I equally cover fundamentals, technique, tone production, solo rep., orchestral music, jazz and anything else the student might be interested in.

About Nathan
I have been teaching private lessons for close to 10 years and have been an active performer for even longer, playing in all different types of groups, from rock bands and jazz groups to orchestras and brass bands. I studied music at Frostburg State University (Bachelors) and the Peabody Conservatory (Masters). I can teach just about any age and skill level and cover anything you are interested in learning; whether its a certain style, genre, technique or song.

*** Lesson Details ***
My lessons are laid back, with a focus on perfecting the basics. Most students work out of a method book appropriate to their skill level. Aside from that we'll also spend time learning songs and pieces of the students choice. With the right amount of effort, you'll know your way around your instrument in no time at all

*** Travel Equipment ***
Will provide sheet music and exercises. My students should have a working instrument as well as any method book or sheet music we are working on.

*** Specialties ***
I teach all styles and genres

This is the first lesson I got to listen to of my son working with Nathan. Usually I'm not home from work. I am really impressed with how much he was able to help my son improve so quickly. I wish we had started this much sooner.

As a professional brass musician, I have been teaching brass instruments for over twelve years.

For the beginner level, I have introduced many students to their first instrument ensuring that fundamentals are in place. At the intermediate level, I have helped many students advance in competitions and seat assignments within their band program. As a collegiate educator, I have given masterclasses at universities and private lessons to music performance students preparing for auditions and solo recitals.

I have taught online lessons for over four years and have used multiple online communication platforms to teach effective lessons. My students truly enjoy the online interaction during their lessons.

I have taught a wide variety of ages - everyone from 10 years old to 76 years old. One of the great joys I have in teaching is that each student brings their own unique strengths to lessons. My goal is to raise their level of playing while always having fun.

About Jeremy
Jeremy S. has been teaching private brass lessons for over 13 years and is currently available to teach weekly lessons at his home in Centerburg, OH or online via the TakeLessons Classroom, Skype, Facetime, Google Hangouts, VSee, or AppearIn. Jeremy S. has helped students improve their playing abilities on trombone, trumpet, tuba, and baritone/euphonium, to successfully audition for youth orchestras, competitions, college auditions, and local events. He provides traditional classical training on trombone, trumpet, tuba, and baritone/euphonium, works with students to play for their own enjoyment and shares his passion for music. In addition, I will provide instruction on music theory and music history as part of instrumental lessons as it applies.

Jeremy received his training at Grace College in 2010, where he received a Bachelors of Mu
sic in Instrumental Performance. In addition, he attended the Carnegie Mellon University in 2012 where he received a Masters in Music. He has studied with Peter Sullivan, Jim Kraft, John Kitzman, and Graeme Mutchler.

As an expert in his field, Jeremy looks forward to helping new students achieve their goals. Jeremy's teaching style is positive, supportive, patient and constructive, focused on the individual student's needs, and enjoyable. Jeremy will work at your pace and cares about each of his students. Jeremy will teach you the proper positions and fingerings, technique, how to read music and how to improve your playing.

I am currently accepting new students. I recommend weekly lessons for all students to ensure good progress, but I do offer bi-weekly lessons as well. I can provide information on purchasing or renting an instrument if needed. You can check my availability on my schedule and sign up for lessons with TakeLessons.com. Please e-mail me with any questions or about available times for lessons. I will respond quickly. Thank you for your interest and consideration.

My son has been taking trombome lessons with Jeremy for over a year and a half now. Jeremy provides great instruction, better than I could imagine in an online format. When my son is struggling with a new skill, Jeremy tries strategy after stratgy very patiently until he finds the technique that works. Jeremy puts in lots of extra time making recordings and selecting pieces for my son.

I am a professional musician based out of the Washington D.C. area. I am currently a tuba player in The United States Army Band "Pershing's Own."

I believe that having fun, being able to clearly share your musical ideas with others, and being a well-rounded person are an integral to being a musician.

Every student has different goals and desires and I strive to create a specifically tailored course of study with each of my students.

Whether you are just starting out, or are an advanced player, I would be happy to work with you!

About Zach
Zach joined The United States Army Band “Pershing’s Own” Ceremonial Band in August, 2016. His primary duties include supporting funerals at Arlington National Cemetery as well as wreath laying ceremonies by heads of state and other foreign dignitaries at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, monthly retirement parades, special reviews, and arrival and departure honors for foreign dignitaries at the White House and Pentagon.

Zach received his bachelor’s degree from Baylor University where he studied with Dr. Kent Eshelman. He received his master’s degree from Rice University’s Shepherd School of Music, where he studied with David Kirk, Principal Tuba of the Houston Symphony.

Prior to joining “Pershing’s Own,” Zach performed with the Houston Ballet, East Texas Symphony and the Waco Symphony, as well as the festival orchestras of Lake Geor
ge, Brevard Music Center, National Music Festival, Texas Music Festival, and the Sewanee Music Festival.

In addition, Zach has performed in several solo competitions including the Artist Tuba solo competition at the 2014 International Tuba Euphonium Conference in Bloomington, Indiana, where he was a semi-finalist. He was also named winner of the 2011 Young Artist Tuba division at the International Leonard Falcone solo competition.

I am a current college student and have been playing since 6th grade. I've been in numerous honor bands in 1st chair and All-State in 2014. I've worked with my alma mater middle and high school low brass sections on request from the directors. I want to share the passion that i have for playing and show how much there is to learn and master on the instrument. I love to work with beginners because they are the future of music and its necessary to pass on the knowledge that was passed onto me.

About Ron
I'm currently a senior Aerospace Engineering student at Georgia Tech and a member of the music program. Music has been an escape while in school and helping those come after me has been a priority. I have given lessons before on request from my previous band directors and parents. I have a strong ability to connect with younger students going through the same auditions and concerts that I've been participating in for the past 10 years.

I enjoy nurturing musical creativity in my
students.

It is Rapturous for me when a student realizes
their own musicality by going past just
playing the notes on the page, to actively
expressing the Message (which could be a
Thought, Emotion, or a Scene) that is
inherent in the piece.

In a Low Brass lesson, I have the student play:
-A quick and effective warm-up with me.
-A quick review of their assigned
technical exercises.
-Their assigned Etude or Chart or Solo.
-A Duet with Me.

Technical aspects of Performance:
1. A mastery of ability to Sight Sing.
2. Clean Articulation.
3. A wide (and well-sounding) Range.
4. Moving between partials is Flexible.
5. A beautiful Tone.

I wish for my students to become more than
just good instrumentalists, I want for them
to always have fun with music. When a
student realizes that music can ultimately be
Emotional and Creative Outlet for them,
they will be Musicians for life!

About Scott
I am a Bass Trombonist, but teach all brass instruments. I have been teaching for 20 years. I help my students build their Tone, Technique and Articulation by teaching a simple Warm-Up routine. I have written an 8-page eBook entitled "Optimal Brass Playing" that describes ten areas of best practices in Brass playing. Each of my students receives one of these.
I also heavily emphasize instruction on Sight Reading. In fact, I have recently written a book on the subject that I will soon publish entitled "Page to Performance". As a Composer, I have also written Duet parts to all 65 Introductory Melodious Etudes that were fist compiled by Alan Raph. I use these Duets in lessons to help my students strengthen their Listening Awareness skills.
