Learn how to play Banjo!

While learning the Banjo, students will learn specific rolls such as forward and backward rolls, chords strum patterns, rhythm playing and various songs such as Foggy Mountain Breakdown and Dueling Banjos. They will learn the styles of Bluegrass and Claw Hammer playing.

My tenor banjo (Irish tuning) teaching style consists of a fun, relaxed, and engaging student paced learning environment.
My instruction is always tailored to my student's short term, and long term goals.

I have been playing banjo for about six years now as a supplement to my guitar playing. It has a been a real joy learning the different styles and techniques.

I play and teach both clawhammer and fingerpicking banjo styles. As a performer, I mostly play traditional and contemporary classical music, though I also have performed and recorded quite a bit of folk music on banjo. I enjoy working with clawhammer students as they create their own arrangements of tunes.

I play banjo with several different country acts. Knowledge of bluegrass and pop/country banjo styles.
