I want to help you be the best percussionist you can be. With percussion, there are so many different instruments to play but what ties it all together is the technique you use to play the instruments.

Here’s my secret! To get the best, most resonant sound out of any instrument I strike. That’s it.

How you do that is dependent on the instrument, the mallet choice, the striking area, the touch, and many other factors. I want to help you with these so you can progress faster, learn how to think about these choices quicker and easier, so you can make BETTER music FASTER!

Andrew has degrees in Percussion Performance from Indiana University and Cal State University Long Beach. He has studied a number of different instruments with some of the best players in the business. You may study any kind of percussion whether it is classical, jazz, marching, or world that you wish to learn.

I can help beginning students on percussion learn the basics.

I am a professional percussion performer and educator. I would love to teach you the basic technique, sound concept and repertoire of all kinds of percussion instruments. I teach any age and level of study. I hope to share my knowledge and experience to you.

- Beginning Students: Lessons would cover basic technique, sound concept, rhythm, sight reading and rudimentary knowledge of different kinds of percussion instruments (studio lesson preferred)
- Intermediate - Advanced Students:
Preparing for any percussion competition, audition and performance or solo percussion repertoire

Instruments available in the studio: 5.0 octave marimba, 3.0 xylophone, a collection of snare drums, timpani and other orchestral accessories.

Coming from 15+ years' experience learning, interpreting, & performing music; 7+ years recording, & 6+ years teaching, you can expect from me an enjoyable, streamlined lesson to help strengthen your musical understanding & ability to further utilize your love for music. I specialize in classical, jazz fundamentals, rock/pop, recording, composition, & live performance. I'm fairly well versed in many other genres, so I can easily meet your preferences across the board. Cultivate a deeper relationship with your instrument & unlock your potential! :)

Experienced music teacher of 7 years available for eager students of all experience levels and ages! I have played on Drum lines for close to 10 years. I have also been the assistant directer of CYO Emerald Knights Drumline and Director of the BSCS Drumline.
