I tailor all my lessons to the individual students interests and wants.
Whatever your goals are, I'll help you get there.

About Paul
I have played the guitar for twenty years and have studied a wide variety of music including jazz, classical, folk, blues and rock. I’m skilled in acoustic, electric and classical styles of the guitar. I have an open mind about music and can appreciate any style or type. I have a firm background on music theory, so I am able to explain what I am teaching. I excelled in all my classes in college, music and Gen Eds, with a GPA over 3.75. I also have experience in teaching guitar or bass to students ranging from the ages of six to sixty six. I enjoy taking what I have learned and passing it on to someone else to experience. I believe this is one way you can leave your mark in music. I believe the experience I have playing in bands, and learning songs with my ability of having relative pitch will make my students improve quicker. I am a
lso a very skilled sight reader and can recognize key signatures and musical notation. I’ve also been playing electric bass guitar for 13 years now and have the same skill set as my guitar playing. In fact I am hired to perform more often as a bassist than a guitarist.
I went to Columbia College between 2000-2003 and I completed a Bachelor Arts in Music, Concentration: Instrument Performance.
I also went to Harper College between 1997-2000 and I completed an Associates in Fine Arts of Music.

Paul does a great job teaching my girlfriend and I in a joint lesson. He's really good about giving us both equal attention, and keeps the class moving smoothly even as we switch off the guitar between us.

With much experience performing with rock bands covering Clapton, Hendrix, Zeppelin and the like, I can show you my bag full of tricks and ways to sound original.

About Jonathan
About

I am a Florida native, active doctoral student, teacher and practitioner. My career includes performing and recording as a guitarist and teaching subjects such as music or math. Grade-school academic strengths in mathematics represent my enthusiasm for the subject. The math equivalent in music can be considered music theory, which is another passion of mine. I hope to take these well-rounded characteristics to teach and influence others with what I have learned in my education and career thus far.

Education & Teaching Experience:

I am currently pursuing my Doctorate of Musical Arts from Shenandoah University and hold a Masters of Music from the University of Akron and a Bachelor of Music from Stetson University (all degrees with a guitar performance emphasis). I also have a temporary teaching certificate for Music K-12 fro
m the Florida Department of Education. I have taught in Florida as a preferred substitute for general music classes, K-12. In college, I have given study sessions for music theory levels ranging from 4-part writing to post-serialism.

Degrees:
Doctorate of Musical Arts: Guitar Performance; Shenandoah University, expected May 2017/2018
Master of Music: Guitar Performance; University of Akron, May 2014
Bachelor of Music: Guitar Performance; Stetson University, 2011

While giving lessons:
I ensure that every student receives fundamental foundation pertaining to the subject. While learning the basics, I advise that the student organizes their lessons and materials in a way that displays progress over time. With the proper knowledge, we can treat the heart of a subject with refinement in order to grasp it's purpose and reason---whether its music or math.

Why?
My students have grown with confidence through a sense of accomplishment. Success does not only affect a person's well-being but can also impact other dimensions of their lives.

*** Studio Equipment ***
Equipment available if needed:

Foot stools
Music stands
Pencils
Complete home recording studio

About Tim
I love to help anyone who has been told they're not able to play guitar, has quit out of frustration, or been told they're too old or too young to play.

*** Lesson Details ***
Each lesson is customized to your learning style and different for everyone depending on what you want to learn. Most of my students like to learn from scratch which would include the following:
In the first 3 lessons you will learn basic guitar fundamentals, basic 1-4-5 song progressions (the stuff that 85% of all music we listen to is made up of), left hand / right hand coordination, picking techniques, how to strum, mute, & play notes on the guitar.

We can play as a band too. When you are ready, I love to bring out the drum or backing tracks to your favorite artists songs while you play guitar and I play what your not, giving you the feel of a live group
situation that can make learning at your lesson more fun.

Genres include Acoustic, Blues, Country, R&B, Funk, Latin, Jazz, Rock, Pop and more.

Tim did a great job of explaining the lessons and provided valuable information about reading music. Unfortunately, at the time I started, I also had a newborn making it very hard to stay on track with practicing. Now that my daughter is older, I have more time to practice, and look forward to taking lessons soon.

I have played guitar since I was 12 and been teaching in the Las Vegas area for the past 8. Studied formally in Contemporary, Classical, Blues styles & Improvisation. Have taken multiple seminars under Berklee International Network. I currently Perform Live with a band and have Professionally Produced albums on iTunes. I am a patient teacher good with beginners and challenging with advanced. I am also available

About J. Pablo
Pablo possesses a natural talent for music and is also academically accomplished. I believe Pablo was prepared for each lesson and his compassion for this subject was very high.
I've had a couple different private teachers prior to Pablo, but Pablo was the only teacher that excelled at improvisation and had a more methodical approach to musical performance. The first few lessons consisted of learning theory and how the music scales are related to each other. As the lessons evolve, we use that knowledge to start improvising. Even though I play guitar as hobby, Pablo gives me the motivation to get better as a guitar player. I hold him in the highest regard, and I would rate Pablo as an excellent teacher.

Based upon his knowledge and ability to play guitar, I believe he would be one of the best teachers to take lessons from.

Sincerely,

Al
len Yoo

To potential Guitar students and parents.
Pablo is the guitar teacher for my son. He makes learning very enjoyable. He teaches in such a comfortable way that you don't realize you are studying. He teaches all the basics and theory with the song of your choice. He has a very pleasant and patient personality. He gives the students confidence with lots of praise and affirmation. He loves music and guitar and he passes that on to his students. I highly recommend this talented teacher. June B.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Pablo is a fantastic teacher who helped me push through the barriers taking me from a beginning guitarist to intermediate and beyond. He teaches in a very clear and direct style, touching on all the things that makes someone a well rounded guitar player, chords, leads, improvising, theory, tempo and creativity.

My lessons with Pablo weren't just guitar lessons, but music lessons, as he broke down music theory and how it relates to writing your own song, or improvising with a group. He does this in a way that's practical for guitarists, with mental shortcuts and tip that can only come from a seasoned guitarist / songwriter / all around good dude. Clyde B.

I have been playing guitar for 11 years, and I can teach you any song you want to learn. My favorite genre is classic rock, but I can teach you anything from classical favorites from composers like Beethoven to blues hits and rock and roll.

About Nicholas
Hello! Im Nick Thompson, a professional guitar player. Music is the most important thing in my life aside from my family, and that is saying a lot! I love classic rock, classical music, and jazz. I am self taught, and that is why i want to help others learn to play what I enjoy so much and hope for others to do as well. Music is also how i met my lovely wife, Brittany, a professional singer. Music has been the most positive influence on my life in every way possible, and it is what I intend to dedicate my life to and have already done so for the majority of my life.

Nick is my husband and we met through our mutual love of music! He is truly a wonderful and talented man that has a caring heart for those who want to learn . I admire most the fact that he is truly a stand alone talent in his family being the only musician and is completely self taught. As a singer myself that has come down from a long family history of music, I have a true respect for someone disciplined and passionate enough to teach himself what we both love so much. I know that he will be an excellwnt teacher and you won't regret your choice. :)
