I am a brass specialist. My main instrument is trombone, but I have been effectively working with brass players of all types for years. I will be happy to help you achieve your goals and also offer small group ensembles with other instrumentalists in addition to private lessons!

I have been teaching music to students of all ages for 17 years and I absolutely love it! I am a fun loving teacher who has high expectations of my students. I have a bachelor (UM) and Master (CMU) degree in music. I am a school band director as my full-time career. I am able to teach all of the brass, woodwind, and percussion instruments, including piano, to varying degrees. You will receive a multi-faceted lesson with me including music theory, music history, new techniques, musicianship skills, performance skills, and much more. I've been playing the Trombone for over 12 years, and bass trombone specifically for 3 years. I'm available for beginning Trumpet, Euphonium, and Tuba lessons as well. I can also help you learn theory, ear training, sight reading, composition, or arranging! As a music educator, I've learned how to adapt my teaching to fit various learning styles and modalities. My lessons are tailored to you to fit your needs and help you grow as a musician. Specializing in beginning to intermediate students, but all ages are welcome. My joy as a teacher comes from seeing others improve, and I want to help all my students reach their musical potential. Let's get started!

As a professional brass musician, I have been teaching brass instruments for over twelve years.

For the beginner level, I have introduced many students to their first instrument ensuring that fundamentals are in place. At the intermediate level, I have helped many students advance in competitions and seat assignments within their band program. As a collegiate educator, I have given masterclasses at universities and private lessons to music performance students preparing for auditions and solo recitals.

I have taught online lessons for over four years and have used multiple online communication platforms to teach effective lessons. My students truly enjoy the online interaction during their lessons.

I have taught a wide variety of ages - everyone from 10 years old to 76 years old. One of the great joys I have in teaching is that each student brings their own unique strengths to lessons. My goal is to raise their level of playing while always having fun.
