We feel that we totally lucked out with finding Jason who is a complete gem! He showed up on time and quickly inspired my son with the drawing lessons by having him draw Superheroes! So my son is having a great time with Jason who has a great way of giving feedback and steering Cody using a balance of instructions and positive feedback. Cody is definitely enjoying his lessons and I am seeing real progress. I feel like I did the right thing investing in these lessons and giving Cody a great summer with a wonderful instructor. I couldn't have asked for more. Thank you Jason for being so great at what you do!
Patient and knowledgeable, good teacher! First lesson went great, I feel I have learned a lot already.

Robert has been teaching my 11-year old son electric guitar for the last few months and has done a brilliant job. My son loves his lessons and is inspired to practice and learn more. Robert works with my son's song choices and is amazingly patient and supportive. He is also an outstanding mentor for a young musician!

Robert is amazing! He is remarkably patient, encouraging, thoughtful, and generous. He is also quick to think of all kinds of fixes to advance your progress. He wears his encyclopedic knowledge lightly, and his lessons are always fun. I would recommend him with great enthusiasm for any stringed instrument!

Like most guitarists, I had always wanted to play the guitar as a little kid. Luckily, my parents finally caved to the request (ok ok, incessant begging) and I began my guitar journey at the age of 11. After now 20 years of playing and 12 years of teaching, I am excited to share my experience and thoughts about how to learn music and guitar.
My journey with the guitar has taken me from the electric rock of Jimi Hendrix, to the shredding of Joe Satriani, then the otherworldly sounds and speed of Al di Meola, and, finally, to the broad world of classical guitar, Flamenco and world music. Over the years, I have compiled a set of skills, techniques, and theories from all corners of the musical globe to help teach students the fastest path to guitar mastery. My goal is to show you how to master the fundamental skills of guitar in order to
play in any style and ultimately create your own music.
Justin is an excellent teacher!! He is a master guitarist, always punctual, very courteous and gives 100% to my lesson. I am learning classical guitar and jazz guitar with him and I am delighted with the progress I've made in just a few months. I am playing beautiful songs and before his lessons I could not play any classical guitar songs at all. Justin tailors the lessons to help me learn the songs I am excited about learning to play. I most highly recommend him as a teacher for any style guitar. Amazingly he also teaches ukulele and mandolin too! He has a degree from Cal Poly in music and guitar and has over 20 years teaching experience. If you really want to learn how to play guitar easily and quickly, take lessons with him!

Justin has been awesome. He really knows his stuff, and he has a natural gift for teaching. I am learning everything from reading tabs to playing my favorite songs. I'm having a blast!
I believe that learning music should be as fun and inspiring as it can be to play. We all have a vast wellspring of creative energy within us, and the goal of the relationship between the student and the teacher is to help nurture and develop that latent talent. For this reason, my approach to teaching music is highly individualized. I start out with the premise that the student has unique gifts and my job is to help them discover what those are, and develop and refine them in order to make beautiful and deeply satisfying music, through whatever instrument and in whatever style they are drawn towards.
Depending on one's starting level of experience, some basic exercises will be assigned to develop core skills, with increasing levels of technical challenge and complexity. Elements of music theory will be woven into practical lessons. Students will have the choice to incorporate material from popular and familiar music into their studies, and as they progress they will be encouraged to
I began teaching acoustic guitar and voice lessons in 1984, also offering harmonium and tabla lessons a few years later. Some of my students have approached music mainly for personal enjoyment and deepening their self-identity, while others have used the skills they learned in their careers.
I've found that in order to be a successful teacher, I must be patient and compassionate, and try to always put myself in the shoes of a learner. I feel my greatest teaching strengths come from listening to my students, as well as drawing from my experience as a singer-songwriter and fingerstyle guitarist.
I'm grateful for my exposure to the music of different cultures, especially the fascinating polyrhythms of traditional African drumming and the deeply moving melodies of Indian Classical music. I had the good fortune to study these disciplines int
ensively with Master Teachers during my time at Dartmouth College, at Wesleyan University, and through independent studies in India. My teacher training at Pacific Oaks College further deepened my appreciation of cultural diversity as well as my sensitivity to different learning styles.
This experience has enriched my own compositions, as well as my ability to connect with learners from diverse cultural backgrounds, and to help guide people in developing a personal style free from artificial boundaries of genre.
Currently, I'm working on recording an album of original songs based on the poetry of Rumi, Hafiz and other mystics.
I Googled "guitar teacher, Roseburg, OR" and low and behold, Sean showed up and boy I'm glad he did!!! Sean and I hit it off instantly and the things I wanted to get better at (finger picking, hammer(s) on and off, picking the notes within chords, etc.) Sean was completely versed in! Long story short... I couldn't be happier with Sean as a teacher and as a person he's totally cool as well! I recommend Sean unequivocally and if you want to start to play guitar or even get better as I do, Sean is your guy, no doubt about it!!!

Hi, I grew up in Northern California in a family of Texan musicians, who knew from the start I'd be a musical trouble maker. From my early days of Suzuki violin, to marching band, and then to bluegrass and Billie Holiday, I make myself musically at home wherever there's a groove. Now a graduate of Berklee College of Music, and an active part of Berklee's American Roots program, I'm a recipient of the Fletcher Bright Scholarship Award, a 2015 Freshgrass Fiddle Competition finalist, and two-time participant in the Acoustic Music Seminar at the Savannah Music Festival. Most recently, my project The Page Turners has been given the 2016 Freshgrass Best Duo Award. I've performed widely at festivals across the United States such as Grey Fox, the Three Sisters Festival, Berkeley Bluegrass Festival and Newport Folk Festival, as well as endeavors
abroad with the Nairobi Symphony. I've performed with many beloved artists, such as Bruce Molsky, Aoife O'Donovan, Joe Walsh, and Darol Anger. I have been teaching all ages and abilities for 8 years, all over the country. My favorite things are cooking, two-stepping, and hanging out with dogs. Carolyn is moving to Nashville, TN in 2019.

My name is Tim and I am a seasoned performer and teacher living in the Avondale neighborhood of Chicago. Come to my home and let's get learning!
I have performed in all of the big jazz clubs in Chicago (and all of the small ones too ;) and have been teaching guitar for 20 years. I have a Master's Degree in Guitar Performance from the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music, and an undergrad degree in guitar too.
I have serious 'chops' but also love teaching kids and have two of my own! I love teaching beginners but also we could learn about Coltrane changes, or what Freddie Hubbard's favorite ii-v-I phrase!
Let's have a fun time and do what you'd like to do, and learn what you'd like to learn. I can help you!
My name is Tim and I am a professional guitarist based out of the Avondale neighborhood of Chicago. I have an undergraduate degree in guitar performance, and a Master's Degree from The Cincinnati Conservatory of Music in Jazz Guitar Performance.
BUT - I do not only teach jazz! I love all styles of music and started out playing bluegrass and fingerstyle guitar, which I still deeply enjoy.
In our lessons, we will work towards your own personal goals, while I keep an eye on your technique. I make sure you learn things the right way ~the first time~ so you don't have to re-learn things you feel like you already know. This is one of the hazards of learning the guitar from the internet that a great teacher (like me!) will help you with. I want to save you time, frustration, and hard work! Let's do it right the first time!
y, I work very often around town. I play places in Chicago like the California Clipper, the Green Mill, the Whistler, Cafe Mustache and the Green Mill. I work mostly in Jazz contexts but also do whatever I get called to do! I want to help you meet your performance goals (because I have met mine), or get you started from the beginning.
LASTLY - while I love jazz, I also love pop music and can teach any and all styles. No matter what you'd like to play, good technique and learning it the right way the first time is essential! Let's get started!

Over the years I have learned so many techniques and teaching styles that I have been able to create curriculum uniquely suited for everyone from beginners to veterans to achieve their music dreams. I have learned that hardline traditional curriculum can suck the love of an instrument right out of the heart -- and fast. That can be devistating. Although playing any instrument takes diligent practice, excitment and passion are key. I could nev
er stand by and watch someone loose their love of playng an instrument. My talent lies in catching the spark, flaming the fire and watching it burn. I have a business degree from Texas Tech University, but have been a professional musician for over 25 years. I have been playing music since I was a small child. Starting with piano lessons and then moving on to percussion. After years of working out my youth on the drums, I finally found my home inside the sound of an acoustic guitar. I am passionate about pursuing the gift God has given to me. I love opening up new worlds of musical learning and performing for students of all ages. The best part comes when I can stand back and watch my students rock out confidently with smiles on their faces. Oh, and that light-- the light in their eyes -- you can't miss it. It's magnificent. I love to teach/play with everyone: The 5-year-old whose mommy wants him/her to learn to play an instrument The preteen who is exploring his/her talents and wants to find that spark The teenager who really just wants to rock out or play it cool The college student who wants to learn folk, song writing and how to function as a part of a band The career driven folks who need a lunch break worth a darn And retirees who want to prove that an old dog can always learn new tricks.
"Max was a great teacher. I walked in wanting to learn better soloing techniques for my bluegrass guitar. With Max's help, I got over several humps in my p

Starting bluegrass guitar lessons is fun and exciting, and odds are you'll have a lot to learn! Guitar teacher Samuel B. shares a few things you'll want to do before you get started...
Bluegrass is as much a piece of American musical culture as jazz, blues, country, gospel and early rock and roll. All of these styles (save for jazz) are based on the same three chords: C, F and G7th. Three of these styles (blues, country and gospel) are based on a slow rhythm that allows the guitarist room to …
