions in many and varied ways. If the student is unable to reproduce the desired outcome by one method, they will find another way to achieve it. Not one minute of a lesson is wasted and each week brings quick and substantial progress. It has been a joy to work with them and I look forward to each lesson and the progress they bring. In short, I am thrilled."
"I first asked Sven in 2011 to help me find and fix problems with my singing. My technique, performance practice, enjoyment of singing keep improving. I ch
oose more and more difficult repertoire as time goes by, trying to get us both into trouble. So far, so good!"
"Jamie has been my voice teacher for almost three years. I have enjoyed working with him on a variety of different songs and musical styles. He always has
fun, sometimes challenging warm-ups for me to do at the beginning of each lesson. During the lesson, he is very good at helping me find better or easier ways to sing certain notes or phrases. He has a good ear and can tell if I'm singing something in an inefficient or incorrect way. When he offers me corrections or suggestions for ways to improve my singing, he does it in a way that is easy to understand and doesn't make me feel incompetent. I feel that my singing has improved quite a bit during the time I have been working with Jamie. And as my voice improves, so does my confidence. I always look forward to my next lesson to measure my progress and to see what new things I might learn."
"Nicholas is an amazing singer and a great teacher! He is very professional, came before time, and went over time. My daughter and our entire family really
liked him. He also teaches a colleague's daughter who spoke highly of Nicholas. All in all, a great experience!"
"She is a highly skilled classical vocalist with great talent. She was my music tutor at East Los Angeles College. She always knew what my problems were an
