About Jill
Jill holds a Bachelor's degree in Music Education and has master's work in choral music and Orff-Schulwerk. For many years Jill has taught private and group music lessons to all ages with many varying styles of singing and instrumental music. Her lessons are unlike the ones she remembers from childhood; Jill's lessons are full of creativity, fun and excitement. It is amazing how students improve with each lesson. Jill brings more than just technique to the studio, she strives to find the best in each student and then concentrates on improving each individual's strengths and then delves into ways to correct the weaknesses.

Since Jill is a vocal soloist, instrumentalist, accompanist and music director, she knows what it takes to prepare and rehearse and therefore she makes it clear which concept the student will be working on during
the lesson. With an instrumental and choral background, Jill brings music to life and then shares with the students how to keep music in their lives forever. Many students who had vocal problems have achieved vocal success after taking several lessons with Jill and learning to keep their voices healthy for the rest of their lives.

Jill has worked with children, teens and adults in many schools, churches and after school programs that she designed. Her success with students who are very young or students who come with disabilities or autistic spectrum diagnosis are moved by the music Jill creates. With the help of the ORFF-SCHULWERK certification, Jill has many ways of reaching children through the use of instruments, rhythm activities, games and other fun ways of learning. Breaking barriers is Jill's best asset, she will not quit until the student has an understanding of the instrument or his/her voice.

The young and the older adults find that taking lessons with Jill has brought them to a place of realizing their potential. Successful stories include pre-school age through students who are retired. The length of time one studies depends on the student's practice and diligence. Many students have started with Jill in preschool or elementary school and have continued through high school and college. Several college age students wanted to improve their singing or instrumental skills so goals were set and met through Jill's successful teaching ability. Several students learn music theory and many students have learned song-writing and creating arrangements.

Many of Jill's students have become better musicians and a considerable number of students have chosen music professions for their careers. Multiple students have won contests, auditioned for parts in musicals, started local bands and have become songwriters and performers after taking lessons with Jill. One student has recently auditioned for American Idol and has made it through several auditions. Teaching a myriad of students from various places in the world who have come to the United States has been a great experience. The cultural differences makes the teaching of these students exciting since Jill learns about music in their own home countries. Some of the students are from China, Norway, Dominican Republic, Brazil, Colombia, Puerto Rico and many who moved to Florida from some other state in the U.S.A. What a joy it has been to learn to communicate with these students and to verify that music is a universal language. By special request Jill is available for online lessons through internet and devices as well as traveling to student locations when her schedule allows. Students interest in online or in-home lessons should send a message to her to request certain days and times of availability.

"Jill was Steinway Pianos" Concert and Artist Director in Dallas Tx in the 80's, working with Steinway artists and Dallas Symphony, Opera, Ballet and other events like planning pianos for Prince Charles' visit and many other concerts and events. Jill also performed in many Dallas Venues as well as providing pianos for the Cowboys, the clubs, hotels, country clubs and museums including The Dallas Museum of Art.

Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers, plans succeed. " (Proverbs 15:22) It is Jill's belief that with her teaching qualifications and past record of success with student achievement and great experience studying with wonderful advisers, teaching YOU or YOUR CHILD will be one of success!

*** Lesson Details ***
Jill's teaching technique is flexible. Some students require a stern and strict approach while others seem to work best with more creative license. Jill is open to each student's needs. When booking lessons with Jill, one will find that the first thing she will do is find out more about the student's needs and desires to succeed in their chosen instrument. Meeting goals are important in music and in life!

Because of her flexible approach, method books vary depending on the student's need to succeed. Sometimes young students will need to review several beginning methods until their reading skills are achieved. For the young students, Jill teaches theory and gives the young students time during the lesson to explore musical symbols and try their hands at improvisation, rhythms, manuscripts and creativity.

Some students may desire to learn to play "by ear" or through improvisational skills. Jill is very good with improv and her song writing skills are strong. When a student desires to write music, Jill is there to help with questions about time signatures, note values, key signatures and transpositions.

Taking lessons with Jill is a journey that those who have tried have not had regrets. Several parents and past students would be happy to tell you how their talents and gifts improved after working with Jill for a few months. After three months of working together, Jill will know how to pursue the student's musical career. After 6 months the student will be able to play complete songs and have a sense of basic music theory. The hope is for the student to be confident of their instrument's abilities and to have a list of repertoire for upcoming events in the student's life.

Several of Jill's students have taken their skills, gifts and talents to the professional level. Students who have studied with Jill are professional music directors in high schools, middle schools, elementary schools, churches, soloists and some who are in school studying music as their major. Taking lessons with Jill will be something that will add value to the student's life forever because MUSIC is her life! Without music, the world would be a very dull place and individuals would be unhappy and depressed in every walk of life. Music brings out the beauty of creation and man's ability to skillfully play an instrument for pleasure or for one's occupation.

My 15 year old daughter has had 3 lessons with Jill and we are truly enjoying her! She gives her a variety of useful exercises to strengthen her voice and breath. I already see much growth in her after just 3 lessons, AND my daughter's confidence is increasing with each lesson. Jill is such a talent - she plays multiple instruments and her love of music comes across when she is teaching. I highly recommend her!

I've played guitar since I was only eight years old (over 20 years!) in many different bands, styles, and genres. I played in a traditional Irish ensemble when I was in college and have since picked up banjo, mandolin, harmonica, and bodhran (an Irish hand drum). I love playing and teaching bluegrass music, it's a special challenge both for me and the students!

About Gio
I studied music at UCF (Orlando), focusing on classical and jazz guitar, but I also have years of experience playing rock, blues, folk, hip-hop, and musical theater on both guitar and drums.

I have been teaching guitar, drums, and piano for about eight years to students of all ages. Music is what I'm passionate about and it's what I enjoy. I want to inspire that same passion into the hearts and minds of others.

*** Lesson Details ***
I am a laid-back teacher, fun, and I focus on the needs, abilities, and ambitions of the student. In turn, students must realize that learning an instrument takes a lot of work and dedication. One can't expect to learn very much if s/he only practices or thinks about the instrument during the lesson. If the student is willing to put some time into practicing, then I will help them go far!

*** Studi
o Equipment ***
I have several guitars, a drum kit, djembe, mandolin, clarinet and full-size keyboard.

*** Specialties ***
Guitar: Classical, jazz, American or Irish folk, rock and pop; lead or rhythm.
Drums & Percussion: All genres
Piano: Classical (includes sight reading)

I went into banjo lessons not knowing if I could master the instrument or not, being nearly 70 years old. While by no means a master (and never going to be), I have learned so much from Sam and he has shown such patience with me. I often leave my lessons wondering how he ever puts up with me - but he does. His encourgement, laid-back style, expertise and knowledge of music (plus theory) and the banjo is impressive. His good nature makes my lessons so much more pleasant. I would say Sam is a a great teacher for both a beginner or an accomplished musician or in between. He likes to talk and demonstrate (nice and slowly if requested) so I would recommend hour-long lessons at first.

I make sure that all of my students develop solid fundamentals that can be applied to all styles of music. Then, bluegrass students begin to learn repertoire in the bluegrass genre as well as other key aspects of the genre like playing melodies, improvisation, chordal accompaniment, creating bass lines, etc.

About Matt
I earned a Bachelor's of Music in Classical Guitar Performance from Capital University in Columbus, OH.

I currently teach private guitar lessons, sing and play guitar in the Chicago rock band Dead Parade, and transcribe music professionally for a wide variety of clients. Occasionally, I write articles or do interviews that appear in magazines such as Guitar World. In the past, I worked for 8 years as a guitar teacher, transcriber, consultant, and free-lance writer for a popular subscription guitar site. I also served as a guitar instructor/lecturer at Capital University's Community Music School under the direction of renowned music educator Dr. Rebecca Johnson. Over the duration of my 18 year teaching career, I have taught over 1000 students of all ages and levels of experience.

See "Guitar" for more information

Similar to learning acoustic guitar but with more emphasis on the common bluegrass picking techniques, chord progressions, and various scales.

Emphasis on improvisation when dealing with the lead aspect of bluegrass music.

About Christian
My name is Christian L. and I am a 28 year old guitar/music instructor in the Orlando area. My interest in guitar began when I was 12 years old and blossomed into a full time obsession about 3 years later when I started playing small gigs as a solo guitarist playing simple jazz and classical pieces for small art clubs and events. Alongside gigging, I also began teaching guitar, ear training, and music theory when I turned 18 and have been teaching full time ever since. During that time I also spent 4 years in music school for classical guitar. Currently I spend my time teaching, recording, and performing various styles including rock, jazz, pop, hip-hop, musical theater, metal, and country.

Throughout the 8 years I have been an instructor I believe I have refined my teaching style to be as versatile as possible to accommodate any learn
ing style a student may have. I am capable of teaching all styles of guitar at any skill level with an emphasis on ear training and general knowledge of guitar techniques.

Slight disclaimer in regards to lesson length, price, and student interest:

Over the past year or so I have tried a new teaching structure that I find to be quite rewarding for myself and the students I have had. My lessons do not have a maximum time limit, meaning a lesson could go for 2 hours, if that is what the student wanted, for the same price as a 45 min lesson.

This may sound strange in that I would be losing out on a large amount of potential money but the simple answer is this: I love music and guitar as well as teaching music and guitar. If we are in the middle of a great topic that you, the student, is really interested in, there is no way that I am simply going to stop talking about it when the "timer" stops and there is no way I am going to charge you more for getting into a topic you want to learn.

I find that students who spend more time in the lessons tend to become more interested in guitar and thus, better at playing. I do have to instill a minimum time limit of 45 mins however, any less is honestly just not enough time to get anything worth while accomplished.

One last thing, music and guitar have made up the majority of my daily routine for the past 10 or so years and have literally paid for everything that I currently own as I have never had any other type of job. What this means is that I take the craft very seriously and I project that in the lessons. Basically, if you are genuinely interested in learning guitar and music at any skill level, I will show you everything I possibly can to let you meet your goals. However, if you do not take it seriously, as in you don't pick up or even think about the guitar except for lesson days, the lessons may quickly feel pointless.

For more information on what I teach, feel free to look into the category entitled "Guitar" as well as any of the other subcategories that you are interested in.

My son has really enjoyed and benefited from his lessons with Christian. He had no knowledge of the guitar. After a few months, I've seen a huge improvement in his playing ability. I've also noticed his enjoyment for music has increased significantly. The lessons are for an hour but he doesn't hesitate to stay longer if needed. Christian is a wonderful teacher and definitely was the perfect choice for my son.

So I started out with Christian just knowing the basic chords after noodling around for the past few years. I knew I hit a point where I wasn't going to have the freedom to explore until I learned music theory and got the foundations down. I went in wanting to know the basics to be able to go into any genre at some point. Man I was not disappointed. He is supremely patient working with you at whatever level you're at. And you can tell he's truly passionate and cares as a teacher. For example, countless times we go over the 1 hour time window and he never rushes you out. He sticks with you until the lesson feels concluded naturally. Honestly its all you can ever want out of a teacher. Whether learning riffs from a song, or figuring out what key a song is in, or how to apply the scales at every level, he simply has you covered. I am extremely grateful to have been so lucky to have found him. He alone is one of those rare musicians where his ability, technique, and skill in the art form is matched in his ability to teach it.

Just took my first lessons with Christian and I'm pretty excited! He's got a lot of knowledge and knows what he is doing. He also goes at your own pace so there's no pressure or time pressing against understanding and learning the material. I feel like I'm going to be able to learn and grow from his teachings and recommend him to anyone looking. Remember practice makes perfect and I can't wait for my next lesson!

Hi! Thanks for taking a second to read about me. I love music and that's why I'm here. Each instrument is a channel through which we individually learn how to interact with music. I chose guitar when I was a kid and never looked back. Now it's your turn to learn!

What I found most effective in my years of learning is what I'll teach you. Since every student is different, I'll listen for your cues and provide the guidance that you need. For example, some students simply want to play a few country songs and look to me for interpretation where other students what to understand the mechanics behind the theory and jazz.

I do believe some basic music theory will help you more quickly absorb all the music you hear around you and put it into a context so you can play it quickly, without reinventing the wheel every time. It's a great long term investment into simplifying music.

I'm great with beginners and I always learn something during a class too. I'm looking forward to ...

About Jamie
I've been playing guitar since I was 12 and it's been around me since. I'm not formally trained although I've studied under a number of accomplished individuals in Denver and Philadelphia. Jazz, blues and country are my favorite styles to play currently although I'm sure it will continue to evolve.

I'm simple and functional. What's fun is being able to play music. Yes, sometimes that means getting into some theory but more often than not it's simply learning how to find sounds that you like.

I'm great with kids that are first learning and adults that are looking for a hobby instead of flipping on the TV. Mark Knopfler writes his songs with basic major and minor chords on his acoustic. We can get you rocking in no time!

If you are local in the Philly area I'd love to meet you.

Want to learn the blues? Improve your improvisation and learn jazz technique? Maybe you're just getting started and you aren't ready to make a huge investment yet. You have come to the right place. I am a guitar teacher, blues and jazz are my Forte but I can play just about anything from classic broadway to hard rock on the guitar. I love to form lessons around my students and what they need. My approach to guitar starts with basic music theory and ear training. This will help students understand patterns and structure in music and allow them to communicate with musicians onstage. From there lessons become about what you want and how I can help you improve your technique. So if you're ready to start learning waste no time and sign up for a lesson today. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.

About Anthony
I am a professional intrumentalist( guitar, mandolin, piano, bass), writer and string theorist witha degree in theatre from Oklahoma State University. I sing, act and play instruments for professional equity theatres in my area and have music directed several community and childrens productions. My voice students will learn ear training, to relax into their singing and to strengthen their voice week to week. Each student receives a personalized plan. I also offer audition coaching for those looking to take the next step in the acting world.

My instrumental students will begin by learning ear training and basic structure from there I make it about you and what you want to learn.

In the summer of 2017, I had the pleasure of attending a handful of youth musicals at the Georgetown Palace Theatre (Austin, TX area). As a theatre major, after having viewed these shows it was evident to me that the team which helped put them together really knew their stuff, and that in particular music director Mr. Anthony had gone above and beyond to make these shows something special. I spoke with him a little about the rehearsal process and was amazed to learn not only that he had taught the kids all of the music in only two weeks, but that he was only a seasonal staff member there for the summer programs and was essentially fresh out of college. Mr. Anthony’s professional presence and expertise would lead one to believe he was a tenured staff member at the Palace. Additionally, my childcare background allows me to appreciate how difficult it can be to get 20+ kids still, quiet and paying attention all at once. Mr. Anthony did that, AND taught them an entire musical soundtrack in a period of only two weeks, and when show time came the kids knew what lyrics and notes to sing for their solos! I still remember, after having rehearsed the same songs in music class for months in grade school, having to sing under my breath in the middle of a song and follow along with the rest of the choir because I STILL didn’t have the words memorized! Maybe that’s just me? Either way, whatever Mr. Anthony is doing, it works. Oh, and the kids were crazy about him!

The Palace Theatre found a real gem in Mr. Anthony this summer and I hope his excellent work continues to inspire! He is so passionate about his work and cares about his clients’ success. He is great with kids, they will have tons of fun learning from him. If you or your child are looking for a top-notch teacher, look no further!
