We feel that we totally lucked out with finding Jason who is a complete gem! He showed up on time and quickly inspired my son with the drawing lessons by having him draw Superheroes! So my son is having a great time with Jason who has a great way of giving feedback and steering Cody using a balance of instructions and positive feedback. Lucian W is an alumnus of Berklee College of Music in Boston and former faculty member of the Hartford Conservatory. His vocal studies have been with Jacqueline Jarrett and David Baker in Connecticut, Jane Ellison at Loyola University in Montreal, noted operatic tenor Carmine Gagliardi in New York City, and Gina Moretta (whose students have included Gloria Estefan and Jon Secada) in Miami. He studied privately with world famous jazz guitarists George Benson and Chuck Wayne and has had a full time performing career of several decades as a guitarist, pianist, vocalist, bassist, arranger and orchestra leader. Lucian believes that by sharing his enjoyment of making music with his students, he can give them confidence in other areas. That is because, in order to make music, they must go through a process of physical discovery through pr
actice. They are then empowered by experiencing the connections between inspiration, work, and pleasure. He performs, as a solo entertainer, an unusually wide ranging repertoire because of his versatility on guitar, piano, and vocals. Being an accomplished arranger with a vast library of charts also allows him to lead a ten piece orchestra as competently as a trio or quartet. He has performed extensively in New York, Chicago, Cape Cod, and Florida.
*** Lesson Details *** I always try to make lessons as comfortable and enjoyable as possible yet challenging enough to maintain interest. I build lessons around the student's individual interests (specific songs or styles) so that he or she can learn the technical fundamentals in a relevant context. My own curriculum is supplemented by the following: Guitar: Hal Leonard Guitar Method, Aaron Shearer Classical Guitar Method Piano: Alfred's Basic Piano Course , John W. Schaum Piano Course Voice: Jeffrey Allen's Secrets of Singing, Nicola Vaccai Practical Method
*** Studio Equipment *** Hardman baby grand acoustic piano OptimusMD1600 electronic keyboard Crate TX50D guitar amplifer
*** Specialties *** - Singing lesson time is generally divided 50/50 between voice building and repertoire. I accompany vocalists on both piano and guitar, teaching the melody notes as they are sung along with the piano. Then, once the melody is learned, I often switch to the guitar with just chordal backing. The acoustic guitar is also softer than the piano and lets the singer hear their own voice better. For voice building, I use my own concepts plus approaches of famous voice teachers like Jeffrey Allen, Seth Riggs, and Anthony Frissel. - I am very experienced performing all styles of guitar and can cater to the student's specific area of interest, whether it be rock, folk, classical, or jazz. - With piano, I work on fundamentals of reading and technique. Learning basic harmony and chord construction starting with triads (3 note chords), the student can soon read single stave lead sheets (a form of music notation widely utilized by professional musicians) as well as the grand staff. This approach trains the ear and makes learning how to play popular songs much easier.
This is a unique style of strumming the guitar that incorporates using the fingernails and also incorporates Spanish style guitar techniques this is a subject that I specialize in teaching and performing

I would highly recommend Tony Mitri as a voice and music instructor. My son takes lessons with Mr. Mitri and his progress has been astounding! He studies with other teachers previously without much success. My son has said he has learned more from Mr. Mitri than all of his previous instructors. He enjoys the lessons so he works harder at making progress and it shows. He helped him expand his range substantially, and increase his confidence. I would highly recommend him to anyone interested in music of any kind. Mr.Mitri is awesome professional, patient and extremely knowledgeable. You won’t be disappointed.

I am a concert guitarist, a teacher, a wife and a mom to wonderful 5 year old son.
You will learn to play music you love. We will use the design of the guitar to your learning and playing advantage. Students like yourself learn to play beautifully in days, sometimes hours.
You are growing in a direction every moment. Whether that direction includes excellence with the magical instrument we know as a guitar, or somewhere else, is a choice completely up to you now.
I will not only be your teacher, but I will teach you how to be your teacher.
I quit guitar at 7 years old. I realized that many people quit for the same reason I did: when their fingers stroked the guitar, they didn't like the sounds they heard. Like many, I grew tired of the instrument, had no motivation to build the required finger strength, and decided playing guitar was ultimately boring (with all the wisdom of a 7 year old).
Later on in my life, I taught myself to play, and fell madly in love with playing guitar...
The difference was all in my approach.
One part was that I only played what I loved. There's a psychological benefit to that, and I will explain in session.
I learned to play beautifully rapidly (in days), and a year later, I learned to play classically, which was much easier at that point in time for two reasons: 1. I had the finger strength built up 2. I had experience expressing my soul
with the guitar thanks to my approach
In all my 15 years in music, I have never met anyone approach guitar like I did. It was a blessing that the creativity came to me, allowing me to go from one who had no patience or interest in the instrument, to being considered prodigious by nearly all of my peers, and performing live for prestigious events, as well as sitting down with a couple record labels; one being the largest in my country.
It's much easier and simpler than you think... When the teacher is great, they don't teach you much! Rather, they unleash something within you.
Guy's a legend and he's not even 30 I don't think. You will love learning to play with Spencer!!!!!
April 14, 2019
I am taking Spencer's advanced course at the moment, and I gotta say... This guy is just prodigious.
He's really personable, so in our first lessons, I learned that he taught himself to play by ear, like many of the greats.
What is really helping me play better, is something he calls the art of transformation; something he learned from listening to rare vinyl records nearly 100 years old.
Not only will you get better at guitar, but if you ask Spencer, you will learn many interesting facts about music and it's evolution.
Guitar requires foundation to be able to play the fun stuff. In teaching guitar, I assign classical pieces along with pieces that bring joy to the player. I specialize in improvisation and love to see players playing things not written on the staff while still able to play their Carcassi studies.
I am currently pursuing a Jazz Performance degree at Florida State University. However trombone is not how I fell in love with music. I started taking classical guitar lessons at age seven and successfully continued through high school, becoming part of the all state guitar ensembles. I started on trombone at age 11. Through jazz, funk, blues and improvisation I fell in love with the sound and techniques I could implement on a brass horn. I continued playing both instruments in a funk band and still gig regularly on both.
For starters he has a complete and thorough text book chock full of examples and exercises. He supplements that wit
h practice loops and online videos.
More important, Ahmad provides an excellent foundation for playing guitar. He patiently works through all of the essential steps to playing guitar. And, he makes it fun by adding real riffs and licks from luminaries such as Jimmy Hendrix, Muddy Waters, Pat Metheny and many others."
"Perry takes the time to explain flamenco and related styles deeply and thoroughly. He also provides detailed micro-scale feedback on hand/arm placement, o
rientation, range and which muscle groups to engage. But more than the technical, he has an awesome vibe and makes learning guitar quite an enjoyable experience."
"I had a wonderful experience studying flamenco guitar with Edward and would highly recommend him to anyone. I came to Edward with a very specific problem
of trying to learn the rasgueado technique in Flamenco. After spending the better part of a year attempting to learn via Youtube videos, etc., but to no real avail, I knew it was time to find a one-on-one teacher. Edward was experienced, patient, a great communicator, and made me feel comfortable during the lessons. He very thoroughly taught the technique and chose songs for me to practice that would help me to slowly build this ability. When I mentioned a particular song that I was interested in learning, he spent hours in his off time doing a transcription of it for me. A great guy and a great teacher!"
"Very nice lesson - we went over the chords of "Margaritaville" plus a scale exercise. Marc is also very receptive to songs I would like to learn to play
and help with them."
"It was a very good session. Although it’s quite a challenge to see the exact strokes and finger movements online during the class"
"Best teacher, very patient with me, learned a lot. If you are looking to actually learn something definitely go with him."
"Great experience and learn many new techniques in just a few lessons. Guilherme is a excellent teacher and very kind and patient during our classes."
"Ayme is a great teacher, makes learning very easy to enjoy...."
"David is a talented and extremely knowledgable musician. He has a deep love and respect for the music and imparts this love on his students. Always goin
g above and beyond, he gives all of himself in his students, making sure they not only have proper technique, but a strong foundation of knowledge about the tradition of flamenco. He is able to breakdown and explain the complexities of this arcane art form in a way that is accessible to all levels of musicians. I couldn't recommend him more highly!"
Falling in love with the sounds of flamenco guitar is easy, but this instrument is fun to learn and play too! In this article, we'll help you learn the basic terms and techniques for flamenco guitar.
Some folks get interested in flamenco through its virtuosic guitar playing, rhythmic dancing and colorful dresses, or the expressive nature of Gypsy singing. For guitarists of other styles, playing flamenco is among the most respected styles in the world thanks to its sound, tonality, and tec …
