I have been a devotee to all things blues and blues based since I was a young kid starting out... Am always happy to pass on everything I know about this truly American art form!

I like to make learning an instrument fun and easy to fit into your schedule!

If you're an adult finally getting around to learning your dream instrument or a child following your passion of playing music I tailor your lessons specifically to you. We look at what you want to play, pick specific songs that you want to learn, and learn the techniques you need to play these songs. It sounds simple, but it's so effective and much more fun to learn this way!

I prefer to teach students based on their music preference by designing the lessons to focus on their favorite songs that can be used to explain instrument technique or music theory

I care about helping you achieve your musical goals whether it be improvisation, song repertoire, writing, improvisation, theory, reading notation, ear training, you name it! My background is in jazz, funk, pop, rock, rnb, blues, and more. I also have years of experience performing live and can prepare you for what you need to know when playing with others. I keep the lessons exciting and love to open up the possibilities you can achieve.

I have been studying guitar privately for 27 years, have taught for 20 years and I am qualified to teach jazz/pop/rock guitar, improvisation, and theory. I graduated from the music performance program at Queensborough Community College. At Q.C.C. I was fortunate to receive formal training in ear training/ sight singing I-IV, music theory I-IV, convocation performance, performance juries, as well as receiving private lessons focused on jazz improvisation.

I majored in guitar performance concentrating on jazz improvisation but I also have been studying guitar privately for around 27 years with a strong emphasis on rock, blues, and pop.
