I have played guitar for almost 30 years and I've done concerts, performances and lectures in different states and also internationally. My biggest influences are Paco de Lucia and Tommy Emmanuel and I enjoy teaching guitar to any levels, ages and styles. My goal is to make sure my student will enjoy guitar lessons not matter how long it takes.

I am also the current guitar professor at Union College, Music Art Ambassador for Nebraska Arts Council, Guest teaching artist for John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, and Teaching Artist in Residence for The Lied Center.
I love sharing my knowledge and experience with my students. I like to see the progress of my students and how they grow into their music skills no matter the age.

Hello! My name is Max Fletcher - I have been playing and teaching guitar for over 15 years. I recently graduated from the New England Conservatory of Music, where I studied Guitar Performance with Maestros Eliot Fisk and Joe Morris, and Composition with Stratis Minakakis. When teaching, I have always tried to provide a multi-faceted and multi-dimensional experience that encourages learning to take place on many levels simultaneously. Music making is a process that involves many technical, theoretical, practical, and even historical elements, and is not a linear progression but often more circular in nature. In my own practice I have always tried to let the music guide and inform me, and consequently the most important element of my teaching is the experience of the music itself.

Once we learn how to read, nothing can stop us from playing! After that it all depends on what you want to do with your guitar. Classical guitar is a gate to all music genres and music theory will definitely bring your level higher + it gives you confidence.
-Also as a performance major musician, I have the ability to play the techniques I teach and simply explain how it is done in today's guitar world.
