Transcend the instrument and be able to play with anything. Learn your favorite tunes by ear and on the guitar. That is what I focus on. From beginning rudiments all the way through completely breaking down and conceptualizing the fretboard.

I've been playing for 20 years and have studied jazz at Peabody Conservatory and Berklee College of Music. However, I have played in bluegrass, rock, funk, hip hop and klezmer bands, as well.

I try to create an individual approach for each student because every person learns uniquely. I work with people on skills that apply to music at large, as well as the guitar 🎸. My goal is to help a student learn how to learn on their own, and provide the tools to do so.

I have developed a standardized, systematic approach to guitar instruction based on the belt system used by traditional martial arts. As students progress through the ranks, they are awarded different color “belts”. Beginners are white belts. The next level is yellow belt. Orange is next followed by red, purple, blue, and finally a black belt! I use pre existing text books so that the learning material is organized and easily accessible. I have had great success with my methods and my system makes the learning a lot more fun. I can also customize lessons for intermediate to advanced students who need to focus on certain key areas and can also prepare students for college entrance auditions. Group classes are available in special subject such as theory, note reading and advanced harmonic and melodic concepts. I am an energetic and enthusiastic instructor who insures that students enjoy their learning experience while being able to gauge their progress toward their personal musical ...

About Billy

Most of what I do as an instructor stems from my frustration as a student. I am convinced that the way I was taught to play music on the guitar is NOT the best way to learn it. I have spent a great deal of time developing my own methodology and feel as though I have a much better way to convey info

My lessons give you an immediate sense of accomplishment. Learning fundamentals of guitar, music and technique are important, but so is having fun. I strive to help every student have fun while learning and to set achievable goals for each lesson. I don’t just teach you how to play the guitar - I show you how to find your inner musical voice and how to cultivate it along with improvement of your technical ability so that you may enjoy the personal self-expression that learning the guitar can offer you.

I worked with Jeremy in my capacity as a writer for the Shepherd Express newspaper in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. For this alternative weekly, I wrote an "Off the Cuff" (Q&A-style article with Milwaukeeans of note) featuring his wife and business partner, Julie, regarding their SuperStars Camp. Jeremy helped coordinate our communication and furnished me with information about their wonderful program. During this process, Jeremy was prompt, efficient and helpful in his communication. I believe that these qualities would translate to many work areas. Likewise, I believe his management of the SuperStars Camp--which provides a 2-week, multi-disciplinary arts experience for young people with special needs as well as typically developing individuals--speaks highly to his character and commitment to the health and growth of our local community. Based on my experience working with Jeremy, I would recommend him for similar positions.

Jeremy is an extremely patient, kind and caring instructor who accomplishes the creation of a fun and comfortable learning environment. This allows the student to spend the entirety of their energy and focus on improving their skills. He always takes into account the learner's interests, feelings and opinions, providing a thoroughly individualized experience.

From Contemporary Christian Music all the way to Heavy Metal and everything in between, I equip my students with not only the necessary skills to proficiently play most genres, but with the confidence to excel both on the stage and in the studio. With years of professional touring and recording as the guitarist of a Christian Worship band and employment as the worship leader at several different churches, I'm your guy when it comes to all things church-related. But hey, if that's not your thing, don't look away just yet as I also have 15 years of heavy metal/rock and roll experience as well as a deep love for the pop-punk and folk genres (with much experimental dabbling in the areas of blues, jazz and bluegrass). Whether you're a beginner who's still trying to get those tough barre chords down, an intermediate player who's looking to shred the neck even faster, or someone who's never even touched a guitar, I encourage you to take a step of boldness and let me help you become the best ...

About Eli

When I was a child I begged my parents to buy me a guitar, and as I grew up, year after year, I eagerly watched as each of my siblings (I have 7) received their very own "axe" on Christmases and birthdays. I waited and waited...but mine never came. Even my younger siblings got theirs before I did.

I recently began singing again after a year and was very unconfident in my voice and my ability to improve. Albino was the perfect instructor for someone like me because of his patience and positivity. He was able to point out issues with my singing technique or provide feedback in a very positive way, without seeming critical. Whenever I was confused about something, he would work with me non-stop until I understood. Albino inspires confidence in all his students, and I highly recommend him as a teacher!

"Dave is very knowledgeable and will work with you in any genre or style of music. As an older student I felt totally comfortable with Dave from the very first notes struck. I would highly recommend Dave to anyone wishing to improve their guitar skills....but dont expect to be playing like Clapton immediately!
My only issue is the long drive from Vero Beach to his studio. Something to take into consideration."

"I am a 64 year old woman who wanted to learn to play electric guitar blues lead. I have worked with musicians who teach and have been very disappointed. As soon as I read Chris' profile, I knew he would be a good teacher. I am a professional tutor and I could tell by the way Chris wrote about teaching that he would be skilled. I was absolutely accurate. Chris knows a lot about music and guitar playing, and he is also thoughtful and very present to the student. He is flexible and can move with a student who needs that. He also can work from a theory based place if the student needs that. To help me, he has written tab guitar licks for me, recorded Mp3 examples, and chord diagrams. I cannot speak highly enough about Chris as a teacher and highly recommend him."

"I took lessons with Andrea for three years to work on the material that I was performing with my band at the time. It was an amazing experience, I quickly realized how much knowledge I had been missing out on and my guitar playing was quickly taken to the next level. He definitely took me out of the rut I was in and was an invaluable help in getting to the next level."

"Ryan has definitely opened up my perspective with regard to learning my instrument and "hearing" tonal options for music I like to play. I'm a working Dad with very limited time for lessons and practice, so an online learning platform has worked best for me. Ryan has been very accommodating and flexible. More than that, he's been extremely patient with my learning style. In addition to opening up my instrument for me, he's fostered a passion for learning guitar and a taste for new music that I may not have listened to/learned otherwise. I love music and because of Ryan, I've found a very heartfelt, almost tangible, passion for playing it. Ryan...thank you!!"

Blues Guitar Basics: How to Play a Blues Shuffle

Ready to learn to play blues guitar? This lesson from guitar teacher James W. is the perfect place to start... What is a shuffle, anyway? A shuffle is a rhythm of 8th notes played in triplets, essentially playing 3/4 time over a 4/4 beat to make the music swing. Blues, pop, jazz, and rock musicians all use the shuffle. The blues shuffle is a fun pattern that is simple to absorb into your playing across many genres of music. Think of pop, rock, big band, and blues as being a part of the s …

Tricks For Differentiating The Two Blues Chord Progressions

Ready to get started with learning blues chord progressions? Here's an intro by Austin, TX guitar teacher Samuel B...   In order to properly respect and understand both the theory and structure of ANY kind of American music, it's essential to be able to play the blues. Although the form is said (by some scholars) to have originated in Africa within the story-telling traditions of village griots (historians/poets/musicians who would play a five-stringed instrument known as the halam, which …

As an instructor (and blues guitar afficionado), I'm keen on you developing a working knowledge of the blues.
