I have experience in both the competition and performance worlds of Irish fiddle, however, I began playing just for the joy of it! I love to teach appreciation for Irish music and culture as well as developing your own unique style of playing. I believe in challenging but not overwhelming a student. All ages are welcome and every lesson is catered to the goals and needs of each student!

About Keeley

I have experience in both the performance and competition worlds of music. I have been immersed and practicing Irish music since I was very young and don't remember a time without fiddle in my life. I've played guitar since I was only eight years old (over 20 years!) in many different bands, styles, and genres. I played in a traditional Irish ensemble when I was in college and have since picked up banjo, mandolin, fiddle, harmonica, and bodhran (Irish hand drum). I've also helped teach group violin classes in music programs in Orlando, FL and NYC. I love playing and teaching bluegrass music, it's a special challenge both for me and the students!

About Gio

I studied music at UCF (Orlando), focusing on classical and jazz guitar, but I also have years of experience playing rock, blues, folk, hip-hop, and musical theater on both guitar and drums. I have been teaching guitar, drums, and piano for about eight years to students of all ages. Music is wh

I have worked with Lauren for over a year now. I have found that Lauren is very patient and is willing to work with you to reach your goals and not just the goals of a book. Lauren works with you on a one on one basis to help you get where you want to go. Lauren is extremely knowledgable and always ready with a challenge to help you progress.

I just completed my first lesson with Lauren. I was hesitant as to how it would go because I know nothing about the violin or how to hold the bow. With that said, even though it has only been one lesson, I have complete confidence that Lauren will help me reach the goals I am looking to achieve. She has a wonderful calmness that makes you feel relaxed and competent.

I am from the south bluegrass and blues are some of my favorite to teach. I focus heavily on bow technique. I have gotten students into youth orchestras and passed college auditions. I like to use the Essential Elements and Suzuki books.
I also offer online group lessons at a highly discounted price. I suggest that all my students join. This is a great option for kids while class is out.

If you are looking for a fiddle teacher who makes learning fun and who also teaches proper fundamentals (such as posture, finger position, bow control, tone, etc.), then I believe I would be a great fit for you. I have noticed that many young fiddle players learn songs quickly, but then come to a halt in their learning because they do not know the proper fundamentals to keep them going. Since I teach from a classical standpoint (I mostly teach classical violin students), I make sure my fiddle students are not just learning fun songs quickly, but are learning them with solid fundamentals. I use the American Fiddle Method, which provides a large number of fun and exciting fiddle tunes.

"We signed up our 10-year-old son for online lessons with Daniel when in-person lessons became challenging during the pandemic. We were not sure how effective the lessons would be, but we were excited about finding a teacher with musical interests that aligned with our son's (rock and up-tempo bluegrass).

Five lessons in, we are thrilled about the choice we made. Daniel has a great rapport with our son and has worked to really "get" him. Daniel has the kind of focus on bowing techniques that we were never able to get from a local violin teacher. He is also in touch between lessons, sending materials to help our fiddler develop specific skills. And he models the kind of enthusiasm for music that we want for our son.

We'll know more at the one-year mark than at the five-lesson mark, but right now we are really pleased with Daniel and recommend him very highly."

What's the Difference Between the Violin and Fiddle?

Is that a fiddle... or a violin? It's a common question, and one that baffles many beginner musicians. So what's the answer? When it comes to the actual instrument, there actually aren't any differences. What distinguishes a violin from a fiddle is what kind of music you're playing with it. A musician playing folk, bluegrass or country, for example, would most likely refer to their instrument as a fiddle; those who play other genres (jazz, classical, etc.) typically call theirs a violin. …
