Darrell helped me a lot to get a handle on my Ableton rig. I needed to set up midi tracks, locate presets to create cool sounds from plugins. Then I needed to export the audio of a couple of those tracks to import into a separate Pro Tools project. Lot of progress, thanks Darrell! -- Frank S

In our percussion class we will cover music theory, counting rhythms and discover a variety of percussion. The majority of this lesson will revolve around the Cajon, Shaker, Tamborine, and using brushes and snare technique and will explore african drums as well!

Bring your hacky sack and get ready for the drum circle. This class is perfect for groups and couples. Feel free to use the "ask a question" feature if you have any questions about this class or it's outline!

About Rachel

I started my musical path in a Ballet Studio. I fell in love with the crackle of the vinyl record playing as I learned to listen and dance with the rhythm. I started playing the guitar when I was in elementary and took classical lessons until I was a teenager.I really enjoy the art of practice

I can work with you on mallet technique (marimba, xylophone, bells, vibraphone, etc.) and help you learn from classical/orchestral, pop, and jazz literature. I can also assist you with learning orchestral snare drum technique. We can work on learning orchestral repertoire as well. A few of the books I use are the Modern School for Xylophone, Marimba, and Vibraphone (Goldenberg), Modern Method for Tympani (Goodman), and Stick Control (Stone). Please see my bio (the "About" section) for my orchestral experience.

Stephen has been a great piano teacher. Both my boys take lessons from him and they enjoy it bery much. He is very clear about what they need to learn. His lessons are well planned and he’s flexible with the learning styles of each student. Sometime we even called him and asked questions after the lessons and he’s very generous and nice to have spent the time to explain things to the boys over the phone.

I've been studying piano with Steve for about a year. I could not be happier with my progress. Steve not only tunes right in to my needs but makes the discipline fun. He is a talented musician, and it's obvious he enjoys teaching music. I feel very fortunate to have him as my teacher.
Elisha
I had my first lesson with Stephen today and he is an awesome teacher. I've been teaching myself for the last couple of years and was very nervous about playing in front of anyone. He made me feel very comfortable and picked up my needs quickly. He's very flexible and patient. I have full confidence that he will take me to the next level of reading, performing and theory. I'm exited to have found Stephen and look forward to my next lesson.

Percussion is so much more than drums. If you are wanting a comprehensive beginners guide to playing percussion. I can help you with posture, sticking, and giving you the fundamentals needed to have an awesome start to your percussion playing. These skills transfer to all percussion instruments, including drum set. I would recommend finding a percussion teacher who plays percussion primarily.

Being from Texas, music education became a huge part of my life from the moment I picked up a pair of sticks. I received two performance degrees from very prestigious music/percussion programs and I have been private teaching since 2013. Lessons with me could set you up for either great success or to simply have a very good time learning something new. Whatever goals you have, I will do my very best to fulfill them. I have training on the following instruments: marimba, xylophone, vibes, bells, snare drum, timpani, drum set, auxiliary instruments (tambourine, triangle, cymbals, tom-toms, etc) and a few hand drums.

I have been playing drum kit and percussion for over ten years and teaching for about seven. I've played a little bit of everything - pop, rock, punk, hip-hop, ska/reggae, blues, jazz, and even musical theater. In addition to drum kit, I can play and teach hand drums (djembe and conga) in contemporary or traditional African, Latin, American styles. I'm happy to share my skills and expertise with drummers of all ages and skill levels.

About Gio

I studied music at UCF (Orlando), focusing on classical and jazz guitar, but I also have years of experience playing rock, blues, folk, hip-hop, and musical theater on both guitar and drums. I have been teaching guitar, drums, and piano for about eight years to students of all ages. Music is wh

"Amazing instructor

Erasmo has been my instructor and has taught me mallet percussion for the past year, and over that year I have improved unbelievably. He is an amazing instructor, very patient and helps explain so the student can fully understand. I have gotten very far within such little time thanks to him. I have become such a better musician from the time I started learning from Erasmo, and I have gotten many great opportunities to become an even better musician thanks to the instruction I have learned. I would highly recommend him for anyone of any age."

"I have been taking music lessons of various types in and outside of school since elementary school and have never had a teacher who introduces concepts quite like Mr.Fuhrman. Things that I have struggled with ever since they were introduced; especially regarding rhythm/counting have become incredibly simple- as they should be! My progress regarding percussion (which I've been working with for over 4 years) has increased exponentially since working with him. Not only will he highly recommend essential practice, but he's willing to give you various strategies to manage time and to be able to fit the practice in. I've had music teachers (all of whom were very competent musicians) telling me to practice since the second grade, but no one's ever set aside some lesson time to discuss how to fit it in. I am a beginning music teacher myself and have already implemented some of the concepts he has taught with my own students. He's not only an incredibly skillful musician, but he is an amazing teacher as well. You won't regret doing lessons with him."
