I am a Berklee College of Music graduate in guitar & mandolin performance, and play in two 4-piece bluegrass/country bands and an acoustic duo. I played about 140 shows in 2017.

Lessons are tailored to your level and goals. We can focus on tunes you want to play, incorporating reading music, ear training and theory.

Learn by tab, music or by ear. Many students prefer to have notes or tab in front of them. I will provide the notes/tabs of songs we learn.

I want all students to come away from their lessons feeling successful.

Broadcast Music Inc. was founded in 1939 by forward-thinkers who wanted to represent songwriters in emerging genres, like jazz, blues and country, and protect the public performances of their music. Operating on a non-profit-making basis, BMI is now the largest music rights organization in the U.S. and is still nurturing new talent and new music.

Max was a great teacher. I walked in wanting to learn better soloing techniques for my bluegrass guitar. With Max's help, I got over several humps in my playing and solo creating skills. If you're looking for a solid teacher that listens to what you have to say, Max is your teacher.

Max is a great instructor and works really well with our 12 year old son. Our son looks forward to guitar lessons every week. Max's easy going attitude makes lessons fun and our son enjoys the jam sessions.

Max is a superb guitar instructor! Each of his lessons are tailored to the individual needs and wants of his students. Tablatures are prepared in advance and available when you arrive at your next session. Strong emphasis is placed on playing technique, and Max is always willing to play each phrase or passage at a slower speed. For my money, there is no better guitar teacher, than Max.
