See "Guitar" for more information

Similar to learning acoustic guitar but with more emphasis on the common bluegrass picking techniques, chord progressions, and various scales.

Emphasis on improvisation when dealing with the lead aspect of bluegrass music.

About Christian
My name is Christian L. and I am a 28 year old guitar/music instructor in the Orlando area. My interest in guitar began when I was 12 years old and blossomed into a full time obsession about 3 years later when I started playing small gigs as a solo guitarist playing simple jazz and classical pieces for small art clubs and events. Alongside gigging, I also began teaching guitar, ear training, and music theory when I turned 18 and have been teaching full time ever since. During that time I also spent 4 years in music school for classical guitar. Currently I spend my time teaching, recording, and performing various styles including rock, jazz, pop, hip-hop, musical theater, metal, and country.

Throughout the 8 years I have been an instructor I believe I have refined my teaching style to be as versatile as possible to accommodate any learn
ing style a student may have. I am capable of teaching all styles of guitar at any skill level with an emphasis on ear training and general knowledge of guitar techniques.

Slight disclaimer in regards to lesson length, price, and student interest:

Over the past year or so I have tried a new teaching structure that I find to be quite rewarding for myself and the students I have had. My lessons do not have a maximum time limit, meaning a lesson could go for 2 hours, if that is what the student wanted, for the same price as a 45 min lesson.

This may sound strange in that I would be losing out on a large amount of potential money but the simple answer is this: I love music and guitar as well as teaching music and guitar. If we are in the middle of a great topic that you, the student, is really interested in, there is no way that I am simply going to stop talking about it when the "timer" stops and there is no way I am going to charge you more for getting into a topic you want to learn.

I find that students who spend more time in the lessons tend to become more interested in guitar and thus, better at playing. I do have to instill a minimum time limit of 45 mins however, any less is honestly just not enough time to get anything worth while accomplished.

One last thing, music and guitar have made up the majority of my daily routine for the past 10 or so years and have literally paid for everything that I currently own as I have never had any other type of job. What this means is that I take the craft very seriously and I project that in the lessons. Basically, if you are genuinely interested in learning guitar and music at any skill level, I will show you everything I possibly can to let you meet your goals. However, if you do not take it seriously, as in you don't pick up or even think about the guitar except for lesson days, the lessons may quickly feel pointless.

For more information on what I teach, feel free to look into the category entitled "Guitar" as well as any of the other subcategories that you are interested in.

Lessons with Christian have been very informative and fun. He is not only a talented player, but knowledgeable regarding music theory. Most importantly, he has the ability to teach and communicate concepts and and content in practical ways that are beneficial to the student.
He has been proactive, supportive and will go beyond time constraint in order to take advantage of the moment and accomplish the goal of each lesson.
So far, a very enjoyable experience. Highly recommended!

Wow wow wow. I had my first lesson with Christian, and he absolutely blew me away. Super talented musician. He has such a wealth of knowledge of the fretboard, musical theory, and different genres. I am into prog rock/metal and blues. I’ve never taken lessons before, and do not know scales or many chords, and christian identified exactly where to start off. He broke it down to a science and completely demystified the guitar. In small bite sized chunks we went for over two hours. It was a proper class with 1 on 1 personal attention. He is approachable with any question, and helps you understand the WHY of things, not just how to do something, which gives you such a stronger foundation to build off. I cannot wait for the next session.

My two daughters have been taking guitar lessons with Nick for 2-1/2 years, both on acoustic guitar and electric guitar. He has even taught my younger daughter how to play the ukulele. Nick is an awesome guitarist teacher. My girls have learned so much from him - how to read and write music, bar chords, strumming patterns, music theory and all different genres of music (like jazz, classical and even reggae). Nick can listen to any song my daughters want to learn, then immediately put the notes down on paper and teach it to them. Under his tuition, they’ve performed solo gigs, in their school talent shows, and for and with their friends. My older daughter also plays electric guitar in a teenage rock band. Thanks so much, Nick!!

My daughter, who is 8, started this fall taking lessons with Nick. We were so happy that she had such an enthusiasm to take lessons and learn an instrument, but even happier that we found someone who shares this same enthusiasm when teaching. Nick is patient and kind and makes learning fun for younger students! Learning an instrument can be frustrating in the beginning...having a teacher who takes that frustration away and patiently teaches and encourages young students is crucial! We are extremely happy and so is our daughter!

About Steve C.

Hi everyone,

I have 47 years of playing experience and I have taught literally hundreds of students to play the guitar. I first make sure each student learns to hold the pick and the Guitar properly, and the correct way to pick and strum. This will ensure that the student doesn't develop poor habits.

For little children, I first teach them to pick their favorite songs.

The next level is to learn Rhythm/Strumming patterns and your basic chord and chord progressions so that you can play along with all your favorite songs.

No matter what style of Guitar that you wish to learn, I have pretty much taught them all. If you want to be a lead player, I have got you covered there too. I can teach you to be the best picker you can be.

Not only will I teach you to play an instrument, but I will teach you to understand the music. In this way, you won't be playing like a computer program. You will become teachers yourselves.

About Steve
Hi everyone, I am so excited that you are interested in learning to play an instrument! When you take lessons from me, not only will you learn to play music, but you will have fun learning it as well. I will teach you to play the instrument of your choice without actually having to read music. And, you will be playing music from the very first lesson. We will get to the reading of music later if you so desire.

During my 35 years of professional teaching, I have taught hundreds of students to play musical instruments. As far as I know, I have personally taught more La State Fiddle Champions than anyone else. I have even taught celebrity students such as the children from the Duck Dynasty television series.

Because I play somewhere around 15 musical instruments, I have a unique way of teaching music that ties all music together making
it easy to understand. You will find yourself loving your music lessons.

I love to teach by teaching songs and I mean fun songs. We will learn Cotton Eyed Joe, Cripple Creek, Old Joe Clark, Love Me Tender, Amazing Grace, Fire on the Mountain and many, many more. It will not be a chore to get you or your kids to practice their instrument, but you may have a hard time getting them to put it down.

Whether you are just interested in learning to play songs that you know or whether you want to write your own music, I can teach you the ropes. You will have a musical understanding that few have.

Violin/Fiddle students, I can fix any fingering problems that you may be having in a matter of minutes, and you will have complete fingerings for every song that we play. You will have plenty to practice on while waiting for the next lesson.

Also, as an added benefit, I will be accompanying you on the Guitar which is beneficial when it comes to being able to hear if you are playing in tune, and this also gives the feeling of being part of a band.

Guitar students can learn many different styles of playing. I teach Rhythm, Flat picking, Fingerstyles, Country, Rock, Folk, Blues, Classical, and pretty much any other style of playing the guitar.

For all you young Mandolin players, get ready to pick! I will have you playing all the fun tunes So if you are ready to learn an instrument for you or your child, let me know and we will get you playing ASAP!

Wow! Steve, you never cease to amaze me-all of these instruments! Not only do you play them, you teach other people to play them and in different styles of music! But underlying all of this is your lifelong love, and reverence of music and its history. Teaching is your lifelong ambition. Just as important, maybe more so, is your love and respect for the people you teach! You have devoted your life to music! I’ve known you for a long time. You are the “real deal”. I respect you so much!

Steve taught me many things easily that I had always found difficult to learn and put into practice before, as I wasn't taught the right way. Learning from Steve will be a lot of fun and you won't regret taking his lessons. Because of what I learned from him I was able to make a CD with a friend in a studio. It was a wonderful experience and a lot of fun. I couldn't have done it without him! I am and always will be amazed at Steve's knowledge and skill. I would give 10 stars if I could....literally the best instructor ever!

Guitar requires foundation to be able to play the fun stuff. In teaching guitar, I assign classical pieces along with pieces that bring joy to the player. I specialize in improvisation and love to see players playing things not written on the staff while still able to play their Carcassi studies.

About John
I am currently pursuing a Jazz Performance degree at Florida State University. However trombone is not how I fell in love with music. I started taking classical guitar lessons at age seven and successfully continued through high school, becoming part of the all state guitar ensembles. I started on trombone at age 11. Through jazz, funk, blues and improvisation I fell in love with the sound and techniques I could implement on a brass horn. I continued playing both instruments in a funk band and still gig regularly on both.

Hey! I offer in person, one-on-one lessons in the Fort Collins, Colorado area. I recently received my Master's degree in music at University of Northern Colorado and received my Bachelors in guitar performance at Utah State University. I charge $30 for a half hour lesson and $50 for a full hour lesson. I also offer discounted skype lessons. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks

About Lance
My teaching philosophy is simple; I want to help my students achieve the goals they have with music. Whether that is learning a few simple Taylor Swift songs or passing a entrance audition into a university, I want to see my students succeed. I have worked on a curriculum that teaches skills and concepts that every musician must know. The combination of having a good curriculum in combination with teaching the students the music they love, creates good musicians and inspired students that are excited to come to guitar lessons each week.
I structure my lessons into four categories; lines, chords, technique, and repertoire. Lines can include melodies, scales, and for more advanced students soloing. Technique is an important area of focus for guitarists. Many older guitarists I know have injuries due to bad technique. Its very important to
instill proper technique in younger students so they won’t develop bad habits and have injuries later in life.
I love teaching guitar. It has been the most rewarding thing in my life. Seeing students gain confidence in their playing and also in themselves is an incredible experience. As a life long student of music myself I believe it is crucial to create musicians and music lovers out of our students.
