About Justin

Like most guitarists, I had always wanted to play the guitar as a little kid. Luckily, my parents finally caved to the request (ok ok, incessant begging) and I began my guitar journey at the age of 11. After now 20 years of playing and 12 years of teaching, I am excited to share my experience and th

Are you interested in being able to confidently play lead and rhythm parts in a band? Want to learn to write songs? Want to learn to just strum along to your favorite records by yourself?

I will teach you or your child all of the knowledge and tools needed to do whatever your dream is on your instrument. My aim is to help every student achieve their personal goals on their instrument within the context of a relaxed and patient environment that promotes a love of music!

I achieve this by:

1) Individualizing lesson plans so that each student stays engaged and learns in the style that is best for them as learners.

2) Ensuring that students learn BOTH how to play their instrument as well as the theory behind what they are playing. This creates a more well-rounded musician that is capable of problem solving on their instrument and being able to play in a variety of settings.

I have been playing music for over 10 years and teaching private lessons since 2014. I ...

Having not had a guitar lesson in almost 50 years, Chris made it easy to talk bout my goals, and immediately show me some techniques and licks that will be helpful. Also really appreciate the recorded video of the lesson and extra materials he sent as follow up.

Chris took the time to find out my goals and where I was at as far as skill level, then tailored the lessons to be fun yet challenging. Looking forward to more lessons.

Outstanding teacher. I have had literally 20 teachers in my 40 years of on and off guitar playing and Chris is by far the best. He works to you and your capabilities and not to his pre-planned lessons. You feel no guilt and want to learn and push yourself more. I have progressed more with him than any instructor so far. Hire him!

I decided to take lessons with Edwin for guitar because I had been trying to learn on my own but I just wasn't progressing fast enough. Edwin taught me things you just can't pick up unless you work one-on-one with a professional. He is always on time for our online lessons, friendly, and patient. Every week I felt like I was being challenged just a little bit more and picking up new things. I would recommend him to everyone I know in a heartbeat!

Edwin is a fantastic teacher and so patient. I am amazed at how much my son has learned in just a couple lessons.

As someone who came in with little to no experience playing an instrument, Jimmy was the perfect start for my musical journey. He taught me not only the fundamentals of the bass guitar, but also the fundamentals of music in general, which I can carry with me as I develop as a musician. Highly reccomended.
Rob
Jimmy is a phenomenal teacher. He truly understands what its like to learn guitar, and he builds a foundation to make things come together. He knows what concepts are necessary to master early on, and he has a great way of explaining and simplifying. I learn much better when I understand the "why" of something, and Jimmy can give me the "why's" of all the drills that he has me do. He seems to know why I ask the questions that I ask, which tells me that he has worked through the same questions himself at some point. I highly recommend lessons with him!

Nick has done a great job with our 14 year old son! He has a great laid back style that is appreciated and keeps the lessons fun and engaging. "Damien explains the concept very well and asks questions to find out how much I already know. He tailors the classes to my abilities (I used to play piano and guitar) and interests. I am inspired to practise the techniques so I can play the music I chose. Just my third lesson and Damien is already introducing “improvisation” and that I was ready as long as I practise my scales. Being taught by Damien is exhilarating. Very blessed."
