**All of my students learn:
Sight reading (standard notation/tablature)
Music Theory & Ear Training
Rhythm / Timing (including reading rhythms)
We will focus 1/2 of the lesson on repertoire and 1/2 the lesson on technique. Many of my students text/email me a few days prior to our scheduled lesson with a song selection for the week. I focus our lesson's technical study with the song in mind. It has proven to be very effective and makes the technique and theory are less "boring."

The best part, though, has been writing my own songs and breaking them down with Eric to add/remove things that work or don't work. Now starting to record some ideas and workshop them further -- something I never thought I'd be doing! Can't recommend Eric highly enough. He's flexible, highly experienced and teaches in a relaxed environment.

I'm an experienced teacher of 12+ years, equally comfortable with kids and life-long learners. I'm very curious and always learning, and I love to share that inquisitive spirit with my students. Lessons will be structured around music that you enjoy, whether that is rock, classical, or jazz. Music theory and technique will be incorporated into the lesson from day one, but never at the expense of making music! I hold a B.M. in jazz performance and a M.M. in classical performance, and have performed all over the world. Let's set up your first lesson!

Hi, my name is Chris I have been teaching guitar for over 20 years and have been playing guitar since I was 7 years old. I am an enthusiastic teacher and I love teaching for so many reasons. · Acoustic Guitar ·
one of the kindest, most knowledgeable, accommodating, and encouraging instructors I have ever had
the privilege of studying with.
Instruction: Chris works at the level of his student. He doesn’t assume you have mastery in any skill and
works with you each week to build up a core set of basic skills. From an early point, Chris was able to
adapt to my level and show me fundamental skill building exercises.
Lesson Variety: Chris would teach different aspects to learning the guitar with each lesson. He would
supply any instrument or tool needed and would take the time to explain what each object does. At the
end of each lesson, I would feel confident in the material that was being taught, and felt that each
lesson was new and important. I’ve learned various rhythms, notes, styles of playing, and more.
Flexibility: Chris was very accommodating to my schedule. He was consistent and timely for each lesson,
and understanding when life circumstances would interfere. He works well at adapting to how you want
to learn, a key ingredient to being an effective instructor.
In summary, Chris was an excellent instructor, I learned a lot from his weekly lessons, and he is
just a straight-up nice guy. I would recommend him to anyone looking to learn how to play the guitar or
improve one’s skills.

I was a weekly student for Chris, and I have to say that our lessons together we're always a great time for the both of us. I practiced with Chris for about two years, and in that time I never once felt like I was under some sort of pressure to get prepared for the next lesson. The reason for that is because Chris is the kind of teacher that makes you want to get better. Every time he left me an assignment of some sort, whether it be practicing blues progressions to recording a solo part to a rythym track, I could never help myself from getting to work the second he stepped out my front door. Chris truly created an atmosphere for me that made it easy to learn, and I'm the kind of person who has a hard time learning. I seriously recommend Chris not only because he is a great teacher but a great friend as well!
I am an accomplished guitar player in a variety of genres and have extensive experience with different bands. I studied guitar at Southern Oregon University, and then went on to teach guitar and piano at the Able Music School in Auckland, New Zealand, and with the Musicality Network in Portland, Oregon. I am an actively performing musician and recording artist; in the past, I have played with bands ranging from acoustic rock to punk, jazz to classical, Renaissance to reggae, blue-grass to heavy metal. I am a recent New York transplant, and am looking forward to sharing my love of guitar and piano with a new set of students!
I started teaching private lessons while living in Ashland, Oregon, and have continued teaching private lessons through today. I also taught at the Able Music Studio in Auckland, New Zealand for 2 1/2 years and then through the Musicality Network in Portland, Oregon for 1 year.

Before moving to Brooklyn, I was apart of multiple performing and recording acts of a wide array of styles in the Pittsburgh music scene. I was the lead guitarist in three local groups while also doing freelance work with different groups/solo artists. Along with performing for other groups I ran my own jazz quartet for six years, playing independent shows, weddings, and even running our own jam session for four years.
I have had the pleasure to be teaching now for three years, independently running my own studio. I teach students of all ages and skill levels. Each student who comes to me comes with their own individual needs and goals, which is why I develop each lesson plan to cater to
I teach my students in my comfortable studio in Bushwick, Brooklyn, or travel to the students house if they prefer. I look forward to meeting you and helping you reach all your musical goals!

Guitar lessons are a fun, laid-back, and encouraging experience for anyone to pursue. My lessons are specifically designed to accomplish the goals of the student, whether it's as simple as playing along with your favorite songs, or obtaining the musical foundation to begin writing your own songs. Former students have thanked me for being laid-back, non-rigid, and down to earth. My diverse musical background lets me offer students of any genre a fast track to learning the skills they desire, and having fun along the way as well!
Most of my musical experience has entailed Rock, Indie-Rock, Blues, Acoustic, Bossa Nova, and Experimental/Contemporary. If students are looking to expand into a genre which I am not necessarily familiar with, I am always able to examine and learn the material myself in order to pass along to the student.
My students always decide the curriculum and pace which they would like their lessons to held at. I make sure to break the lesson down into simp
Jason has been described as an extremely versatile educator and performer. Aside from being a classically trained guitarist and Suzuki certified teacher working with young children ages 2 and up, he specializes in Jazz, Classical/Fingerstyle guitar, lead/rock/pop guitar, song writing/arranging and Music Theory. Jason received his formal training from the Manhattan School of Music and holds a Master of Music in Performance as well as a specialized Professional Studies Diploma with a focus in performance. Though he has performed in Germany, Asia and throughout the east coast of the US, his true passion lies in teaching students of all ages and experience levels. Nothing makes Jason happier than seeing his students develop a true love for the guitar and provides a fun and exciting environment for them to do so.
If you want to be the best guitar player you can be, the first step is to study with someone who not only knows what they are talking about, but has the experience to back it up! My name is Olin Clark and I hold a Masters of Music degree from Michigan state university, as well as performing and touring professionally with jazz, blues, rock, reggae, hip-hop/rap, r'n'b, and pop bands. I have been teaching privately for over seven years, with students aged 4-60! I am educated not only in jazz, but in a multitude of styles of music, and I want to share what I know with dedicated students who love music as much as I do.
I believe that developing a personal relationship with my students is the most important aspect of my effectiveness as their teacher. I prefer to use both aural and visual learning, as well as demonstrating with my instrument and explaining with verbal communication.
