I've been playing for 20 years and have studied jazz at Peabody Conservatory and Berklee College of Music. However, I have played in bluegrass, rock, funk, hip hop and klezmer bands, as well.

I try to create an individual approach for each student because every person learns uniquely. I work with people on skills that apply to music at large, as well as the guitar 🎸. My goal is to help a student learn how to learn on their own, and provide the tools to do so.

Hi, my name is Gabriel and I teach guitar mandolin, and ukulele!
I teach all levels from beginner to advanced. Styles ranging from fingerpicking, Travis picking (folk Americana classical) chicken pickin (country), flat picking (bluegrass) economy picking(fusion jazz) , alternative , sweep picking and most styles of guitar.

I’ve been playing music for 20 years, and have been performing for 7. I’ve studied music theory at sierra college for 2 years. I also play with the band Brotherly Mud who are hailed as the best up and coming Americana band of the Northern California region. I find my students needs and work with them! Whether it be theory, songwriting, technique or improvising.

I have been recording & performing blues music since late 2004, & in that time I've acquired a lot of knowledge on the nuances involved in making blues music truly sing on the guitar. We will cover rhythm guitar approaches, chord voicing, when to play (& not to play), developing leads, & working/blending as an ensemble member of a blues band.

Lessons with me are like playing a video game that trains you to be good at music. Seriously. Every exercise we do will generate a score, and you can practice between lessons in order to “beat your high score” during the next one. Ask me anything!
