Mandolin principals of chord shapes, scales, and alternate picking are taught to the student.
About Jonathan
I am a Florida native, active doctoral student, teacher and practitioner. My career includes performing and recording as a guitarist and teaching subjects such as music or math. Grade-school academic strengths in mathematics represent my enthusiasm for the subject. The math equivalent in music can be considered music theory, which is another passion of mine. I hope to take these well-rounded characteristics to teach and influence others with what I have learned in my education and career thus far.
Education & Teaching Experience:
I am currently pursuing my Doctorate of Musical Arts from Shenandoah University and hold a Masters of Music from the University of Akron and a Bachelor of Music from Stetson University (all degrees with a guitar performance emphasis). I also have a temporary teaching certificate for Music K-12 fro
Degrees:
Doctorate of Musical Arts: Guitar Performance; Shenandoah University, expected May 2019
Master of Music: Guitar Performance; University of Akron, May 2014
Bachelor of Music: Guitar Performance; Stetson University, 2011
While giving lessons:
I ensure that every student receives fundamental foundation pertaining to the subject. While learning the basics, I advise that the student organizes their lessons and materials in a way that displays progress over time. With the proper knowledge, we can treat the heart of a subject with refinement in order to grasp its purpose and reason---whether its music or math.
Why?
My students have grown with confidence through a sense of accomplishment. Success does not only affect a person's well-being but can also impact other dimensions of their lives.

The most important thing I look for in a student is communication skills, as well as talent. I like to nurture students and help identify their individual strengths, which is a key factor in shaping a musical persona that will make its mark both on and offstage. I do not advocate a uniform technique for all students. Physical differences and learning styles are always taken into consideration. Potential is as important to me as early achievements and experience. My goal is to help students become self-sufficient, discriminating artists. I discuss practice techniques often and develop individualized scale routines. I encourage initiative and expressive musicality as well as precision. Above all, music needs to bring obvious joy to the student, regardless of the difficulties.”

Any time one takes up something new in later life it is a challenge to stay with it and not sink back into comfy life. i have enjoyed my singing lessons with William though it took me a couple to get past my self-conscousness. It helped that he moved the lessons to a church--from his home. Better setting for singing practice. And william has done a great job of matching our lessons to how i want to develop my voice.

About Grant H.
CloseI like to make learning an instrument fun and easy to fit into your schedule!
If you're an adult finally getting around to learning your dream instrument or a child following your passion of playing music I tailor your lessons specifically to you. We look at what you want to play, pick specific songs that you want to learn, and learn the techniques you need to play these songs. It sounds simple, but it's so effective and much more fun to learn this way!

About Grant
My name is Grant and I’ve been helping students grow for over 11 years now! How time flies! I started playing music at the age of 9 and have been in love with it ever since, staying active in my local music scene as an instructor, performer, manager, and booking agent.
This is how I like to structure my lessons:

you can expect to learn how to play Italian and folk songs. Very beautiful as well as easy and fun.
About Steve
My name is Steve and I enjoy playing/teaching guitar. I am patient with students. All I ask is that you make sure you have the time to study and practice daily for it is a commitment. I teach beginning and intermediate classical finger style guitar as well as electric/rock/blues and chord/scale theory. We can learn songs in their entirety with all details present. Learn classical, blues, classic rock songs (Note: for beginners, after we have gotten through the blues a little) metal (If you have a locking tremolo, you might have to make adjustments on it to facilitate the lower tunings usually used in metal nowadays but I can definitely help you with that.) Give me a call I would love to hear from you. Thank you :)

Mandolin is a delightful instrument to study and is a great addition if you are already a guitarist or a singer looking to accompany themselves in unique ways. As with my guitar lessons, I design a student's curriculum to fit each individual's needs and desires. I can teach reading and music theory, but also get you strumming along to your favorite songs or learning how to flatpick basic bluegrass tunes. My goal with any instrumental lessons is to get a student to think for themselves on their instrument through a balance of ear training and functional knowledge of the instrument.
About Chris
I achieve this by:
1) Individualizing lesson plans so that each student stays engaged and learns in the style that is best for them as learners.
2) Ensuring that students learn BOTH how to play their instrument as well as the theory behind what they are playing. This creates a more well-rounded musician that is capable of problem solving on their instrument an
I have been playing music for over 10 years and teaching private lessons since 2014. My professional performance experience includes solo guitar gigs, rock band shows, musical theatre pit work, dance band playing, plus various gigs in Nashville, around the Eastern United States, and even in Scotland!
I graduated from Belmont University in the Spring of 2018 with a degree in Commercial Music, so I have had the "conservatory training" in regards to theory, and music history, but before college I was largely a self taught player and am now a professionally performing musician here in Nashville.
