I teach many areas of Bluegrass guitar: basic to advanced rhythm styles, lead guitar, fingerpicking, improvisation. I also teach how to read music and play by ear.

My guitar lessons are unique, because I incorporate many different genres of music in my teaching. I tailor each lesson to the specific needs of the individual, and pace the lessons to the speed of learning for each student.

I love bluegrass. My special interests range from Merle Travis, Bela Fleck and the Flecktones and Tony Rice but also include newer groups like the Punch Brothers and Allison Krauss.

Whether it’s getting your right hand alternating thumb pattern down, getting your flat–picking accurate and speedy, or learning to improvise over Bluegrass Standards, I can help.

I am professional touring musician with many years of real world experience learning songs and parts to play on stage. I remember what it was like to know nothing about the guitar and the hard work it takes to get proficient. I can help you discover your voice on the instrument, teach things that excite you and provide a solid foundation for learning

I have been teaching for over fifteen years. We will work on standard tunes as well as any of your favorites.You can choose to learn by ear, notation, tab, or some combination of these. I enjoy giving music lessons, and I believe you will enjoy the lessons.

Hi fellow musicians! I am a professional touring musician, songwriter, and recording artist based in Austin, TX. I graduated magna cum laude with a degree in Mandolin Performance and a minor in American Roots Music from Berklee College of Music in Boston.

Every musician has their own voice in this world. I want to work with you to mold and develop that voice with solid fundamentals and understanding of how music works. We will go over music theory and how it applies to your instrument and we will also touch on the mechanics of being a proficient player. All these things lead to being the best musician you can be!
