I teach all sub-genres of blue...Texas, Chicago, Jump, slide, jazz-blues, and blues/rock. I have been teaching this style for 15 years.

I am very patient and adjust areas of study to fit my students goals.

About Kimberly
I started playing music around the Kansas City area twenty five years ago. I graduated from The University of Southern California with a degree in studio/jazz guitar (cum laude). While at USC, I received a merit scholarship and an award for professional leadership and service within her department. I also graduated with honors from Musicians Institute (GIT), of Hollywood, CA.

I have toured the U.S. and Canada playing venues such as The Portland Rose Festival, The Playboy Jazz Festival, The Santa Monica Twilight Concert Series, Irvine Lake Blues Festival,The Burnaby British Columbia Blues Festival and the Long Beach Blues Festival. The headliners at these events included Robben Ford, The Neville Brothers, and Johnny Winter.

I have released two solo CD's that have received first-rate reviews, as well as international airplay. Af
ter the second CD, I was biographied for AMG (All Music Guide) the internet's first source for music information. Here are excerpts from the AMG bio:

... there are also elements of Jimi Hendrix (arguably the first true heavy metal/hard rock artist), Jeff Beck and Stevie Ray Vaughan in her playing, and she clearly has a strong appreciation of jazz--not only jazz-rock fusion improvisers like John Scofield, Larry Coryell and Mahavishnu Orchestra founder John McLaughlin, but also, straight-ahead bop favorites such as Kenny Burrell, Grant Green, Wes Montgomery and Joe Pass.......eclectic outlook is one of her strong points; her ability to move from a tough, aggressive blues-rock groove to a more cerebral, fusion-minded approach to the occasional soul-jazz/hard bop number has made for some very unpredictable albums.

I have been teaching full-time for the past 15years. I have taught all ages and popular styles. In 2008, my blues guitar method was published and distributed through Amazon.

*** Lesson Details ***
I incorporate a tailored curriculum to help people achieve their personal goals. Learning music is not a "one-size fits all" proposition. I can show you the songs that you want to play. I can also teach you music theory, technique, improvisation, reading and more. I adjust your course of study according to your areas of interest. If you are dying to learn a Led Zeppelin tune, or are planning on auditioning for a college level jazz guitar program, I can help you achieve these goals. I have taught hundreds of beginners along side more advanced students. My students have gone one to study music at GIT, Fullerton College, Pasadena City College, Berklee, Cal State LA, and USC.

Most of all, I am extremely patient. The ability to playing a musical instrument is measure on a calendar, not on a watch. I often work at a slow, systematic pace. I am generally very laid-back. On the other hand, if you learn very quickly, I can readily show you the skills you need to meet your goal. I have fast-tracked many individuals that were seeking admittance to an academic program.

My teaching studio is computer equipped. This allows me to incorporate computer software that enhances learning. One such program, Band in a Box, generates accompaniment for students so that they can work on their soloing skills. Another program can slow recorded music down so that the student can practice slowly with it. Also, I often give out play-along practice CDs for improved learning.

The aspect of performance is often not addressed by many. I am able to work with my guitar students while accompanying by performing live bass or drum parts, or work with bass students while playing the guitar or drum parts. This allows the student to understand his or her roll in an live band.

I really like Kimberly because she lets me pick my own songs to learn and is really nice in general. She makes music sheets for me to take home and study and I’ve learned a lot from her since my first lesson. I think she is a great music teacher and I hope anybody who wants to take guitar lessons will give her a shot.

Mark is a fantastic teacher. He is very patient and positive at all times. My teenage daughter and I both take lessons and he is very comfortable with our different learning styles and speeds. I particularly appreciate his focus on teaching from real songs. His attention to detail is great and I am always impressed that he is teaching us to listen and decode the chords, the strums and subtle little moments in the music. I highly recommend Mark - even for 50-something beginners like myself.

I have 20 years of experience as a working professional musician. Whether a beginner or a budding artist I have something to offer all levels. From basic music theory and guitar technique to advanced classes in live sound, recording, gigging 101, and vocal technique. Student have access to my professional recording studio with a wide array of vintage and modern industry standard equipment. Classes and lesson plans are adaptable to all skill levels and based on the students musical goals.

About Stephen
I am a singer songwriter guitarist with over 20 years experience. My first gig was in a blues ensemble with my first instructor at the age of 16. He went on to become a professor at the University of CIncinnat and eventually director of the music dept. where I also attended. It lit a fire in me to perform that has never dimmed. We performed at many high level blues and music festivals opening for legends of the blues and rock genre. the 1998 I joined an established touring band and hit the road for a couple years performing original music on the club and festival circuit. We officially released one album and countless live recordings exist. In 2003 I decided to focus on my own material and began performing a solo singer songwriter. Since then I have released 2 full length albums, 1-ep, and several singles. In 2011 I built a professiona
l studio where I teach and produce my own material as well as other artists. I have mentored several students that went on to successful music carreers. I have also owned two different live music venues over the last 20 years selling the last in 2017. I still provide live sound reinforcement gear and mixing services as well. I hold over 50 copywrites and my songs have been covered by several artists, licensed for television, and used in film in addition to being available on iTunes, Spotify, Amazon, and most other streaming sources. Throughout my entire career I have taught and mentored other aspiring musicians. I truly enjoy teaching and seeing the excitement students of all skill levels have as they learn to play.

This experience has been incredible! Steve is a very patient teacher! I have taken other lessons with no success. I have learned more in just a few lessons with Steve than months with other instructors. Going to sign my kids up as well because he is a great teacher and so patient. I cannot day enough great things about my experience with this instructor. Also, his house studio is a really cool and comfortable place to learn. I enjoy my time there.

About Noah
Hello and thank you for showing interest in lessons with me! My name is Noah and I’ve been a musician for 15 years. I graduated from the Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts with a Bachelors degree in Jazz composition. When I first started playing the guitar I loved 80’s and classic rock! Trust me, we’ll have a lot of fun learning whatever genre you’d like! We’ll listen to songs, learn them by ear and dissect them if you’d like, so you can learn how to write your own songs! If you’re interested in attending a top tier school like Berklee, I can help you prepare to guarantee you ace your audition and can even help you get ahead of the game by preparing yo
u for your entrance exam so you can skip some entry level courses!

I've only had my first lesson, and I'm a complete novice with the guitar (I'm an adult with some limited musical background). Noah asked me about my goals and musical interests so he could tailor the class to meet my needs. He taught me how to tune the guitar before getting into chords, finger placement, strumming technique, and reading the tabs. Throughout the class, he was incredibly patient, encouraging, and explained everything very clearly without over-complicating the topics. He gave me written "homework" to practice (which I now understand how to read!!). I'm really psyched for my next lesson and pleased that I chose Noah for my instructor.

Noah is by far the best teacher I've ever come across! Here's my story:

I was accepted into the Berklee College of Music as a Vocal Performance Major. However, my knowledge of theory, arranging, and harmony was nothing close to where it needed to be to succeed in my first semester. I ended my first semester with a 1.9 GPA. For the next semester, I was put on academic probation and was required to meet with a Berklee peer tutor once a week. This is where I met Noah. He was my peer tutor. Within our first session alone, I was immediately relieved that there was SOMEONE out that cared enough to take the time to really teach me everything that I needed to learn about theory, harmony, and arranging. He was extremely patient and kind. Where most students who were in my predicament dreaded to meet with their peer tutors weekly, I looked forward to meeting with Noah. In fact, I called the head of the tutoring department and asked if I could meet with Noah twice a week instead of once a week! Noah didn't hesitate, but instead agreed and we met twice a week! We even met for tutoring sessions when it wasn't required! He literally saved my second semester! I went from completely failing tests two getting A+ on all of my exams! At the end of that semester, I went from a 1.9 GPA to a 3.0 GPA!

Not only is Noah just amazing at everything theory, harmony, and arranging, composing, etc. and an amazing teacher that actually cares about his students, he's also an amazing musician! A multi-instrumentalist at that! I've had the pleasure of seeing him play multiple instruments in multiple styles and genres and he's by far the best musician I've ever come across. I would recommend him to anyone! Really! I'm not just saying this! If there is anyone you should be talking to or learning from in regards to all things music, Noah is the guy to go to!

THANK YOU NOAH!!!

I start with the music that students themselves are interested in, and work through those songs to analyze elements of technique, theory, and structure. In addition to being comfortable in classical, pop/rock, and blues, improvisation and song writing will also be included.

About Thomas
I am a classically trained guitarist, with over 15 years experience playing guitar, who has been teaching privately since 2010. I had spent the past six years playing guitar and bass professionally, and touring both nationally and internationally. I studied classical guitar and music education at Montclair State University, and am proficient in electric, acoustic, and classical styles. I like to base my lessons around the musical taste of the individual student, and teach elements of technique and theory through learning music that will be both enjoyable and useful for the student.

The approach I use is tailor made to your current skill level and musical interest. I have taught this way for over 35 years. I have found that when you learn to play the music you enjoy, you stay motivated and your skills improve quickly. I can show you what it takes to be a great lead guitar improviser. I can show you the theories and techniques to compose music on the spot. I am a graduate of Musicians Institute GIT 1985. I had been a guitarist and bassist for originals bands and also currently in cover bands as a Bassist. We can discuss more of what you want from the lessons and how can help you with your musical journey .

About Pierre
I have played in many cover bands and original bands over the years. I have also been asked to be a substitute bass guitarist for several bands when needed. I have been hired for my ability to learn the songs quickly on short notice.
