Our 8 year old son had his first Guitar lesson with Dee this past weekend, and she was amazing. She wasted no time getting down to brass tacks with our son, showing him the various parts of the guitar, how to hold it and within minutes he knew two chords. She was able to keep our kiddo engaged, offered great praise and positive feedback/reinforcement and kept him on task for the entire 45 minute lesson. We could not be happier and cannot wait to see what he learns during his next lessons with her!

Margaret is a wonderful instructor who provides excellent teaching. I really appreciated that she made a point of not only explaining how to hold the bow, the violin, etc, but also explaining why it's important to use certain positions and posture and how it all comes together as one continues to practice. She's also super friendly and how's a very positive and welcoming demeanor.

I have been teaching private lessons since 2008, but have been studying music since I was only 4 with non stop private and in school lessons. I now have my Bachelor's degree in Music education and am working toward my Masters in Music performance and Instruction.
I love working with my students. Watching them succeed at what they do is what makes my day great. I always love to have a fun atmosphere around me and enjoy every minute it. Music is great for self expression a great Escape or an easy pass-time. It's nothing that should be stressful, but the opposite and that is what my lessons aim to do. Provide an educational, but fun and expressive learning experience to carry with you or your child throughout your lives.
Simple, easy and fun way learning the fiddle! I can teach you fundamentals and special country style, folkish fiddle sound through your favorite songs. Let's get started!
Hi, there! My name is Krisztina and I can't wait to meet you! I've been teaching private lessons since 2010. I love helping my students to learn how to play the violin, to be able to play their favorite tunes or helping them preparing for auditions for schools and ensembles. I went to the Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest, Hungary and earned my Masters Degree in Music in 2010. I'm a friendly and patient teacher and my teaching style engages student in the learning process also fun, and creative. I look forward helping you to reach your goals!
Ms.Krisztina is a joy to work with. My girls started with her at 5 & 6 and she worked so well with them. She has kept their interest since and has introduced new concepts in a way that isn’t overwhelming, but enjoyable and fun. She has a lot of patience with them and has a skill for drawing their attention to the violin & music.
January 25, 2019
Violin or viola, Krisztina was a very caring and nicest teacher I have ever had. Unlike myself she was always on time. Her friendliness made every lesson more fun while she really cared about her students and always been honest with her comments.
January 10, 2019
I would highly recommend Krisztina. She truly likes teaching violin. She goes beyond the call of duty. For example, she sends emails with her or other musician videos for practice at home, works over the allotted time if needed and if she is able to, sends texts and responds promptly.
My daughter was beginning to say she was getting less interested in violin and before I could say anything, Krisztina made my daughter excited about it again with new things to learn.
There is nothing negative to say. She is an excellent teacher.
"Karen is thorough. You will find out immediately that she will find your weaknesses and work on those. She is a pro - she knows what she is doing and sh
e knows what her students need. She listens to what her students want to accomplish and then she will add to her responses extra instructions that will focus on big picture success. She really understands the difference between playing alone and playing with a group. She knows exactly how every band member will respond to what you are playing."
"I was very impressed with my lesson with Kathleen. She started from the beginning, leaving nothing out, but she always had a sense of urgency. I felt li
ke she treated our lesson time as very valuable and wanted to pack as much good stuff into the lesson as possible. Kathleen was also extremely friendly and encouraging. It was an all-around great experience."
"Juliana has been providing lessons for so long that she has an answer for all of my questions, and has the patience of a saint. I didn’t start playing the
fiddle until later on in my fifties so it’s very reassuring to have her as my go to for any problems."
"Laura is a natural teacher- she is able to identify strengths and needs and come up with steps to improve weak areas and also ideas on how to build on the
strengths. What I value most about the lessons that I take with her is that she seems undaunted by my inability to grasp something and just comes up with another approach to help me. She is flexible and a master of many styles of fiddle playing. She can work with anyone from beginning to accomplished; child to senior citizen. I look forward to each lesson."
"The first lesson was great. She explained some of the fiddle's background, how to hold it, and how to play it all in an interactive way. The time flew by.
My daughter is very enthusiastic about the lessons & even more excited about the fiddle than before the lesson. Kathleen is awesome."
"The lesson was excellent. Laura is really pleasant, a good teacher, and a truly fine fiddle player."
"Concetta was such a treat to have in our home! She came out all the way from NY to NJ for my mothers birthday, and though she is a beginner, emerged from
the 1 hour lesson so inspired to keep practicing, able to fully complete her first song! She even did a little performance at the end on the lesson! She is a great people person, fun to talk to, and she really knows her stuff. Excellent choice!"
"The girls loved their first lesson"
"Laura is sweet, smart, personable, patient, and has achieved miracles with my daughter. My daughter has a short attention span and is very impatient with
most things, and has quit other classes we've tried. Not with Laura. She has just the right mix of patience and encouragement, and it's one of the only courses my girl genuinely wants to go back to every week. Most of that is due to her amazing teacher. Thanks, Laura!"
Is that a fiddle... or a violin? It's a common question, and one that baffles many beginner musicians.
So what's the answer?
When it comes to the actual instrument, there actually aren't any differences. What distinguishes a violin from a fiddle is what kind of music you're playing with it. A musician playing folk, bluegrass or country, for example, would most likely refer to their instrument as a fiddle; those who play other genres (jazz, classical, etc.) typically call theirs a violin.
