I've been teaching Voice for several years, and my students have gone on to perform in symphony choirs, operas, and work as solo artists. Within the first few lessons, you'll be able to sing a song from memory, and as time goes on you'll have a full repertoire list of pieces ready to go! I specialize in opera and art song. I love working with students of all ages and experience levels, and I can't wait to meet you!

I have studied voice for over ten years, and have been teaching voice professionally since 2015, including two years of teaching experience at the university level. My students have ranged in age from graduate students, to high schoolers, and have been admitted to prestigious conservatories and ensembles. I am comfortable teaching all genres. My goal is to help you find your voice, and discover how to use it as well as you possibly can!

Lessons will consist of a warm up and repertoire work! I am a firm believer of a strong foundation for singing, meaning creating a good breath support system, working on consistency in the voice, and doing what makes each singer comfortable. I want everyone to truly enjoy what they sing, and so choosing repertoire will be a very collaborative process! My main goal is for growth in the singer, as a person and as a musician. Taking voice lessons online makes sense at this time. Take from an instructor with 47 years of experience teaching vocal music--privately, in the public schools, directing church choirs and barbershop choruses. I will work with you on your vocal technique (breathing, vowels, timbre, ear-training, etc.), sight-reading and applying those skills to repertoire that fits your preferred styles.

Students who are new to music can expect (from me) a patient teacher that will help them learn how to sight read new music and won’t be too strict with them. I am not an intimidating person, so I will make the lessons as friendly, professional, and productive as possible. I do, however, expect my students to learn as much as possible. I get joyful when I see someone learn something new and I enjoy singing as much as I enjoy teaching how to sing.
