My kids thoroughly enjoyed lessons with Ed (both guitar and piano). Lessons started with my 7yo and when his brother turned 4yo, he started as well.

He knows how to teach, but he taught from his iPad, iPhone, in his car. I kept asking him how to draw, and he kept showing me from his iPad. This didn't translate to a good experience. If he wants to teach, he needs to do it NOT from his car.

Jason was very patient with me and very nice. I loved what I've learned so far and can't wait to learn more!

Great lesson. Jason is working with my mom to tailor the lessons to her level. Mom enjoyed the lesson and is looking forward to more.

Chris grew up hearing his dad play guitar around the house and at live shows. He “caught the bug” around age 13 and hasn’t stopped playing since! He’s been teaching guitar since 2003 and received his Bachelor of Arts in Music at North Central University in 2008 where he studied jazz, blues, rock, classical, songwriting, and church music. He’s taught about two dozen lessons a week for the better part of 10 years; from age 8 to retiree, beginner to advanced, hobbyist to college-prep or gig-ready. He specializes in blues, rock, improvisation, and songwriting. What he loves most about teaching is being able to pass on everything he has learned and continues to learn in his 20+ years as a musician, helping students take step after step to achieve their musical goals. As an active musician, Chris has been the lead singer/songwriter/rhythm guitarist for a local rock band and has performed/recorded as the lead guitarist for a number of other bands/artists. He currently plays lead guitar for ...

My 15 year-old son started guitar this summer. He has truly enjoyed working with Chris. Chris is patient and encouraging, as well as being a cool guy that my son looks up to.
Helen
My 13-years old son was reluctant to take music lessons. He had not liked piano (with a different instructor) when he was younger, but agreed to try guitar. Since the first trial lesson, he has been excited to learn more!

Chris is a fun teacher who knows his stuff and who communicates well with both his students and their parents. I have three kids and have found it’s difficult to find a teacher who is responsive to parents + engaging with youth + gifted at music.

His rates are very reasonable for our area. His in-home lesson space is professional and comfortable — I get to sit on a comfy couch and get work done during my son’s weekly lesson. In addition, Chris goes above and beyond to make sure the lessons are meeting our expectations. He tracked down strings for us when we accidentally broke one. He has rescheduled lessons due to our busy schedules. He is genuinely kind and such a pleasure to work with — we couldn’t be more thrilled!
Brian
Our kids have loved working with Chris. He picks songs they're excited to play, teaches them patiently, and has a lot of fun with them. They've made a ton of progress since they started with Chris, and they're always excited to see him!

I want you or your child to love and enjoy music as much as I do! No two people learn in exactly the same way so I like to work with my students to establish their own personal goals and cater my lessons to those goals. I also am a big advocate of teaching people to play by ear using ear training methods combined with music reading skills and music theory.

About Rusty

I started playing Bass for my church at the age of 17. After graduating High School I Started purusing a degree in Theatre & Vocal Performance at Central Arizona College. I was selected twice to compete in the KCACTF based on performances in musicals and was accepted into the Advanced Jazz Choir in

I consider myself an intermediate guitar player. I know a few chords, and have learned a few songs, but I didn’t really understand how to improvise. Rusty is a great teacher and has really helped me understand various aspects of music theory. I have definitely improved as a guitarist and a musician. I highly recommend Rusty for all skill levels
Joel
Awesome teacher, very friendly, fun, and helpful. Really inspired me to keep learning more!
James
Taught my granddaughter guitar twice a week for around 6 months and he was great. He even helped us pick out a guitar for her birthday that she fell in love with because it was purple. She can even play by ear now! We also loved going to see him perform, he has a fantastic voice an a big presence on stage! She'd still be doing lessons with him now if we had the time!

"Lucian will listen to whatever it is that you want to learn and give you all the building blocks to play how you want to play and explore your options on the neck in many different ways. I am a intermediate guitar player and within a few lessons with Lucian I was given tools to work on and practice for months to improve my skills and technique/ approach to playing. I would recommend his lessons to ANYONE looking to improve!"

"Tara has been teaching our 8 year old Evan Bluegrass guitar for a little over two years. He looked forward to his weekly opportunity to learn and play with Ms. Tara. To watch her interact - educate - and entertain Evan - was just a joy. We are sorry she has left Virginia - impossible to replace - if you get the chance - take it! She is an amazing teacher and a great friend of our Son."
