I just recently started with Dee. She is doing a great job of helping me realistically assess my performance, and constructively set goals to improve the aspects that need work. It's been fun and very helpful.

Our 8 year old son had his first Guitar lesson with Dee this past weekend, and she was amazing. She wasted no time getting down to brass tacks with our son, showing him the various parts of the guitar, how to hold it and within minutes he knew two chords. She was able to keep our kiddo engaged, offered great praise and positive feedback/reinforcement and kept him on task for the entire 45 minute lesson. We could not be happier and cannot wait to see what he learns during his next lessons with her!

Where do I begin. Kathleen is extremely patient with me and very encouraging. I have loved the violin for a long time. However, over the years I would get discouraged and quit. With Kathleen, I look forward to our sessions. She's very knowledgeable and I like that she will play along with me and send audio clips that reinforce the place where I struggle. I have learned so much in such a short period. She's a keeper! I'm truly blessed to have her in my (music) life. Thank you so much Kathleen.

Orange Blossom, Mississippi Sawyer and Devil's Dream are a few of the basic fiddle songs I like to teach. The key to Fiddling is being able to play in tune and fast with a few basic rhythm patterns. I teach theory, scales, rhythm, pattern recognition, how to work with a metronome from slow to fast, proper bow grip and placement as well as proper posture for the violin.

About Erin

My name is Erin. I am a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. I have a Bachelor of Arts in Music, with a concentration in Violin. I began studying violin at the age of six. I have performed with small chamber ensembles, orchestras, quartets, and trios. I enjoy playing for churc

What makes my fiddle lesson's unique is that I teach from the heart, meaning teach what you feel within you. Music comes from the heart and teaching someone that has an easier time watching rather than on paper makes it easier to remember the lesson.

I teach just like it was in the old days when someone is watching you play and this way they see and hear what they'll learn or want to learn. There is some theory but not much, just enough for you to understand what you learn. I can teach you theory which I feel you should know a little bit about what your learning, but showing you is always the best way cause you see and hear. At least that's how they did it in the old days.

You want to play something right away, well I can show you what you can play right away, practise it and the more you practise the more you'll remember what you learned.

I also speak french if you like, and I also use to children who have disabilities also. I'm one that thinks outside the box because we all ...

"The most honest and straightforward teacher

Kelvin's unparalleled enthusiasm for life and music shines through in his playing and teaching style. He shows a strong proficiency in many different styles and on multiple instruments.

He's reliable, experienced, professional, and a great guy all around. One of Kelvin's main strengths is his ability to convey a given subject matter in a way that is meaningful, constructive and easily understood.

I'm also a music teacher (private lessons and in the classroom) as well as a professional performer. I've found it to be a great pleasure working with Kelvin and I would strongly recommend him as a teacher and a performer."

She came out all the way from NY to NJ for my mothers birthday, and though she is a beginner, emerged from the 1 hour lesson so inspired to keep practicing, able to fully complete her first song! What's the Difference Between the Violin and Fiddle?

Is that a fiddle... or a violin? It's a common question, and one that baffles many beginner musicians. So what's the answer? When it comes to the actual instrument, there actually aren't any differences. What distinguishes a violin from a fiddle is what kind of music you're playing with it. A musician playing folk, bluegrass or country, for example, would most likely refer to their instrument as a fiddle; those who play other genres (jazz, classical, etc.) typically call theirs a violin. …
